    The Definitive War Movie Podcast!
If you like war movies, this is definitely the place to be! I love the dynamic backgrounds from the hosts that all come to the films from a different perspective, but they are all related to the material discussed: a film critic, a military veteran, and a theater actor and director. So, you really get a great mix of from different areas of expertise. Absolutely worth checking out!

    Not Friendly Fire
But close, hosts are just ok.Count on them not liking much. The woman is especially out of place. But let’s face it there isn’t much available in this genre. Worth listening to for free definitely not going to pay for premium. Call it 2 1/2 stars

    Great Movie Reviews
Love their take on war films and even their take on more.... not natural war films like Independence Day!

    Great content
These guys had me hooked once I listened to the first episode. They don’t just examine the film as a film but present the history displayed in the film and explain what accuracies and inaccuracies exist. Definitely worth a listen.

    Worthy Successor to Friendly Fire
In the ashes of Friendly Fire rose up this fine program, made for & hosted by fans of Friendly Fire. If you’re looking for fun, insightful discussion of war films from three even more unique perspectives than the previous show, then come for this new crew and stay for hot takes that’ll keep you involved, if only to return fire on those takes in Danger Close’s super active and engaging Facebook Group. Episodes run a bit longer than FF, but you’ll enjoy the conversation without having to suffer through MaxFun pledge drives or BeanDad controversies.

I absolutely love what this group is doing
This isn’t three people dropping a mic on a table and discussing randomly. This is three military film buffs having a passionate conversation about subject matter they actually enjoy and it shines through on their show and the way they produce it. Dan, Liam and Katie, well done on this show!! I gave you an 8.1 out of 10 on my podcast review show “Just One Listen” and subscribed as well. Can’t wait to see this show evolve as you continue!

    Great Podcast! Thank you!
I’ve never called myself a movie buff, but this podcast is quickly turning me into one! War films being such an important and thought provoking part of our history makes for a great foundation to select films that will take anyone on a trip out of their living room and into another world. Daniele, Katie, and Liam do an amazing job guiding the conversation from the flashy, explosive outer layer of these movies, to the more thought provoking meanings and messages centered at their core. I can’t wait for the next movie!

    Wonderful podcast
Really enjoy this podcast. Loved all the episodes I’ve listened to so far. Loved that they covered “Caine Mutiny”. Would love to hear their thoughts on “Dr Strangelove”.

    Scratches the war movie itch
Danger Close is a worthy and entertaining successor to Friendly Fire. The varied perspectives of the hosts are entertaining in the show is both informational and fun. The episodes are dauntingly long, which is the only real knock, but they do fill that runtime with great content!

    Excellent!
So glad to have a war movie podcast coming out on Fridays again. So far I love the hosts, and I love their choices for film reviews. They have a great research team giving them lots of insight, and they have a good chemistry. Keep up the good work.

Unique and enlightening War film podcast!
These guys know their stuff. They give actual military explanation from personal experiences and compare it to the film in unique ways I never even thought of. Plus the non-military hosts are light and fun and they have a great banter between all 3. Very professionally done, great editing and radio voices. I’m hooked!

Great examinations of war films from varied perspectives
Really a phenomenal pod from jump! All three hosts are thoughtful and thorough in their discussion of these films. I also appreciate the presence of someone who has served the military and can bring that point of view to film reviews. I’m looking forward to more episodes!

    A great listen
A war movie podcast with three distinct points of view from the hosts. They discuss the movie, the context it was made in, and the lasting impact of the movie. Very enjoyable! Can’t wait for the next episode.

Off to a great start for history and cinema fans
Really looking forward to episode 2 after a great introductory discussion about Full Metal Jacket. It seems like the hosts did a great job selecting personnel and I like the mixture of perspectives. I’m also glad that they aren’t simply aping the format of the podcast that inspired them.

Best new podcast to come out
This is a great new podcast where the reviewers look at war movies and consider them both as cinema and as a record of the historical experience.
