JBA100MUnfortunateThey preach love, but say you cannot be a good person if you vote for Trump. How incredibly shallow, mean, narrow minded, and hateful.
-

multiphonicScience Love Joy = My Favorite Podcast! The way that Megan and David bring consistent joy to subject of sexy science makes me excited to hear what they bring in each week. And the constant message of love, even through hard things, is exactly the kind of thing that we all need to counterbalance the far too prevalent negativity that’s present everywhere on the internet. Listen to this podcast every week, and Tuesdays will start to be your favorite day of the week!

existenicoA journey through an egomaniacal takeoverI have been a SWAP follower and listener for years. There’s been a distinct tone shift since Leadville, fine, maybe that was short lived glory. Nope. David, specifically, has devolved into a completely insufferable egomaniac. I can’t believe people listen to him and think he’s still humble and all love. It’s all a self serving front. He manages to bring everything back to himself and his absolute delusions. I feel bad for people who think he truly cares for them when he just wants to be famous and known as the best trail runner in the world (who can’t even run on buff singletrack without biffing it). Probably time he changes his handle to @treadmillroche.

alzxjmRaucous humor, cutting edge science, and good vibesThis was one of those rare podcasts that was love at first listen. My friend told me it was a science-heavy running podcast, which did nothing at all to prepare me for my first episode which almost immediately swerved into jokes about making love to Panera bread bowls. I listen to every episode and subscribe to their Patreon for the bonus episodes there. Cannot recommend enough.
-
drjakepuravidaAuthentic, informative, funny, running/fitness podcastDavid and Megan Roche are amazing! I love their discussions about running, fitness, training, racing and fueling. I appreciate their authenticity and willingness to be vulnerable.

Leonard CorrealWas a fan until realizing what sociopaths the Roche’s areStarted to have my doubts after their poor takes on Lizzo prior to her lawsuits and the way the shilled AG1 for that real estate scammer CEO. Just found out David was lying and using old photos from his Grindstone ankle sprain in order to make his Big Alta DNF look more favorable. Thankful that the Let’s Run and Reddit forums have exposed these ego maniacs

jftd88Awesome Pod with a QuestionFairly new podcast listener and love your discussions. I’m sure you’ve faced your share of setbacks but from an outsiders perspective, it seems like you just keep building success upon success, crushing workouts and winning massive races. My question is how do you deal with adversity, for example not being able to hit a target pace, both in the moment and to shape your training moving forwards? Thanks!

A VespucciI’ve given upThought it was fun and fairly interesting at the start. Lately the show is more self-absorbed and less scientific. Maybe 20 minutes of actual content per episode.
-
A Weekend WarriorLove and HillstridesI showed up for the sports science but have remained a listener for more than two years now due to David and Megan’s commitment to creating a fun and welcoming/loving environment for all. The show is hilarious yet full to the brim with the best running sports science around. Thanks, Megan and David for all that you do!
-
jeffrunsSmart and funI love David & Megan’s science-backed approach to training and their fun energy. This pod is packed with great insights for runners who want to up their game.
-
K BuchanRunningHelpful training advice and fun listening to them nerd out on the science of running. Not so into the sexual innuendos or political rants but still giving it 5 stars because I’m eager to listen week after week.
-
in home trainerI’m a fan!Just put in huge feed order! I’ve been an endurance coach for a couple of years and really love testing your ideas and tips with myself and athletes! Been loving your YouTube episodes as well and rooting for you at western states! From a mom of 4- training is the best form of therapy I could recommend!

C SeversonNo thanksStopped listening. Too self absorbed behind the ‘we love everything’. Too much sketchy product pushing.
-
Val/BearMotivation in a "Bottle"David and Megan balance being both fun and hilarious with being serious about breaking down the latest scientific studies on training theory. Lots of heart and soul and love, something the world is desperately in need. This podcast is the only motivation you need to get running and really believe you are capable of anything.
-
tjbushlackBetter people through better runningDavid Megan BELIEVE in sharing big love through science, running and relationships. You will too - just listen. Pure joy to listen and motivate my workouts

Elon Musk Tech SupportLove the podcast!Sorry, I believe my previous review was taken down; what is up with having all your regular flat workouts were you supposably run fast reps manually uploaded to Strava. Also there is no way that you can times that you have shown on treadmill workouts. Blud ain’t Grant Fisher?

Taomrois👍🏼👍🏼I love this show. I just run recreationally but I love the exercise physiology. And the story of these two is inspiring. I cannot walk away though without commenting on how often David interrupts Megan. Once I noticed it I couldn’t un-notice it. Drives me nuts. I would want it pointed out to me… if it were me

AbbyHeffBest Running PodcastI listen to a few running podcasts and this has quickly become my favorite. It has been by far the most influential as David and Megan cover a wide range of topics and always discuss different perspectives. I appreciate their ability to flow in natural conversation while maintaining the organization of topics and thoughts. I gain practical takeaways from every episode and they do a great job at providing information without over complicating. I look forward to listening every week!
-
Deenie108My favorite podcast!!I look forward to new episodes every week (and the bonus episodes through Patreon)! I’ve learned so much from Megan and David about exercise physiology, fueling, strides, leading with love, and so much more. Keep up the amazing work!!

