Moviestruck: A podcast about movies and the people who watch themEvery week host Sophia Ricciardi is joined by a different guest to talk shop about a different movie. The catch? Every episode's movie is the guest's choice, and any movie is on the table. From Sky High to Ben-Hur, we explore the movies we love, and why we love to watch them.

    The perfect movie companion!!
5 stars across the board! Sophia is such a warm and knowledgeable host and I LOVE the variety of movies she covers with such interesting guests. I’ve been watching the movies first and immediately listening to the pod after.

    Great Movie Recs
None of my friends like watching random movies and discussing them so this fills that exact hole in my life. I use this podcast as a list of movies to watch whenever I’m bored and then I get to hear Sophia and guest discuss and banter about it and it’s perfect! Unless the movies bad but then I can commiserate in the badness with yall. 10/10

I found y’all by accident on recommendations and like the feeling of finding a 20 in your coach cushions it feels like a gift from the gods of little treasures! I downloaded Kung Fury and had tears in my eyes and then Jupiter ascending had my sides in pain lol ! Y’all’re amazing and I am hooked downloading everything so I have some fun to listen to at work!

    Fantastic
This is a great podcast; much variety of movies discussed, very insightful, such witty banter, wow. Request: please do an entire episode surveying your opinions of various historical movies in terms of their historical (in)accuracy vs. their historical (in)authenticity. Or to put it another way, please review your favorite history movies in terms of the details vs. the vibe. For example; I loved your episode on Gladiator and how you had a lot of positive things to say about it even when you acknowledged parts that are a bit of a stretch historically, but where those liberties still serve the authenticity of the Roman culture the movie is communicating. ‘Master and Commander’ I think rates high in both historically accuracy and historically authenticity (ignoring for a moment that it’s a fiction), whereas ‘Elisabeth’ with Cate Blanchett seems wildly historically inaccurate yet still somehow feels historically authentic and communicates the vibe of this Tudor monarch pretty well—even whilst getting so many of the details wrong. I would be very curious to hear your thoughts on these types of films and what you think works well, what’s forgivable, and what’s not.

Like a Movie Night with Friends!
Have you ever watched a movie with your friends & it became less a silent “shut up and watch” event and more a raucous “Why the f*ck did that happen” discussion? Well, Sophia and friends deliver that same fun liveliness, but in kickass podcast form. If you want to learn more about some movies and occasionally laugh at their expense, you’ve found the perfect podcast!
