Really enjoyed this podcast! Very motivating for me!

I first stumbled on this podcast while listening to another nature series and it came up as an ad. I added it to a playlist for the next time I would need a podcast to get me through life with an adventure. I remember stepping outside in the cold morning deciding to finally listen to it, the sky was a soft blue and the cold bit at my cheeks. I walked and I found myself in a story that was hard to put down, or in this case stop listening to. It became a daily thing listen to the podcast on a walk, every few days. Overall, Trail weight was more than a hike up the JMT--to me it was a story about life and the chaos in it, and the beauty. I know I cried a few times during the episodes, laughed or felt my heart lunge like lion at prey. Thank you to all the creators for doing such a lovely job!

This is just a really solid podcast. It’s got a great, compelling narrative. It’s inspirational and aspirational. It’s heartfelt. Narrator has a great voice. It even dives into the problematic history of our National Parks! It really has everything and is unlike any other podcast I’ve listened to. Very much worth a listen.

This is such a great podcast that combines Andrew and Rocky’s adventure on the John Muir Trail (and the months leading up to it) along with historical background information on the Sierra Nevadas. I appreciate his and Rocky’s honesty and vulnerability whilst on the journey about both the ups and the downs.

As usual Andrew has a unique gift and talent too narrate and tell a story ... and a long way give insight to many areas of life… Good stuff

I loved the second episode even more than the first! When you “go there” and get honest/vulnerable we go there with you. It’s really beautiful. Tell Rocky she’s not alone. The first time I pooped outside was in the ocean;) Can’t wait to see/feel where you take us next!

Andrew’s experience in the podcasting world really comes through in the technical and structural quality of this show, but that is nothing compared to his willingness to open up emotionally as he brings us along for his arduous and dramatic journey. And shout out to Rocky! who acts as a companion, witness, and alternate lens through which we experience the journey. Well done! I can’t wait for the next episode!

I’ve really been enjoying hearing Andrew’s take on the trail. It’s so true that hiking is as much about mental preparedness as bodily preparedness. Andrew has an innate story telling ability and a great outlook on mental health. Well worth adding to your list of podcasts!
