I usually listen to true crime, but this podcast is an easier to swallow listen. I love the way Chris intertwines facts with each story. I am also one that enjoys him peppering in chapters of his personal book about Zachary Bane. Another thing I enjoy is the down to earth, self aware method of telling the stories. Chris’ mispronunciations, and not cutting out the little parts where he can laugh at himself makes it so human. I personally prefer it to be more raw and not robotic. I never thought I would like different voices between characters but it’s a nice little touch that he delivers too. The fireside tales with Chris and his wife Meghan are a great listen too. It feels like you’re right there with your friends.

Love listening to the show. Usually listen to it while driving around for work and it always helps the time pass. Can’t wait to hear about my state (Wyoming). Looking forward to it!!

I love listening to this show. The history itself is great - love the factoids, but I also love listening to the random rambling and comments. Such a great show to have on in the background while I do work.

Great podcast, love the stories about the different states. The only thing I don’t love is the music that is played under his speaking, it sometimes makes it hard to focus on the story- too many sounds at once! Other than that, I love listening to him talk about Haunted American History.

I love all things haunted and paranormal but this podcast has really grabbed my attention early on! I bingelisten, is that a word? Bingelisten…it is now. I love listening while I do housework or work on blankets and scarves. Such a great theme, haunted American history, I love that Chris goes through different states and talks about each one. Very interesting and entertaining!

I grew up and still live in Central Jersey! I have heard about the Jersey Devil my whole life. I used to go through the Pine Barrens with my dad on his motorcycle, I would be terrified and always kept an eye out for the Jersey but never saw him.

I found Christopher and have loved the adventure through the states. He is a down to earth podcaster, easy voice to listen to. Calming and educational. I appreciate his music choices and he sets the mood as well as delivers words with great timing, rhythm and care. I appreciate his dedication. Keep them coming Christopher, you’re doing amazing.

I’m early into the pod, but I’m loving the narrator Christopher. He is pretty funny! Cracks me up that I can’t tell when the extra details are made up or if they are truly part of the story. This is the only creepy podcast that makes me LOL. I hope it keeps up throughout the series.

Hilarious AND creepy. Such great writing enhanced by interesting narration that is not common in the horror space. Like listening to a diamond district shop owner who also happens to tell the best stories.

I am a horror aficionado. All horror…from the classics of Edgar Allen Poe, the Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock hour to my favorite author Stephen King…I love it all! I have to admit it has been difficult to find podcasts that have great horror stories in this day and age of everyone and their mom hosting a show but with this podcasts, I have found it! Chris is an amazing writer and a captivating storyteller! I am hooked!

Really enjoying the state by state haunted history. Being from Arkansas, I’ve been to the Crescent Hotel many times. A close friend has a photo with a cloudy ghost face over his shoulder standing by a table in the lobby. The face looks a lot like Dr. Baker himself. Oh boy here we go! I searched “haunted stories” and this podcast showed up for me and what intrigued me was the one that was released today about Maine since I’m a New Englander/I live in NH. I’m officially going down the rabbit hole of episodes as I enjoy the content, history lesson, flow and Chris’s NY accent. Started following on IG and Spotify also! I also really enjoy that he’s working his way through all the states and doing a show for each of them-how cool!

I’m binge listening and very much enjoying this podcast. Even though many episodes contain tried and true subject matter they are presented in a fresh new light here on this podcast. Some episodes have never been covered such as The Staircase in the woods or selling ones soul to the devil. Very nice writing and narration.

I learned about this podcast through southern gothic. The host is very good; his writing is captivating. I loved the Idaho Woman in White episode!

Chris does a great job on this show. His narration is sound and he’s extremely personable; he doesn’t try to hide who he is. His research is good with a lot of lesser known lore. I absolutely LOVE the short fiction tales that accompany most of the episodes. There is one thing about dislike, and it’s a huge dislike. The reoccurring Zachary Bane stuff. To me it doesn’t fit with the theme and format of the show. It’s like if Twilight Zone a few times a year had stuck in the story of A Princess of Mars by Burroughs. It doesn’t fit and it detracts from the podcast.

Great show. Would love some more Zachary Bane.

Most podcasts are hit and miss, even Dateline, unless it’s Keith Morrison. This one I can not wait for each episode. The Author’s fiction are fantastic as well. I haven’t heard Zoning Out yet but was always a fan of the Twilight Zone. Music is perfect as well. Little loud at beginning of the author’s original stories, but perfect to set the stage.

Awesome narration and story telling. Only criticism is that your tag line is only one word different from Lore podcast tag line
