    Too many ads
Despite the ads and the lack of involvement/support from Sneha’s family, it seems worthwhile to bring attention to this case. It seems most likely that something happened to Sneha on the evening of Sept 10th. It does her no favors to accept a narrative that she ran into the towers to help people on Sept 11th.

    Pros & Cons
Pros: storytelling value, research effort and thoroughness, impact, entertainment value/enjoyability, overall quality (all very high) Cons: podcaster’s pronunciation of the word, “during”

You’re going to lose your mind listening to the detective who sounds like his mouth is stuffed with cotton.

    Really good
I’m not saying this is the best podcast I’ve ever heard. In fact, there were times that I thought the host sometimes over explained or over simplified it for the listener. HOWEVER, the more I listened, the more I liked it. I especially like the interviews included throughout. And I grew to live the host and his adorable laugh. I haven’t reached the end, but I am on the last episode and very satisfied. Highly recommend.

I get that everyone wants to be the next Serial…
But this podcast was especially cringe-worthy in its clear thirst for this sort of big break. At the beginning and the end of the episode, the host makes an impassioned plea for the person who has more info on Sneha to come out. As if this person (should they exist) has nothing better to do than to listen to a random podcast on Sneha’s disappearance. Come on.

    Addictive
I am totally obsessed. I listened earlier in the year and still randomly think of what happened to Sneha. Thank you for uncovering and bringing awareness to this case—even if we aren’t fully satisfied with how it was resolved.

    Never Forget
I loved this podcast! The negative reviewers didn’t give it a chance. I almost stopped listening also with sections on Islamophobia. I don’t believe it was or is that prevalent. But after that it’s a fantastic story. The end had me in tears with the son of Anthony Hopkins singing a beautiful song. His mom died in the attack. I’ll listen for a second time. It’s worth it!!

    So good!
Jon has completely got me hooked on this case! I’m so sad there are no more episodes. Jon did an incredible job telling and researching the story. Highly recommend this podcast to anyone that loves true crime, cold cases, missing people stories. A+++

    Great podcast.
I like John’s storytelling style, and it is a very interesting and compelling story.

    Loved it!
I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews, I enjoyed it! It’s a fascinating case and story and I thought the show provided a lot of 9/11 history I didn’t know. Loved it!

    Half-baked
On the whole, this show is characterized by poor writing, tangential content, mediocre production and subpar journalism. There are a few moments in the first couple episodes that do feel genuinely evocative, even poetic. But generally it pales in comparison to something like The Trojan Horse Affair, a story with subjects similarly unwilling to talk on the record but crafted in a way that infuses a lot more intrigue into it. Maybe Walczak is not as well funded as the team at Serial Productions, or maybe he’s not a journalist of comparable skill. I tend to assume the latter, given that he includes a farcical list of “homework” assignments for the audience—the juiciest scoops he wish he could have gotten—at the end of each episode. In any case, this is a show better skipped.

Sound effect that will make your ears bleed
The story seems interesting and there is a good amount of background information on 9/11 BUT I couldn’t get further than a few minutes into the second episode. When recounting individuals’ movements on the day before and day of the disappearance, there is a horrid shrill noise that marks the transition between the narrator’s retelling. Occurred like 20 times in the last 5 minutes of the first episode.

    Loved it!
What a fascinating podcast. For those out there who want to know how the bulk of the episodes are comprised, it’s a good amount of 9/11 history (audio, facts, stories, etc) mixed with the detective work of trying to figure out what happened to Sneha. I highly recommend it. ** on a side note, I think Sneha’s brother (John) should be a strong suspect and her husband Ian a possible suspect. Of all the family members Sneha knew, John was really the only one whose story changed multiple times regarding the last time he saw her, and I believe he had a reason to be upset with Sneha and ultimately could be the reason why she went missing. Anywho, thanks again for the great podcast!

    Abrupt Ending with No Conclusion
This podcast was an interesting listen, albeit sometimes a bit repetitive, but because there was zero conclusion it really felt unfinished. Even if they just offered a half-baked final episode with a overview summation of the facts of the case it’s better than just abruptly ending the season and leaving us hanging, right?

