I/O

61

I/O is an original narrative podcast from Phantom Customer Media. In a near future San Francisco, the haves and have-nots struggle for control of an experimental device called Archive—an ingenious tool that can "record” matter, like a reel of tape, then rewind it to make what is old and dying like new again. When inventor Adnan Lem struggles to deliver what his unique technology promises, a visitor from his past (and his future) starts him on a new path forward.

    Great podcast
This was gripping from the beginning and I really hope they continue with season 2 one day

    Love it but…..
The acting, plot and effects are outstanding. But I am struggling to root for Anand. He doesn’t listen to anyone, he isn’t helpful as of yet. I am sure that will change. But there are so many other characters to care about.

    Smart, Unique, Addictive
I/O presents some really unique sci-fi themes, but it's the character development that ends up being the real star. Characters are perfectly imperfect. Heroes with real backstories that shape their perspectives, but also tend to be their undoing. Evil corporate moguls that privately show self doubt and weakness for personal relationships. This podcast stirs up the right combination of thought and emotion needed to pull you in. I can't wait until season 2 comes out!!!

    Very awesome, want more!
If you're into scifi, highly recommend this one. Great mix of future dystopian / eco and socially-minded themes. Reminds me a bit of Snow Crash, Johnny Mnemonic, and Demolition Man. The characters are all really well done.

    I love this show!!
I stumbled upon this show after a long day with my kids and work. I loved it, the plot, the characters and the tension delivered just the right amount of Science fiction escape. Can’t wait to hear what happens in season two!

Magnetic characters inside an ethereal soundscape
I/O was my first foray into scripted fiction podcasting, and I’m blown away by the caliber of the voice acting, sound design, and narrative pacing. The characters are so well portrayed that they spring up as fully visualized people in your mind’s eye, and the futuristic dystopian landscape populates itself thanks to the evocative sound design. The themes the story explores are also really thought-provoking - especially in 2021, especially in San Francisco. Cant wait for the next episode!

    Immersive and irresistible
I had a long drive coming up and wanted a story to fill the time. This show hooked me in the first couple of minutes. The characters are human. The experiences are realistic (except for the SPOILERS). The foley art is spot on. I could totally see this becoming a TV show. Worth a listen!

    Stunning Sci-fi rabbit hole
Feels frighteningly prescient. The soundscape they’ve created is flat out incredible and you’ll find yourself falling straight down the rabbit hole. Easily one of the most beautifully made podcasts out there.
