    Prayers
I know this is a podcast of Bible readings, but I especially appreciate the pastoral prayers. They speak to me and for me.

    Hope for this caregiver 🙏🏻
As a retired UMC pastor, (still under appointment) the Lord is humbling me with a ministry at age 77 as a full time caregiver for my husband (I’m a woman, a mom, stepmom, grand & great grandmother & step grandmother). This Bible in a year pod caste is saving my life, my soul & helping me feel like I have a friend in Father Mike & he is opening up scriptures in a way that I never thought about before! Bless you Father Mike 🙏🏻 Pastor Deborah Hutchins McLean, in the Poconos, PA. I pray for you each day 🙏🏻

    I am not Catholic…
…but I am so very glad that I gave this podcast a chance. Father Mike reading the Word has become one of the best parts of my day - every day! I’ve walked with Lord for most of my life and have attempted (and failed) to read the Bible in a year several times. This format will definitely push me to finish it this time. Mike’s calming voice and his point-of-view have been SUCH a blessing to me!!

    Joy
I hear complete joy in Father Mike when he reads the word and translates to us or prays with us. Best Bible in a year breakdown I’ve ever heard… going on year two of this podcast!

    Great explanation from Fr. Mike
Thank you Fr. Mike. Without your explanation after each days reading, it would have been very hard for me to listen and stick on to this. The Old Testament is very hard to listen to and your putting it in the context of those times helps.

Really appreciate having a podcast available for a daily Bible reading. I commute 30 minutes one way to work. I appreciate your work.

    Tremendous
Thanks Father Mike and Jeff. Not sure I could've stuck it out without y'all. Learning a lot, staying engaged (and actually entertained), and I look forward to it every day. Well done.

Not Catholic but I love this podcast
I love knowing that if I listen every day, I will hear the entire Bible in one year. I am not Catholic but I highly recommend this podcast to any Christian that wants to learn their Bible. After each reading, there is a commentary and I really enjoy the thought-provoking message after the reading.

    Daily meditation
I have been listening for the past 3 years, I look forward everyday listening and the teaching. Brings a lot of peace and allows me to detach from any issues and anxieties. Amazing how each day I learn more and more.

Best podcast in the world! Cant wait to listen every day!
It has been so exciting listening to the Word read aloud every day and then explained! Father Mike does such an amazing job filling us in on the context of the times in which the scriptures were written and how the people behaved and what was common knowledge to them in those days. All of the explanations after each set of readings are what is making me so excited to listen every single day, not skip ahead (which I deeply want to each day) and to leave time to reflect on what I have heard and learned. I am a big reader and I would tremble thinking about a day of judgement where the Lord could say to me that I have read hundreds or thousands of books and never read His word? Well with this exciting podcast that won’t happen. I listened and His word was explained…well. Outstanding quality sound and the reading plan is terrific. I am on day 106 now and will carry on throughout the year. Thanks be to God for Father Mike taking on this heroic effort to record all of these readings. Praying for you Father Mike! 🙏🏻

    Second go around even better
This is my second go around with the Bible in a Year and it has been life changing both times. I can’t imagine a more beauiful gift to the world than this large group reading of the Bible and the anointed, thorough, engaging teaching from Fr. Mike. He truly speaks to the common man and answers every question the listener is likely wondering. What a gift! As a serious believer for a while I still was never able to say that I read the Bible fully…until this podcast. Thank you, Fr. Mike, Ascension Press team and Holy Spirit!!🙏

Absolutely the best!! Need not be catholic to listen
Father Mike is such a wonderful speaker! Began in January along with a group of friends and family. I have tried reading the Bible from beginning to end and have never been successful. This reading makes the goal attainable. I am not catholic and have enjoyed Father Mike and his summaries after the readings so very much!! Subscribe and listen!! You will love it!! Side note, the catholic bible has a couple extra books, so those will be gone through as well

    The Bible makes sense now!
This podcast makes the Bible much more understandable. Reading the narrative books in chronological order, plus excellent commentary, is so helpful!

    Podcast mistake
So I noticed today that when I went to listen to the introduction to the royal Kingdom episode was the production for the Kingdom period but the title of the episode said introduction to royal Kingdom. I thought I’ll let you know the mistake. But I was still able to go back and find the able to the finding when it was posted last year.

