Business Movers

by Wondery

Behind every successful business is a story. It starts with a vision and a leap of faith. Along the way, leaders make bold decisions, ride booms and busts, and sometimes, they reach new heights. From Wondery, the makers of the hit series Business Wars, and Lindsay Graham, the host of American History Tellers and American Scandal, comes a weekly podcast that brings you the true stories of the brilliant but all-too-human businesspeople who risked it all. From Walt Disney’s creation of a theme park in Orlando, to the colossal failure of New Coke, Business Movers will explore the triumphs, failures and ideas that transformed our lives.

I enjoy anything narrated by Lindsay Graham. He's has a way of telling a story that is really entertaining. Thank you for all the shows you do!

    Great story telling
I have really enjoyed listening to these Business Movers stories. So much deep background information. LG is the perfect host. After listening, one feels they have a much deeper understanding of the dynamics behind the scenes and a good psychological portrait of the individuals who create these iconic companies. I could listen all day.

    Love it!!!
LG is such a talented narrator, keeps me interested and most of the time I have to binge!

    Can’t get enough
Stumbled upon American scandal and just love the way Lindsay Graham and everyone beyond the scenes can bring a podcast story to life. Started looking for more content when waiting for more episodes and found Business movers and it’s the same feeling! Didn’t know how it could get any better but in desperation for the next episode I subscribed to Wondery and don’t regret it one bit (ads really can take you out of the story). Also whoever made the intro music, I love it! I’ll rewind occasionally just to listen to it. Can you release a full song?!?

    Love this podcast
This is a podcast where I have learned so much! It is presented in a way that is informative and easy and entertaining to listen to. I love hearing background information on events and products and this is a perfect podcast to do that. Thank you for creating such a great show!

Feels like it was written by GMs PR dept
First couple series were solid. Got to the one on GM and it was tough to listen to, quit partway through Episode 2. Felt like it was just PR written by GM and portrayed as an expose. Too bad - liked the earlier stuff but now unsubscribed.

Well researched and written, great storytelling
I’m familiar with a few of the people / stories told and the podcast was true to my understanding yet I learned more and was entertained to boot

    Some idiots are stupid
Love this podcast. Top 3 EVER in my humble opinion. Some people are calling this podcast “slimy” and “dirty,” due to them not being able to watch the latest episode without a subscription to Wondery+. They don’t have the 10 brain cells to figure out how a subscription service works. You know who you are. And if you still need help understanding it, let me dumb it down. You, yes YOU, pay a few little digital green papers to the best podcast service in the world, and YOU get to listen without ads. You can also listen to podcasts one week early so you can feel more valued than other people. Basically, listen through the 2 mins without of credits to show your appreciation for the huge number of people who work on these things. It takes a lot of work, don’t take these golden nuggets of information and entertainment for granted. I love this podcast and I have followed all other Wondery shows. Words can not express how much these podcasts mean to me. (Woah. Got a little Disney there. Sorry. But you get the gist, right? Right?)

Great content, free until it wasn’t
I was happy to sit though the commercials because the content is fabulous. But if they start making select episodes (especially the finale) “subscription only” then I will delete it and find something else to listen too. The cash grab by the tv stations and now podcasts are dumb
  • Matt1829472
    Why subscribe?
I listened to the first three episodes of the General Motors season, and now I can’t listen to the fourth episode unless I subscribe. I find that to be pretty unethical and slimy to be honest. Not a fan of this practice at all.
Apple are a bunch of dirtbags. But these podcasts are free! And I love them. You don’t have to pay money to listen to them. Only to get them ad free and listen to them a week early.

    Great Free Podcast
I have followed Lindsay Graham around various podcasts and appreciate the research that goes into each show. I also appreciate the re-enactments.
  • Teague1117
It’s free! The new Apple update is confusing, but this podcast is still free. “Subscription” only applies to early and exclusive episodes. I’ve been listening every week as normal; the “subscription” stuff is a kinda preview of what’s coming!
  • StinaMasFina
    Very SAD Wondery left Apple
I will greatly miss so many great podcasts since Wondery has left the Apple podcast app. I might consider a different podcast app, but it won’t be Spotify so GoodBye Wondery programs. Some other company will make great podcasts that will be available elsewhere and I’ll be listening to those on my Apple podcast app. Good luck!

    Not worth a subscription fee
I used to like this podcast but they have gotten greedy. Ad revenue and sponsorship wasn’t enough now they want $5 a month for one episode a week. Unfortunate to have to stop listening. 👋🏼
  • Bastardsack
Why are your shows not leaving my podcast update feed, although they’re a week old? Your subscription push is super annoying.
  • fire_extinguisher2006
    Sad to see subscriptions
Loved several series made by Wondery but then they went and took the subscription route in the middle of seasons of several different series

    Steve Jobs
Wow! It is amazing how much we can lose touch of those true inventors that are changing our life daily. I was unaware of the history of this man and his significant contributions. Thank you Mr. Lindsey Graham for your superior story telling and what I feel was a tribute to a true pioneer of technology. Sincere sympathies to his family as they bear the ten year anniversary of his departure.

    Business Movers - Steve Jobs
Love the entire series! This edition was excellent - I didn’t know Jobs had the Pixar connection. The series also shows that someone really can change if they want to. Well done!

    Sets the bar for podcasts
This podcast is great in two ways: First, it explores contemporary history in a way which is engaging and entertaining. I’ve never been so excited to download a new episode than I have with this podcast. Second, the audio production and narration is top notch. This is the clearest, fullest, cleanest audio I’ve heard in any podcast to date. It makes for very easy listening. 10/10, excited to see what comes next!

    I’m hooked!
The storytelling and details are superb. I saw another reviewer mention this podcast was like a movie for the ears and I’d have to agree! Can’t wait for the next season/episode!!!
  • karen from Dallas
A movie for your ears! You won’t stop after one episode. A must for business lovers.
  • Edwile
Narrative Technique off the Charts 👌🏾
Lindsay Graham’s narration is Awesome. He can narrate the story of a guy leaving his living room to the kitchen for a glass of water and keep his audience in suspense wondering: was there water in the kitchen? What happened to the glass ? Did he drink water ? Did it quench his thirst ? I close my eyes and visualize the scenes he narrates like a movie, maybe better. I used to think Frontline’s Will Lyman was the best narrator in the Anglo-saxon world. Now in my head it’s a dead heat between the 2 of you. 👌🏾
  • Doug MacRay
    Excellent storytelling
Fun and engaging, very well done! I like to save up a full season and binge through them, the time flies
  • Yoshi 7
    Please cut the background music
Very interesting stories, but the edgy music is annoying. Please get something else.
  • Ymkov
I used to enjoy this podcast....until it became political
I liked the earlier shows where they talked about how big businesses were formed but the past few months it seems like every episode is completely political. It’s not a fun listen anymore, which is a shame. It seems like they have new writers who are pushing their PC agenda. Can we please get back to interesting stories instead of polarizing ones?
  • trod94
    Very impressive
The amount of research done to provide the listener all the details is impressive. Every story has captivated my attention. I look forward to new episodes each week.
  • Melcoons
    Bait and Switch
Perfect bait and switch. Seems to be happening to many of Wondery’s Podcast. Do a podcast series that actually sticks to the topic, when it’s successful and people are engaged, make it political. Their own previous story about coke in business wars coke vs Pepsi didn't bring politics into new coke
  • Depauwdan
Incredibly impressed with the amount of research and authenticity that go into the reenactments. It’s a very immersive experience. Thank you for what you do.
