    A mind-expanding podcast!
I’ve been searching for a good podcast that would help me catch up on understanding global revolutionary history and the way it affects our present and future from a leftist, anti-colonial, anti-imperial, anti-capitalist, socialist, perspective. I think I’ve found it in Guerilla History! Check out their other sister podcasts Revolutionary Left and Red Menace as well which are equally as incredible and deserve a follow.

    Listenable, engaging, rigorous analysis
I’ve been listening to this podcast for the past 6 months during my daily commutes, during chores, and lol during labwork, and I always walk away with a foundation of how to understand each topic I’d previously only had vague impressions of. (Yemen, Haiti, sanctions as siege warfare, the British partition of the Middle East post-WW2, CIA coups, Chinese economic partnerships in Eurasia, the Allende socialist govt’s platform and coalition-building in Chile) The hosts are super listenable to me, remind me of friends who manage to have scholarly gravitas, pop culture literacy, chill but engaging energy, and who sincerely invested in a conversation where you get to discuss and have your most basic or in-depth questions answered. The personalities, speaking styles, and choice of / approach to revolutionary topics are definitely my favorite part of the podcasts. I’ll be recommending this podcast to anyone who’s hungry to understand the historical, materially informed / driven bigger picture of how the each country on today’s earth ended up as the wretched place we see them painted as in headlines in the New York Times, CNN, or Instagram’s “humanitarian fundraiser” ads, lol. I’m deeply in debt to this podcast’s hosts and guests for actually teaching me how to analyze any piece of media (mainstream news, etc.) or any development from any country or region in the world now, whereas the flood of “facts” and default history / social science “education” in the US (that isn’t remotely leftist, and is both communism-phobic and imperialism-legitimizing) just serves to exhaust and confuse its audience. Can’t wait to learn more from the hosts and use this podcast’s energy to step up my material engagement in leftist / anti-imperialist organizing.

    So grateful for this podcast
This podcast, along with Revleft and a couple others, has been so pivotal in my education. All 3 hosts are incredible at what they do and I feel truly lucky to get to listen to them every week. They have incredible thoughts themselves and have clearly spent a lot of years working towards educating themselves. The guests they have on their show are really incredible people who have great insights and experience themselves. I also enjoy how personable Breht, Adnan, and Henry are and how they’re willing to give their own opinions on complex topics without acting like they know everything there is to know. They’re all humble and routinely acknowledge the limits the exist within any one person’s views. I appreciate their willingness to tackle really difficult topics and take the time to explain something well even if it means a 2 or 3 hour podcast. Incredible work!

    The latest episode is gold
Such an informative series -as an example the discussion with South African science communicator and journalist Sibusiso Biyela on decolonizing science and the legacy of vile eugenic experiments that corrupts scientific and medical institutions to this day. Do listen and support the guerrilla pod!

    Vatniks and Tankies
The position taken by this podcast on the Russian invasion of Ukraine is deplorable. These Tankie fools are carrying water for fascists and perpetrators of genocide.

    Learning so many things!
As someone relatively new to Marxism and leftist history, this podcast has been invaluable to learning historical materialist analysis and unlearning capitalist narratives. Thank y’all for all the work you do and how generous you are with sharing it as widely as possible!

    Four hosts, one pod?
The one complaint I consistently have about this podcast is the number of people involved in hosting it. I thought three people, hosting from different locations, was a little extreme. Now they have guest hosts? Just because four people repeat the same opinion doesn’t make that opinion any more true. If you have four hosts, who are making very similar observations, plus a guest, that indicates to me that neither of the hosts nor the guests are particularly knowledgeable. I learn a good deal from the show, truly I do. But podcast by committee, especially when the whole committee is in agreement, is not productive.

    Excellent podcast
Great show with awesome guests that do a fantastic job of breaking down the history that often gets buried from the people. They make complex subjects easy to understand

    Impeccable Program
Consistently one of the best analyses of history through a Marxist lens. They approach each topic with integrity and respect, are well-prepared and don’t simply fill time with irrelevant banter, and are evidently passionate about the subjects they cover

    Breht is a disgusting person
Won't listen to anything with unapologetic Stalinist-platformer and collaborator-abusing opportunist Breht O'Shea on it.

One of my favorite pods right now

    What
Did they really just try to say Bhrett was 24? I knew I could sense some sort of classism going on here like give them dude the respect he deserves…. Otherwise I do really enjoy the information

    Mansplaining ick
I appreciate the themes, the interviewees, and Brett and Adnan, but Henry is an awful mansplainer. It’s profoundly irritating.

The history we were never taught
As a 30-year old, I began to want to know more about my history, which I never cared about in high school. If that’s you too, don’t just read the best-selling books about Lincoln, or watch WWII documentaries. All that is the same basic facts over and over again. Guerila History is about the origins of our modern world, and importantly, the 7 billion people outside of America and Europe who are the great majority of humanity. I love these conversations. Left is Best!
