Arts #188Books #65

Taking the concept from Brian Lamb's long running Booknotes TV program, the podcast offers listeners more books and authors. Booknotes+ features a mix of new interviews with authors and historians, along with some old favorites from the archives. The platform may be different, but the goal is the same – give listeners the opportunity to learn something new.

Kirschner is the ultimate example of a hypocrite.
It was maddening to listen to the “disingenuousness to the extreme” and “down right phony, hypocritical Kirschber. I barely got through this episode due to his palpable hatred of President Trump. He is all in for the horrid election interference and political persecution by his injudicious procedures to remove the current leader for President by willfully circumventing the Constitution. He was an absolute galling outrage with his diabolical disregard for truth. He screams justice, justice! He is absolutely disgustingly unjust by his incredibly contemptible fabrications.

    Disappointing
Just listened to the interview with Dorian Lynskey, author of Ministry of Truth. The interviewer didn’t seem to have read the book. He acknowledged that it was NOT an Orwell bio, but then asked all his questions as if it was, ignoring most of the content of the book. It also sounded more like he was going down a prewritten list of questions, rather than listening to the interviewee and engaging with him. Maybe this was a one-off. I’ll try giving it another chance sometime.

I love this podcast! Brian Lamb seems to read my mind, asking the very questions I’d like to ask. His interviews are laid back and engaging — the way he draws out the person he’s interviewing is so enjoyable, I always want more. Thank you Brian Lamb, your absolutely wonderful!

    We Can’t Sacrifice Lamb
Brian Lamb is one of the best TV interviewers I’ve ever come across. He has a Socratic type of interview style: no gotcha questions, or show-off what he knows attitudes. He constantly has the viewer in mind & asks the questions that the viewer might have. Keep reading, Brian, & keep interviewing.

    My favorite podcast: C-SPAN Booknotes
Brian Lamb, creator and guiding spirit of C-SPAN has a gift for selecting and investigating and interviewing authors of a wide variety of nonfiction books. His age is only a number as he shares his curiosity, reporting skills and conversation with us. It helps that topics that interest him are usually ones I would select too. While I have enjoyed many podcasts, this one really educates and stimulates my brain. Thank you, Brian!