    Invaluable! Thank you!
What an excellent way to begin my day! I have added catechism to my routine this year, also. To hear the gospel of John read in such large chunks has brought fresh powerful insights. Thank you 🫶🏻🙏🏼🎉

    Thank You
I’ve been listening since the beginning of the year and Father Mike is absolutely amazing at reading and explaining the Bible. When I’ve tried to read the Bible, it’s just been words on paper, but he makes it real and understandable so thank you so much!!! I’ll see you again tomorrow. 😁

    My life has changed forever
I’ve never read the Bible and I searched for a podcast to listen to and found Father Mike. He’s changed my life forever and I’m so grateful that every day he reads to his listeners and shares the word of the Lord. Thank you — thank you for inviting me back to my Catholic faith and reminding me of Gods mercy. God bless and keep you, always.

Best way to start the day!
I have been listening to this podcast first thing every morning, and it orients my day each day towards what matters most. In particular, I really like how this podcast is structured, with the readings, prayer, and brief reflection by Fr. Mike. I am so thankful I found this podcast and it has inspired me to want to dig even deeper into studying the Bible. Thank you!!!

The Bible in a year is Wonderful!
I look forward to my afternoon walks with Father Mike! His voice is wonderful and his love of the Bible is contagious. I am learning so much and I have been reading the Bible for a long time. Thank you Father Mike and team! Highly recommend!!

    Confession
Between the earthquake and the eclipse was Divine Mercy Sunday. A local church had 4 priests available for penance. After more than 10 years, and after hearing Father Mike's podcast urgings, I decided God was calling me to go to confession. I did, and it was a peak experience. Thank you, Father Mike and Ascension.

    Not Catholic but still
I have left the Catholic faith after my 8th grade confirmation; but here I am at 39 years old growing deeper in the word of God. This podcast has been a blessing in my prayer life! I am so excited that this will be my first year in my life to read the Bible cover to cover! I do appreciate Father’s recap to connect the dots- Old Testament isn’t easy (and I am reading from King James) but not only do I understand but I am blessed with knowledge so that I may steward my family of which half are Christian Atheists.

    What a year!
I turned to this podcast after my sister died. I was looking for comfort and wanting to immerse my self in God’s Word. Thank you so much! I have learned a lot. I enjoyed your enthusiasm for Jesus and God’s Word. Thank you for the daily source of comfort during a very rough year.

    Fantastic!
I have been a lifelong Catholic, but have never read the Bible in full. This has been a game changer for myself and my family!

    IT CHANGED OUR LIVES
My wife and I found Bible In A Year from a tv show on a financial channel talking about it. We tried it and it has meant so much to both of us. Father Mike explains the Bible so well and gives such understanding about the Bible that reading the Bible yourself cannot do. Our younger son died in 2016 and our older son died in 2018. Listening to Bible In A Year has helped us so much with our grief. We feel we know so much more about God and His plan and His love. Our love for God has greatly increased with this increased knowledge. We finished the first year doing Bible in a Year and are now on day 320 of doing it the second year. We thank God and Father Mike so much. After we finish this second time, we plan to start our third year. Jim and Barbara Elmore

Such a good way to be in the Bible daily
I have loved following along this Bible reading plan. I listen on my way to work and I love that Father Mike gives a commentary after reading. It really helps me understand the stories and connections better. I’m not catholic, but this has been a great resource and I recommend it to any Christian.

    This is vital.
Without this I may never have read the Bible. So thank you so much! My intention is to go all through this year and start again next year and do it again, and again and again until either the podcast is no longer available or I am gone.

    Speed of podcast
I know there are different speeds I can play podcast. The regular speed (1x) is a little too fast and the (1/2x) speed is a little too slow. If there was a way to add a (3/4x) speed than that would be wonderful for me.

    Daily Routine
I started listening to The Bible In A Year in January of 2023. I finished all 365 episodes and started over again this year. I discovered that even though the episodes haven’t changed I’m learning even more about God’s plan for salvation this year. I can feel my faith growing and I’m so grateful for this incredible gift. Last year I followed along reading a Bible on Kindle, then I moved to the Ascension Bible in a Year App. This year I’m reading along with a Great Adventure Bible and I’m enjoying the daily episodes even more. Thank you Father Mike.

    Great Biblical Resource
Father Mike rocks. He reads the daily selections then explains them and that is a great way to ensure you understand the teaching.