    Get Better Sponsors
The podcast itself was a solid four. Good information and interesting. However the way too frequent and inappropriate condom ads significantly took away from this broadcast. The feeble attempts at condom humor were just that, feeble attempts. I realize the need for sponsors, but the ads were distasteful and interrupted podcast flow.
  • Helloimkaley
Is this podcast about a missing woman or condoms?
The Trojan ads are in really poor taste for a podcast like this, not to mention there are about 9 minutes of them per episode. No thanks.
  • thisistheworstest
Is this Missing 9/11 or a Trojan Ad
Don’t know if I can get through this podcast it’s like 20 minutes of obnoxious trojan ads and 10 minutes of story. So exhausting and disappointing. The first season Missing in Alaska was so good.
  • The Honest Truth.
    Disappointed
While this story sounded incredibly interesting at the beginning, I could not get past the second episode because of all the advertisements. I understand that ads are how podcasts survive, and I have no problem listening to them every so often. But it feels like the same condom commercial plays every five minutes. It unfortunately really takes away from Sneha’s story.
  • hazelbnr
    Engaging exploration 👍
This is my second listen. I noticed a few whiny reviews complaining about annoying ads. Fast forward! Grumbling the ending is not conclusive. Such if life. Grow a pair. 911 has many unanswered questions. All that said, this pod left me wanting more. Sign of a good one.

    Ads
Obnoxious Trojan ads that go on and on. Enough already.

Too many condom commercials for me
I tried to get through one episode but was quickly overwhelmed by the amount and length of the condom commercials. I’m no prude but the constant and long condom commercials was just to much. I was interested in this disappearance after watching an episode of unsolved mysteries on her disappearance. Maybe I’ll try again when they get a new sponsor.

    Unlikable Subject and Unfinished Story
The story was interesting for a few episodes. But then it seemed to lose direction as the producers seemed to hit a dead end in the timeline. The last episode was a long recording of the 9/11 attack, which was confusing & added nothing to the story of Sneha and her family. Then: nothing. No new episodes or info from podcasters. But the real issue for me was, I am genuinely not invested in this person. She does not seem to have treated her family or her husband very nicely before she went missing. I feel for her family, but not for her. The mystery is interesting, but the focus of the investigation is not.
  • martiklever
    Too much advertising and side-commentary.
I cannot handle the endless ads and unnecessary commentary other than the main story. Very frustrating.
  • gonefishcaking
    Intriguing but
Decent content. Lots of ads. A bit of repetition in each episode. And the audio files does not help find the Dr. It feels disingenuous to the purpose of this podcast and makes me feel they just wanted to air it to stir emotions.

Where Did It Go? It’s Over?
Nothing irritates me more than when a podcast abruptly ends. There haven’t been new episodes, but there wasn’t any closure. It’s bait and switch and super crappy to do to listeners. It felt like there was some interesting stuff happening and being reported. Then it was done. That I do not like. Don’t just make your sponsor money and dump your listeners. It’s rude and not professional.

    Slightly Disappointing
Let me start by saying that I liked the podcast. The story is intriguing and entertaining. That said, there are a lot of moments in the show that are frustrating. Over and over again, you will hear: “they declined to talk to me” or “they never got back to me” or “we don’t know.” I am sure that this was even more frustrating for the creators, but nevertheless it is a bit annoying to hear. The show brings up interesting theories or ideas, but can never really get anywhere with them because they are unable to confirm or rebut most of the considerations. It feels like the show was lacking one or two (probably more) really good sources to push the story towards a real conclusion. I know that not every mystery can get tied up with a pretty bow at the end, but I just kept wishing for something more…

    Not good
The story is intriguing, but this podcast is not good. There is an ear splitting scratching sound played to transition from one point to the next and the host ends each episode by giving “homework.”
  • Lisby1
    An Absolutely Fascinating Podcast
I have listened to every episode several times and wish there was more. This is a 9-11 story I was unaware of and what a mystery it is. I have gone back and forth on my verdict, but after viewing footage of one of the Twin Towers collapsing and its remains filling the street on which Sneha’s apartment was located, I finally decided that if she was on the street anywhere nearby, she might have ended up dead. That said, I hope there will be more of this story come from leads that have come in!
  • Meeshmeesh95
Started well, now the episodes aren’t focusing on the subject
He hasn’t told us any new information for a few episodes. He’s just repeating the same information or drifting from the main subject.