Noelle T&FLuv it!So fun & funny to listen to! A little off topic in the intros but very informative for me as a track runner! Keeps my attention and focus! 🫶😁
-
AKtomorrowEven if you’re not a runner…I cycle, lift, and swim and find this podcast so incredibly helpful! It has totally changed how I fuel rides and I feel so much better. I’ve added z2 sessions on a trainer ending with spins (cycling strides) and Strava keeps telling me I’m breaking PRs from 5 years ago. Thank you Megan&David!
-
CharperbarperCan’t stop listening! After hearing great things about this podcast for years, I finally started listening a few months ago and cannot stop! This podcast is informative, fast paced, and wildly entertaining. As someone who is currently pregnant, I found Megan’s recent pregnancy journey to be both comforting and inspiring. David’s recent racing accomplishments have been absolutely jaw dropping. Cannot wait to listen to what these two do next!
-
Rach B RDEvidence based at the intersection of real life!Just stumbled upon this pod during a recent road trip and loving it. I started with the OT + REDs episode and as a previous D1 endurance runner, coach and now a dietitian working at the collegiate level I can confidently say this podcasts presents information in such a wonderful way. Not only is it clear and concise, but real and digestible. The way nutrition is discussed in a neutral and almost nonchalant but research back way is fabulous. Love it! Great for most athletes even beyond running!
-
JuliaKatzAmazingJust discovered them and am obsessed. So smart, so positive, so vulnerable. Going deep into the archives

MB24reviewsHonest, quirky, extreme knowledge, great peopleI first came across David on the now defunct podcast Science of Ultrarunning as a round table of great coaches. I can’t believe it took so long for me to find his SWAP podcast with his wife where there share incredible insights and knowledge into everything running. From non ultras to beyond ultras, they get deep into science of all things running in a very honest, quirky, fun, episode. They are such nice people that acknowledge the many ways to skin the performance cat. And if you can, highly recommend joining their Patreon for bonus content and the ability to message them and get responses! The pod rocks!
-
Sweeper4444No Work Required! You don’t have to be a runner (it helps) to enjoy the discussions, the science/theories or hypothesis, and banter of this podcast. This is a great podcast for anyone interested in self improvement. Subscribe right the F now.

kcinspbAll the loveIt’s hard to express the amount of joy. This podcast brings me. As a former runner, current triathlete, I train less than 10 hours a week. The topics and performances of these coaches are way above my level, and yet they consider everyone elite! I regularly implement ideas from the podcast. But even more importantly, the sense of community and fun always brightens my day.
-
Rich the running electritionGreat pod!Love this pod, came for the training and loved it so much wish I found it sooner.
-
RowRunReadEDGA North StarDavid and Megan raise my game on science, daring greatly as an athlete, and being a vulnerable human being. I am glad they are here and they are one of the few voices I must have in my life each and every week without fail.

DT InvestThe Best of the Best of the BestThere’s no better running extravaganza, David & Megan are beast mode! Woof!
-
Justin MulderThe best running podcast out there!David and Megan are the real deal. Genuine, insightful and hilarious/uplifting. David is so approachable and always interested in helping and uplifting other runners. When you look at the results of Megan and David’s athletes and the results of Megan and David themselves they absolutely speak for themselves. Also there approach is so attainable for us who aren’t elite. SO keep spreading the love and the Huzzah vibes!
-
Luda-ChristianFive StarsA couple of genuine and insightful dorks, love em.
-
Ksarge99I love!!This is one of my favorite podcasts. I found while I was training for my first ultra marathon and wanted to understand heart rate training better. But I’ve been sucked in to all the other topics Megan and David have to offer. I love the mix between running/fitness/science/& other random topics. I’ve listened to this on my long runs, cleaning the house, car drives. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
-
hippierunnergal6Best part of my life week!Thank you Megan and David for this podcast! I have enjoyed listening over the last 4 year when I signed up for my first trail race that was a half marathon. Now I am approaching my first 50 miler. I have enjoyed your enthusiasm, authenticity, and research! Congratulations David on your accomplishment in your races and congratulations to Megan overcoming health complications and becoming a mom! You two have brought me so much joy with this podcast. Hezaa!!

@kristitroutScience + love = can’t loseHi guys! Newer listener but long time nerd and fan of the sport. I want you to know how much I appreciate the energy and content you bring to keep us company on our drives, runs, or whatever we are getting up to. I’m in nursing school right now while also going through other big life transitions (I blew up my life to move to the mountains of Vermont) and it’s pretty stressful and lonely a lot of the time. My miles with podcasts are how I'm getting through it in once price. You are both so authentic and have the winning combo of all the science and all the love: you can’t lose. Thanks for continuing to show up, I’m rooting for you guys!! Kristi
-
Alabama runnerFun and inspirationalYou don’t need to be an ultra runner or marathoner to love this podcast. David and Megan have such great energy for running that it is infectious and keeps me motivated. Then there is the science, research and testing of theories that is both interesting, and somehow always funny. Especially loved episode 230, encouraging all of us to “take our shot” and push out of our comfort zone in running, but more importantly, in life. Thanks David and Megan!
-
AndreaWorksListening since the first few months - it just keeps getting BETTERMegan and David are the kindest, most enthusiastic, and most delightfully weird running coaches on the planet. Every week is more than an hour of training science, oddly inappropriate yet still appropriate r-rated jokes, and unconditional love. What more could a person possibly want??? TEN STARS.
