    So helpful
Currently in the middle of writing my senior capstone for my undergrad about adaptations to stage, and this freaking saved me so much! I got so much information and background on this production that I couldn’t find anywhere else. Definitely worth a listen if you too are a musical/broadway history superfan.

    100% Delightful
Couldn’t have possibly enjoyed this more. I love theater but barely knew of Carrie when I started listening. Less than a week later I’m bingeing bootlegs on YouTube. I love that the hosts have genuine affection for this troubled show and respect everyone involved - it’s juicy & funny without being unkind or scornful. I’ve been recommending it to everyone. A joy.

    Kept me sane
I saved up this podcast to binge on a long trip to see family. Throughout the tumult of the weekend, it was a blessing to be able to escape to the World of Carrie for a time. Thanks to everyone who contributed their time and effort to this podcast.

This Podcast is a True Gem!
I described this podcast to a friend as a “musical theatre queen orgasm inducing version of serial stalking” about one of the most mythic disasters in the theatre. A seriously in depth view of how Carrie The Musical went wrong, voiced by those who were there, but still endures and continues to intrigue and fascinate to this day!

    Carrie and maybe Chess?
This is one of the best podcasts ever, not even just a musical theatre pod. Ever, ever. If you guys consider a follow-up, Chess is definitely worthy... “Nobody’s on nobody’s side”. Just a thought!

    Outstanding
A must for fans of the Broadway musical. Holly and Chris have interviewed almost every major player from the original Stratford/Broadway productions, and the myriad first person accounts are dazzling.

There’s Never Been a Podcast Like Her
Hosts Chris and Holly have hurled themselves at the complicated web of CARRIE THE MUSICAL, they’ve taken us with them, and, boy, we are stuck here! What originally began as a deep dive has evolved into a massive submarine, sweeping like a hurricane through the bottom of the Atlantic. Adapted from Stephen King’s novel, CARRIE may be the “queen of flops,” only lasting 5 performances on Broadway and losing its entire 8 million dollar investment ($17.7 million in 2021), but it is also one of the most discussed, researched, analyzed, reviled, and beloved productions in the history of American Theatre. Its backstory is as compelling as what ended up onstage, and Holly and Chris reunited nearly everyone involved to tell it — including hilarious and endearing accounts from audience members who were actually there. This beautifully crafted podcast explores a show that has been obsessed over and worshipped for decades by millions of fans through bootleg recordings and memorabilia. Even if you don’t yet know CARRIE, trust me, you’ll definitely want to meet her. Start listening now! — Erik Champney

This is a dream podcast for me - Carrie is a great musical with such an incredible journey to the stage. Chris and Holly have fully investigated everything that happened and they tell the story with charm and humor. This is my favorite podcast ever, and I hope this team will do more like it!

    Amazing
The first bootleg I ever bought for $25 in 1995 that came on 4 cassette tapes changed my world forever. Carrie is a constant obsession and this feeds all of it! Thank you!

    Sharp and funny
I’m thoroughly enjoying my trip through Carrieland. It is well researched and written. The participation of Dean Pitchford and Linzi Hately are especially welcome. My one caveat is the English Superfan who stole the original video from the RSC. You selfish git! Why do you think you deserve to rob an archive used by the community? Return it!

Scratches An Itch I Didn’t Know I Had
“Carrie: The Musical” has been this odd little interest of mine ever since I was introduced to it by Riverdale. So hearing the story behind this very weird but kinda great musical (and all the talented people behind it) is quietly blowing my mind. Thank you to the creators of this podcast for delving into this niche topic! Hey, what else are podcasts for, right?

    The Podcast According to Jeff
This podcast is fantastic! I didn’t really discover this musical until a recent LA production a few years back (I hope they discuss it on here), but I quickly became obsessed with the musical. This podcast is full of fantastic research, great interviews, fun co-hosts and it’s so well produced. I can’t recommend it enough for any Carrie the musical fans out there.

    Bloody Brilliant
This docu-pod gives listeners a peek behind the curtain at the notorious and infamous Broadway flop, “Carrie”, based on Stephen King’s book. The musical is stuff made of theatrical lore and hosts Holly and James do a tremendous job providing as much information, especially from cast and crew first-hand perspectives, of the show that ran on Broadway just shy of three weeks total after a poorly received London bow just months before. With as short of a time span as “Carrie” had onstage, this podcast (with ten episodes announced) covering its history will last longer than the show ever did on Broadway. Hopefully there is a way to expand the series beyond ten episodes, because listeners obviously crave more inside information about the short-lived musical after 30+ years. “There’s never been a musical like her.” And there never will be. (Unless Holly and James produce a spin-off covering “Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark”; a worthy sister-production to the titular Carrie White.)

    Wotta Treat! 🤩
This is Bobby Traversa, co-host of the podcast My Favorite Flop. And not only am I a self-proclaimed flop-o-holic, I’d also consider myself a Carrie connoisseur, having been a member of the various related chat boards/trading groups/etc since the earliest days of their existence on the internet. I “bought” the same sketchy VHS that host Chris did, and while I was not interviewed as part of this podcast, I imagine I have connections to some of the folks that were. I say all of that just to show how high the bar was for me going into this... and after two episodes, I’m completely hooked! What a lovely treat that Chris and Holly have given us during this pandemic! For us die-hards, the included interviews help to put in context many of the rumors/legend/lore that we’ve devoured over the years... and for the newbies/Riverdale generation, what an uplifting and thorough look at such an important piece of Broadway history! When I discovered Carrie in high school, people poked fun. It was considered the biggest flop in Broadway history and had to be “bad”. As I studied musical theatre professionally in college, that attitude continued. Many people wrote the show off before even giving it a chance due to its reputation. That narrative has, thankfully, changed thanks to the 2012 revisal of the material and Riverdale exposure (it’s one of the most popular licensed musicals in high schools in the US!) But this... it really is a docuseries, isn’t it?... this docuseries really opens up in a positive and welcoming way to allow fans of all kinds the ability to dive in to the legend itself and perhaps piece together what went wrong. Looking forward to the rest of this. Great job!

    A Bloody-Great Time!
This is THE podcast for not only Carrie the Musical Fans but Broadway Fans in general. From the first few moments of Episode 1, I knew I was in for a treat! Easy to listen to, fun behind-the-scenes stories and interviews all peppered in-between the now infamous story of Carrie. Can’t wait for more!

At least the podcast is a HIT
The Broadway Podcast Network is truly a hit (rare) and miss (most) network. But this is one of the few true and authentic Broadway podcasts offered. They got the interviews, history, humor, and all around great producing down! (Also see eticket to Broadway on same network for similar draws). Two episodes in and I’m hooked.

    Carrie fans MUST listen!
I consider myself to be somewhat of an expert on all things Carrie the musical and I actually learned several things from this podcast. You can tell this isn’t some hastily thrown together high school project. The creators have put in tons of work and research to provide both entertainment and education and that cements it as a truly great podcast in my opinion.

    Episode 1- Brilliant
I have been looking forward to this podcast for a while. When I was young, in summer 1988, somebody gave me a bootleg audio cassette recording of the show after it at recently closed.I was fascinated. I have watched the show continue and I was fortunate enough to see the revival in New York in 2002 and the Los Angeles immersive version. This first episode is filled with so many amazing facts and great contributions from Annie Golden and Laura Dean among others. I can’t wait to continue listening to these podcasts. Great job!