    Good, But Has Its Issues
I thought this story was very interesting and think the host did a decent job with it, but it has some drawbacks. The one that was an issue throughout was the ads. There are so many obnoxious ads throughout, even with the skip function it got annoying. The other thing was more of an issue toward the end. The episode about the camera, while interesting, rubbed me a bit the wrong way. For one, this sense of entitlement that he has that he deserves to see these photos just really bugged me, as well as the other reporter’s seemingly disbelief that the family chose to not view the photos and her entitlement that those photos should be public. Maybe the family didn’t want to see them and maybe also wouldn’t want every random person on the internet to have them! People grieve in different ways, there’s nothing odd at all that they would have chosen to not view the photos. From there it seemed to really turn into conspiracy theory territory and brought the whole podcast down for me. If you’re interested, it’s worth a listen, but maybe skip the last couple of episodes or be prepared to hear entitled conspiracy theories.

That last episode that was uploaded was 8/18.

    very good
season two much better then season one for me, story wise, production wise both seasons are good

    Bad journalism
Great for people who love conspiracy theories. I expected some actual investigation so this wasn’t for me. I had to finish it thought because I felt like maybe it would be good at some point. I mean it had 4 stars so I was expecting something. I found myself mostly just rolling my eyes and saying out loud all the problems with the “investigating”. I don’t blame the family at all for refusing to be apart of this podcast…it was quite terrible.
  • kcw131
The host was way too into himself
I felt no closer to understanding where Sneha is now than before I listened to this podcast. Further, the whole thing about him filing a FOIA for the famous construction worker photos had absolutely nothing to do with Sneha’s disappearance and yet he made a whole episode about it. That showed that this was always more about the host than it was the truth of this story.
  • emb515
    Not great
This was not as interesting as Missing in Alaska,However I have to finish things it’s just my personality. By the end ,I had to make a conscious decision to pay attention because it just was not interesting.
  • slloyd155
This is not a podcast - it’s a giant advertisement
I’ve never heard so many ads in such a short time. How do they get away with this? It’s simply pure greed and the content just isn’t worth the annoyance and hassle.
  • whats up balcony
He’s only interested in her “escaping” as an answer
It’s an interesting podcast but his myopia caused me to roll my eyes too often.
  • krs0687
    Too much speculation
Drags the narration out, has no new info

    Great show/husband knows more
I believe her husband knows more than what he is saying;I also do not believe her disappearance has anything to do with 9/11…. The last upload of the audio from the informant was unnecessary… Over all the series is good and I do enjoy. Keep up the great work.

Great show, season 1 as well

    My favorite podcast this year.
I was 2 when 9/11 happened. I have no memories of the world before or during the attack, just everything after. Sneha’s disappearance is a case that has fascinated me since I first heard about it at 16 or so. It’s one of the only cases I don’t have a pretty solid theory on. I felt like Jon did a pretty nice job of covering the bases, then bringing out more detail at the appropriate times. The pacing was excellent. I also really appreciated that the podcast branched out from itself a bit. Not only did we hear about Sneha, but I learned so much more about the attack. Not the attackers, but the victims and those surrounding the event. I always knew that 9/11 was bad and a traumatizing crisis for the country, but this podcast brought it all into its terrifying perspective. Every interview was well placed and riveting. From Sketchcop to the forensic side of everything to getting a peek into the FBIs investigation and storage system, all interviews, especially toward the end ,were exactly what I didn’t know I needed to know. It’s been a few days since I finished this podcast and I’ve thought about it every day, multiple times a day since. I want to talk to everybody about it (using self control here) because I learned so much. I appreciated the minimal mentions of the attackers, and how conspiracies about the event as a whole were left out. This podcast was unlike anything I’ve ever heard and you better believe I’m getting all my friends to listen to it. Thank you, Jon and friends.

    Ghoulish
I felt ghoulish listening to this show. I say this as someone who listens to a lot of true crime shows and hasn't had this reaction before. It's obvious her family grieved deeply over this tragedy. There's nothing here that excuses us strangers picking at this painful wound. The host has added nothing to the information anout the case. To top it all off, he makes incredibly misinformed assumptions about mental illness.
  • abroshar
    Absolutely riveting.
Terrific reporting, resourcing, and audio. Guests are true experts. Every episode is more absorbing than the last. I’m going to be looking for this woman for the rest of my life.
  • RubieBleu
    Excellent from start to finish
I really enjoyed this podcast. I’d recently been reminded of Sneha’s story and in my quest for knowledge found this podcast. I think it was a really good piece of investigative journalism. It left me thinking about how much I didn’t know about what happened on 9/11 (I was a teenager in 2001) and how little of the firsthand experiences have been shared (understandably so). Thanks for telling Sneha’s story through the broader lens of 9/11.
