More Colton and Less Nick please
Nick has a habit of taking (and talking) over the podcast. Colton writes the stories, does the research, he should be the main host for the podcast.

    Great Lions podcast
Live out her in AZ. Grew up in MI. Life long Lions fan. This one of my favorite lions podcast. These guys do a great job. My only complaint is that I wished they did more shows. Sometimes they wait awhile in between shows.

    Great pod, Nick-upgrade your audio!
I appreciate how in depth they get on the game and how the season is going as a whole, but PLEASE for the love of god get Nick a better microphone and have him put the mic closer to his mouth because his audio is awful and it ruins the overall quality of the podcast. I can’t keep adjusting the volume for an hour, I’d stop listening if I wasn’t such a die hard lions fan.

    Sound quality is really bad
Absolutely love the hosts and information but the sound quality is honestly terrible most of the time. It makes it very hard to get through an episode

    Great content, poor sound quality
The audio mix for this is poor relative to the other athletic content I enjoy. makes it tough to take in / follow. Nick’s audio is too quiet and tinny, Colton’s is even lower and muddy.

    Ultimate straw man pod
Decent podcast worth listening to. But the random straw man arguments these guys incessantly bring up is too much. If they see any irrelevant Twitter post with a bad take they seemingly bring it up as if every Lions fan thinks that way. It’s borderline offensive lol, but here I am still listening. I do miss Chris tho

Great but also could be better
Nick is a great podcast host but I wish we could get more substantial analysis from him. Too much of his airtime is just asking Colton questions and then giving his reaction to the answers. Colton is valuable to the show because he has real contact with people in the Lions camp, and if Nick could raise his analysis a little higher above the level of casual fan reactions, I think the show would be even better.

    Audio is Poor
Wish I could hear the other guy. Sounds like he’s in a bathroom.

    Good content, bad tech
Solid conversations and insights. Adding Colton is awesome. Nick still needs to work on finishing thoughts and not screaming into the mic. The audio for this podcast is really bad. Echoing where I can re-hear the guys talking and the constant static/electronic screeching is bad. With how much money the Athletic makes, figured they could plus up the audio technology.

    Mute your mic nick!
Baumgardner, for the love of god mute your mic when someone else is talking! Stop ruining an otherwise excellent podcast!

    Sporadic
Love the pod. You guys are awesome. But I have to ask...how do you guys sell advertising when no one knows when you are going to drop an episode? Some form of loose schedule would greatly assist your guys’ following and make advertisers more likely to commit.

    Mock draft.
So the psychic Nick is now reading Jeff Okudah’s mind. And the sea they watch Gene Bone Clancy, and that he should just go out there enough people down in college. What were the lions were one and six everybody and the difference was running around like in people now. They weren’t paying attention to their assignments. The one person who was was as alone constantly trying to make up for other people that were at a position which missed assignments. Clancy is never in the right position where he should be just where he feels like going in that work in college and their scheme. But because he has all the MAs, he won’t get drafted by the Lions. Very thing these two like about Kancey is the one thing that will keep him from being drafted by the Lions. Dan Campbell has a name for that type of play. You may have heard him use it .He hates MA’s. missed assignments are a big no-no in Dan Campbell’s book. Klancey is so busy running around he’s never where he’s supposed to be when he’s supposed to be, he’s just somewhere else doing his thing. That worked in college. It does not work in the lions defensive scheme. That’s why the lions will not draft Kancey

I’m a Bears fan but I still listen.
I have loved listening to Nick talk football since MLive. I grew up in Michigan and the Bears are my team but I still enjoy Nick and Colton talkin Lions and NFC North stuff. Keep up the good work boys!

    Stop yelling/laughing
Great analysis. Nick needs to learn how to finish a thought without wildly laughing or yelling at us, or you, or whoever in the ether. Weird. In addition, the podcast is only a few months old. Yet there are reviews from years ago. Ok then

    Good content, garbage audio!
Podcasts offer two things, content and audio. Here the content is good, but the audio is just complete trash! Maybe some day they will try to put out a quality product, but until then I can’t bear to listen.
  • Kipling's folly
Ok pod, but enough with the nerves
Good content, but honestly, the nervous laughter for no apparent reason gets ponderous. I’d expect it from an amateur podcast, but one supported by the Atlantic? Not so much. Love the Lions, so I’ll stick around, but it’d be nice to hear a bit more confidence and professionalism in the opinion given.

    Good football talk
Listening to Chris and Nick is like being in a conversation with your buddy at the bar, except these guys know what they are talking about. They make being a Lions fan tolerable because we get content like this.
  • Omon601
    Great
Chris and Nick really compliment each other. They are both knowledgeable and trade good points and counter points really well. This one is a gem and Nick might be my favorite personality on a Lions podcast.
  • Nicky v 95
    Great Pod
Chris and Nick are a great pair and they bring a perspective that shows they know the game at a deep level.

    Better late than never
Stumbled onto the podcast only recently but it has quickly become my favorite Lions podcast. Very much enjoy the rapport between the hosts and the combination of levity, realism about the state of the team/players, and technical football content.

    Lions fans are spoiled...
...not with wins, but excellent Podcasts. Add another great one to the list. While I miss Ty, Nick pairs well with Chris to provide insights and try to help fans get closer to the team and game. It’s like listening to your two fun uncles talking Lions. This isn’t a fluff filled podcast though. They mix strategy, team building, game insights, behind the scenes knowledge and do a great job connecting with the audience and keeping the content relevant to the listener. A+ podcast.

