I just finished part one with Will Paterson! I’m new to graphic design and “The Angry Designer” podcast is killin it!

I just came across this podcast a few weeks ago but I’ve already binged half their episodes! The guys are hilarious and so much fun, but also have such great relatable conversations - I just want to be their best friend! 😂 Thanks for the fun chats guys! 😊

There are only so many graphic design podcasts out in the wild that are as thorough and digestible as this one. Very informative and very engaging - especially for this new to the field! Getting familiar with the business side of freelancing has been very challenging so this show is a godsend.

Appreciate these guys truly. Great perspective, and funny banter. Also love the quick whiskey reviews! Just blazing my way through these episodes🤘🏼

These guys are highly enjoyable to listen to, and equally informative. Their “angry” perspective on design and designer-life is refreshing — it’s not sugar coated, that’s for sure. It’s raw, it’s honest, and it’s authentic. I also enjoy how they explore highly unique show themes to share knowledge — one can appreciate the effort (and expertise) it takes to put a theme together, to talk about said theme, and to package it all into digestible nuggets. I’m obsessed.

I have listened to every episode and can’t rate these guys higher. They are fun to listen too and do a great job of being human and also staying on subject. They share valuable and applicable information that is relevant to the graphic design field. I used to have a job at a restaurant prepping food. I would listen to these guys talk and take notes while at my crappy job. Since then I have accepted a job working at a marketing agency doing graphic design. They helped me to get to where I am and can’t thank them enough for the value, time and effort they put into this podcast. STAY ANGRY!!!

When I started listening to this podcast, I was totally overwhelmed by the graphic design industry having just graduated with a degree in art but wanting to embrace a more structured career as a graphic designer. Let’s just say now that I’ve been listening every week, I now own ‘Logo Modernism’, several books about Paul Rand, ‘Logos and Trademarks’ by Yasaburo Kuwayama (a more vintage version of Logo Modernism, thanks to Aaron Draplin during my google/YouTube rabbit hole). I am now finalizing my portfolio and am almost ready to start applying for work as a legitimate graphic designer. Mossimo and Sean have been like mentors I’ve had the pleasure of learning from for the last few months. As soon as an episode drops, I’m there, and every episode is a such a learning experience!! Thank you guys!!! My favorite podcast!!!!

I’ve never been so happy to be angry. As a designer approaching 30 years in the industry, this podcast captures everything relevant to design, the challenges, the clients, the process, and the bourbon. Thank God for the bourbon and thank you both for sharing your design prowess each week.

Legit, this podcast checks every box for real graphic designers! I am constantly nodding my head and smiling or laughing throughout every single episode! The truth, the laughs, the frustrations, every topic is relatable and/or helpful. They add plenty of encouragement for newer designers. And there is something for everyone, from freelance to employed, from soloprenuer to agency owner. Truthfully, even listening to past episodes while waiting for a new weekly drop, I can’t get enough! I’ve been in the design game for quite a few years (roughly as long as Massimo) and I can confirm everything they talk about. But I still get the feeling these guys have my back with those nuggets of encouragement and tips for success. There are so many times I want to be a guest commentator, like a production assistant in the sound booth, so I can double down on the raised fist of frustration, but in a jovial way! Their company’s motto is “We Speak Human.” But even in their podcast, that feeling is not lost. These guys are authentic and it shows.

I’m upset by the fact that these guys are willfully misleading listeners by calling their podcast The Angry Designer. I’ve only listened to a few episodes so far, but I have detected very little actual anger. In fact, they are making a mockery of me with their blatant merriment and mirth. Joking aside, really digging this podcast. Great topics and banter. Looking forward to consuming more old episodes and catching your new ones. I know this takes a lot of work to produce so just want to say thank you!!

This is the first time I’ve left a podcast review, and I couldn’t be happier to do it for the angry designer! I discovered these guys a couple weeks ago, and I’ve binge watch just about every single episode from when they first began. I love the content, they make it very entertaining to listen to and very relatable. Not to mention it’s help me step my game up when it comes to my freelance business. Really enjoy this podcast! Although I’ve been in this creative career for roughly 20 years now (out of school anyways) I still find a lot of relatable material discussed. Some reminders and a whole lot of saying it like it really is! To be honest, they sound like they’d be some pretty cool bearded Canadians to get some drinks and talk shop with. ⚡️😄⚡️

As a complete beginner in the industry, this pod’s has been guiding me and teaching me where to focus, what skills to work the most, and the most important, these people keep it real.