What more can I say but watch this. This isn’t sure boring old guy yelling at you to stop sinning he is the most humble guy that would never scorn not mock but just reads the Bible in the most loving way

    I LOVE IT!!!
I had never been able to read the entire Bible before. Last year I started a little late, but I followed along with Fr. Mike’s BIAY on my phone’s podcast app. I was able to finish the entire Bible by the end of the year! I find listening to Fr. Mike’s reading and interpretive commentary to be inspiring and exciting! I don’t have any complaints here, but I would like to suggest a hard copy transcript of Fr. Mike’s commentary. I am not an auditory learner, so reading along with the transcript is very helpful for me. I was trilled to see that the transcript was finally available in the podcast. HOWEVER, if I try to follow along with the new digital transcript, my phone is in my hand. I get distracted WAAAAY too easily when my phone is in my hand. 😵‍💫🤳🏻 Last year, I was able to sit down with a highlighter, my “The Great Adventure” Bible, an arsenal of highlighters and colored pencils, a notebook for any lengthy notes on my own thoughts, and a bluetooth speaker to play the app with my phone across the room from me. It was perfect….almost. I would have to get up to pause the app to take notes or to replay something I missed or wasn’t sure I heard correctly. The transcript in the podcast app helps with that part, but I often find myself looking up something I have questions about. Before I know it, it’s hours later when I realize that I’m laughing at funny baby videos on the interwebs, and it’s time to make dinner. 😰😞 (yes. I AM amply blessed with ADHD. 😅) A book of the transcript would be immensely helpful to me, so that I can put my phone aside and focus on the Bible and Fr. Mike’s . If you were to sell that as an affordable book, I would preorder copies immediately! I also think a book would be helpful for the few people who have told me that they have a hard time listening to Fr Mike because he is too energetic or speaks too fast for them. (😬 Sorry Fr. Mike. God made everyone blessedly different! 🤷🏻‍♀️) Having a tangible transcript would also be a very helpful BIAY group study aid for the same reasons I listed above. Thank you for Bible in a Year! It has quite possibly been the biggest boost to my faith I have ever had! God bless you and anyone who had the stamina to read my lengthy review! 😅

Great for listening except for the Catholic lean
Good podcast but wish it wasn’t Catholic 😅 grew up Catholic but left the church for many reasons. Won’t bother listening to the Catholic books of the Bible that are denied for good reason by the rest of the Christian community. If you don’t know why, it was definitely worth researching. Will listen to a Christian Bible in a Year Podcast instead. If you’re Catholic this podcast is great. Not for Christians though.

THE Most impactful Podcast Available! Truly a blessing!
Thank you, Father Mike, for this insightful and encouraging podcast. I was raised Catholic but never read the Bible until God placed it on my heart recently. I tried to read it on my own and truthfully after a few of the books, I encountered Scripture that I did not understand and was confused by. And so, I sought out an audio/explanatory version and found this podcast. I cannot telling you how much you and the podcast have meant to me since the beginning of the year. I listen to 2 or 3 episodes a day while I am on the treadmill (getting healthy physically and spiritually at the same time). There are times when I start an episode in the midst of feeling down or discouraged. I intentionally listen to God’s Word in these times and inevitably leave filled with renewed love, faith, and trust. You are changing my life in real-time and I pray that Jesus draws me even closer. All because of your generosity of spirit and knowledge of the Bible. I am praying for you, please continue praying for me. May God bless you, Father Mike.

    He remains faithful
This podcast is such a blessing. I appreciate how the Bible is broken down, I love how Fr. Mike compares the ancient times to current world. Born & raised Catholic I have never read the Bible cover to cover I like how the Bible is broken down and we can follow along.

    My Life Has Changed
I’ve been a believer for many years, and this podcast has changed my life. I used to open at Trader Joe’s and I would listen to this for 2-3 hours every morning and my life started to change. Soaking in Scripture like that has formed and shaped me in big ways. I’m not Catholic, but I have so enjoyed Father Mike’s perspective on things! He’s a really good teacher and seems like a genuinely nice guy. He definitely adds to to goodness of this show!

    All Time Favorite Podcast!
This is easily my all time favorite podcast! I learned so much about the Bible from this podcast. I was raised a Jehovah’s Witness and the way of reading the Bible as a child in that way logically made me an atheist. Having gone through this podcast I can now make sense of the Bible and am Catholic! This show has great replay value and the host and guests are great! This podcast is uplifting, edifying and life changing!

The Bible is the best book I’ve ever read
I always thought that the Bibles names and numbers were weird, but after listening to this podcasts it’s not even hard for me to understand how the numbers and verses work. thank you for making me closer to god and also for helping me to understand the Bible better.

    Fantastic Bible podcast
I have never read the Bible before and this podcast is a wonderful blessing. I especially like how Mike shares his commentary at the end of each session which puts a nice bow on what you just read. I have always been intimidated by reading the Bible because some of it is hard to follow. But, Father Mike takes all the guess work out of it with his wonderful commentary and interjects a little humor as well to lighten the mood. I’m so proud of myself because I have been pretty diligent and have only skipped a few days. I think technology can be a blessing and a curse but in this aspect it’s definitely a blessing to have this wonderful teaching tool. Thank you Mike and Jeff for this beautiful podcast!!! 🙏🙏