    High Quality Football Analysis
Nick “Baby Wojo” Baumgardner and Chris “Vanilla” Burke have created an extremely good podcast here. High level, well reported analysis without any pandering or puffery. While they lack the extreme folksiness + outrageous meticulous sincerity of a Joe Kania + Erik Schlitt podcast, I can confidently say that Vanilla and Baby Wojo are the 1B to the “Detroit Lions Breakdown’s” 1A. They are the Brett Perriman of Detroit Lions podcasts. In an overly saturated media marketplace, they cut through the doom screaming hyperbole of many others, as well as the droll, depressed yet too cool for school tone of a Justin Rogers. You’re doing a great job guys. Make fun of Matt Patricia a little more. When he was fired 3 meatball sub shops in Allen park went bankrupt. -Nick

Nice POD stop typing during the show!
Read the title again. Get your audio corrected also bit of an echo too. But it’s a great pod and I keep listening but just tighten up some technical stuff. The audio borderline sounds like you’re recording sitting in your bathroom then typing notes on your laptop. Content A+ though.

    A New Episode!
I was beginning to think you guys had forgotten about us. Go Lions!
  • BoweryBoy53
Why don’t you have a podcast after the draft...
    Answer: incompetence
  • LionsBlood21
    Great podcast, need more episodes
I love this podcast, very nice guys. Very knowledgeable and know how to manage a podcast. Never a dull moment. I wish If There was more episodes with fast updates. Like their last podcast was almost two weeks ago. Not good.
  • Grobotnik
    Great analysis
Love this podcast. Always a deep dive with a reasoned perspective.
  • Hollaataballa
Great lions content with the insider perspective
I listen to many Detroit Lions podcast but the level of details provided on this show is awesome. Having an insider like Chris reporting on his interactions with the Lions coaching is very interesting and adds another level of insights which I love. Keep it up!
  • arenyk
This weeks episode was one of the best yet!
Maybe it’s just because there’s actually some optimism in this franchise right now but i loved this weeks episode. Been listening since the beginning keep up the good work Chris and Nick!
  • klaystation5
    Incredible
It’s these kind of shows that make me happy I’m a Lions fan (a rare feeling given the state of the team). If I had to put it in a weird compliment, both Chris and Nick would be on the Mount Rushmore of Detroit Lions journalists, if you will. This pod is a breath of fresh air and I hope they continue to make it for a long time.
  • Ryan Toledo
    One of the best
These two are fun. Logical. And have a good back and forth. Look at the lions through a good light. Don’t jump to conclusions and still have interesting banter.

Potential to be the best Lions podcast
These guys are great. I can tell they know what they are talking about when it comes to the X’s and O’s and they play off of each other really well. I have listened to every Lions podcast and this one can be the best if they start releasing even just one more episode a week. Highly recommend to any Lions fan!
  • Phxlionsfan67
    Great podcast
Wish the Lions were as interesting and high quality as this podcast! I look forward to it each week.
  • RunTuWin
    X’s and O’s
I like when Chris and Nick talk X’s and O’s on the pod. Especially what you see on the coaches film. I really like that discussion. You see things from a different perspective than just the Lions stink narrative. Well they stink because players aren’t executing xyz. Football is football and the same things you see on film in high school you see in the NFL. It’s just much faster speed.

    Love this Podcast
I look forward every week to this podcast. Very informative and entertaining.

    Excellent
Look no farther - you’ve found one of the best lions podcasts out there. Excellent analysis.

A weekly must for every NFL fan
Whether the Lions win (ha!) or lose, Chris & Nick provide entertaining and insightful discussion on our beloved team in Honolulu Blue every week. A Great listen.
  • philschut
    Excellent analysis
And frankly, an admirable job covering such a sad sack franchise. I don’t know what spell they have on me (us) but I (we) keep willingly subjecting ourselves to the torture. In all seriousness, Nick and Chris do a great job of breaking down the weekly happenings, film study, and insights. Very much appreciated!
  • wmugrad97
    Just the Facts
I love the fact that you talk nitty gritty football.
  • Wayne Fontes forever
    Must listen for Lions faithful
Easily the smartest takes and insights on our often agonizing but never boring Detroit Lions. Part in-depth strategic breakdown, part support group. All good stuff. Build it in to your weekly Lions fan routine - right after your therapy session.
  • dantheman138
    Great pod!
Love to hear more informed voices about the lions! Keep up the good work, and I’ll keep believing ‘one of these years’

    Return of the (Lion) King(s)
Chris is world class as always, and Nick B. has proven over the first few episodes to be the same. Welcome back, we missed you.

    Rational Lions Talk
Looking forward to this throughout the season. I’ll give this a 10 star review if some angry Nick (see Wolverine Beat) comes out from time to time! In all seriousness, appreciate the insight and content you guys provide.
  • SFHCOMMISSIONER
    Excellent break down
Always liked Chris and his articles and have gotten to know Nick just lately. Together they do a very good job raking this team down with balance viewpoints without the trolling comments or sarcastic opinions. Keep up the great work guys and I’ll be an avid listener.
  • Levi Bootcut
This is what I’ve been waiting for
This is the best lions content I’ve heard by far. In depth analysis from first hand experience. Unbiased and realistic outlook on the team. Huge fan of their articles on The Athletic, and this is that same great content, just for your ears.
