sml2022So important for moms to beWhen it comes to having a baby there is so much conflicting advice out there and it’s hard to know what to do. I love the advice that Liz and Shaina provide from the point of view of labor nurses. They know the good the bad and the ugly and will help you navigate it all!

Imkplr2Retired Labor nurseHello, I have just stumbled upon your podcast and it absolutely tickles me! I started labor in a very large hospital in Illinois in the year 1965. Things were a whole lot different and I would say I’ve seen it come and I’ve seen it go. My first one listening to is how to check a cervix. I would just like to share that when I started a vaginal exam was a sterile doctors procedure. Nurses only did rectal‘s with a finger cat on there pointing finger. We could get very very accurate! However effacement was thick, thinning or thin. When I went to a small hospital I had to teach myself vaginal exams. I had to do a vaginal exam then check myself with a rectal. Sorry ladies but I had to do what I had to do. It’s been an amazing ride these many many years. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I miss it. So I will listen to your Podcasts and think about the old days!

Cgc 12345So helpful!A friend turned me on to this podcast and I’ve listened to every episode. I love that it’s two L&D nurses that are the hosts. They are so helpful in walking through the things that happen in the hospital from the moment you walk in until the moment you walk out. I feel like it’s so important that pregnant women are knowledgeable and informed about what happens at birth and Shaina and Liz give just the right amount of information so it’s not too overwhelming, but you also can feel empowered to advocate for yourself and trust your medical team! This is a must-listen!

Erin R WolfeLOVE THIS PODCAST!I recently found this podcast through other Instagram accounts that I follow! I was blown away by the episode I listened to with Brittany sharpe McCollum! What I really loved was that these birth nurses, even with decades of experience were completely open to learning new information and embracing change and new perspectives!! That is exactly what this world needs!! I love it!

brickhouserEngaging and informative!Rarely does one get this kind of perspective into the world of Labor and Delivery without either being dull or venturing into the world of cringy pseudo-science. Shaina and Liz give you the inside scoop in a way that’s engaging like an episode of Grey’s Anatomy, but actually realistic. Highly recommended for new/expecting parents or anyone who just wants to understand this world from two knowledgeable and experienced nurses!

LunaRose59Love the Perspectives!Loved hearing about your backgrounds, it was fun and knowledgable for women/partners/dads to understand how many aspects there are of the experience of giving birth! And how most people don’t realize how nurses play the biggest role in that experience! Well done ladies!