The Angry Designer is genuinely the only design podcast I have ever found that can keep me 100% engaged until the end. The guys make it so fun, I laugh at least a few times each episode, and I take notes like I’m studying for a test.

Started following these amazing fellas pretty much when they 1st jumped on Instagram cause I loved their presence but more so the advice they gave. For some dumb reason, I didn’t get around to listening to their podcast till much later and I don’t know why it took me so long?! Not only do these beautifully bearded, Canadian gents give the actual advice that all designers should get from years of expensive schooling but, they’re rapport and friendship make them so fun and easy to listen to that you just want to join on the fun! Love these guys and their show and someday, I hope to have drank or 2 with them 🍻

You guys are awesome! 🤯 You tell it like it is and don’t pull punches 🥊. It can be really hard to get honest feedback from other designers when everyone is worried about hurting your feelings. I’m so glad to have you as a resource!

I wish I would have found this podcast sooner! As a graphic designer who has spent many nights feeling like I’m a psycho, a masochist or both for choosing this profession… I feel like I’ve met 2 friends who actually UNDERSTAND ME and understand what designers go thru. This podcast describes the experiences graphic designers go through to a t. They aren’t trying to be politically correct and they are honest. Definitely worth it! This has become one of my favorite podcasts.

As a designer early in my career these podcasts are extremely valuable. A year out of design school and with a year of professional designing under my belt I’ve come to realize I have so much more to learn. The topics discussed have helped guide my continued growth creatively and take my existing skills beyond the entry level. All the boxes are checked for me: The real world advice, the hosts are entertaining, and applicable tips I can immediately put to use. I only wish I would have found this podcast sooner.

I just found The Angry Designer Podcast a week ago. Since then, I have binged the past episodes. What separates them from other shows is that they seem to have a down to earth take on the industry. Due to their years of experience and rough edges, they are just more relatable to me. I am looking forward to hearing more from this show. Keep up the great work.

Recently started listening to this podcast a couple months ago. As a new designer (still in college and currently completing an internship semester), this has been tremendously helpful and providing me with new perspectives. Every episode I have listened to so far has been beneficial to me in some way. Whether it’s design pitch advice, “not all projects are gems,” or even just commiserating about Apple products, these guys are a great listen!

I’m a student in Graphic Design and I just stumbled upon these guys a month ago. I listen to them while I’m at work and I’ve been able to put their tips into my own work! Their content has helped me even with my school projects. I’m super grateful for them sharing their side of experience in Graphic Design. Appreciate this podcast and the people who make it happen! I have had a blast and a half with this podcast. It has been extremely helpful (and extremely entertaining) listening to this realistic yet comedic insight into graphic design. As someone who has just begun her journey into the vast (and intimidating) world of graphic design I’m thrilled to have found a voice within that community that is effortless to listen to. As soon as I saw the title “The Angry Designer” I knew this was a podcast that would speak to my frustrated designer soul. Informative, funny, sarcastic, does not pull punches and says everything every designer who has a file called _FINAL_FINAL2_FORREALFINAL_WTF-v37.pdf has wanted to say. Cheers.

This Podcast is deliciously additive! Every episode is laugh out loud funny and super educational. I walk down the street laughing and making comments back to them, I must look like a nut! I’ve recently found these guys and thought it would be full of angry rants about the Graphic Design industry, funny but angry rants much like Bill Burr, but I was only half right! Angry? Kind of, but no more than anyone who just needs to vent. Informative? Absolutely, and the hosts come across relatable and surprisingly concise! Highly recommended!

Most podcasts about graphic design are rather dry. The Angry Designers is a fun and entertaining podcast about from people doing real work.

I’m so happy that I came across this podcast. It’s a really good way to get great advice for my design work as well as get a good laugh in.

How in the world can you say that page experience and performance aren’t related? Speed is a huge thing. You claim that internet speeds are getting so fast that it doesnt matter— thats is so ridiculously untrue, even for people that have high speed western internet. Sub seconds matter. Why do you think people spend so much time optimizing image sizes, cdn’s, bundling and so fourth? The data proves that sub-second differences alone can drastically change conversion rates. Why? Because people have low attention span. No one wants to wait for anything to load— it doesn’t matter how good your content gets; if your optimization is garbage, the experience your users have will plummet. Its not an opinion; conversion rates prove it. Just shows that you’re stuck inside such a specific role that you cant see anything else.

A must-listen if you’ve been in the design industry to any capacity. The perfect mix of controversy, humour, and knowledge
