Fit Body, Happy Joints ® podcast
I have been listening to Fit Body, Happy Joints ® for about a year and have been doing the exercises from Evlo along with it! First of all, Shannan and everyone else are so good to instruct first and give different options for doing exercises. They are sticklers for proper form and for the proper mentality about exercise. I have been so impressed with the teaching and I have learned so much about how to take care of my body while building muscle! I am 65 years old and I am building my soul by doing this program in addition to proper nutrition. I can’t believe how good I feel and how thankful I am that my sister-in-law told me about this program. Thank you, Shannan and for caring about passing along the way to a healthy lifestyle. Polly

    Love her science based research
after listening to a handful of podcasts, Dr. shannon made me realize that I’m likely overtraining my body. I’m week 2 into her app and I have more energy, body feels less “beat up” and muscles are toned. Thank you for inspiring me with science based research to follow your approach!! I’m a huge fan of strength training and did not want to give it up… Just had to find a way to dial it back.

    Lacking Info on Research
I think the podcast comes off as well researched but in many episodes where research is mentioned there is not information shared on the study group. For example most studies are done on white men, not women, not POC, so it’s not completely inaccurate. It’s clear that whatever she’s putting out is to sell her workout app. It’s okay, some good info but heavily biased.

    Exceptional Podcast!
Love, love, love this podcast! Shannon is so generous in providing immensely helpful information, particularly for those of us who have been prone to over-exercising and not seeing the results we want. And I say this from the podcast information only—I have not yet joined Evlo, her exercise platform, only because I have a series of upcoming vacations, after which I can truly focus on her method. I highly recommend listening to her series. I loved the first one I heard so much that I’ve been working my way through all of them!

    AMAZING podcast!
I could listen to her all day! Shannon provides digestible knowledge and information. I like how she emphasizes gentle consistency and that you don’t have to lift heavy to get results. Results and protect my joints? I’ll take that! I have learned so much from her and look forward to more episodes!

    My favorite podcast!
The best podcast to listen to - Shannon only shares information from her expertise and invites guests on the show to share their expertise! The content is SO good and I trust her sources and research. Such good topics - I love thursdays because it’s new episode day!

    Excited to learn more!
Starting listening because I have been a runner and pilates gal for three years and am not seeing the results I want. Was curious about weight lifting and after listening to only a few episodes, SO many of my concerns have already been addressed. I have a lot of great lifestyle habits already (no alcohol, quality sleep, daily movement) but am ready to take my fitness to the next level. Excited to keep listening and learn more about how to not only achieve my goals but look and feel my best!

    A+ podcast in all aspects!
Shannon is very gifted in distilling lots of complicated research into a comprehensible “serving” of information that you can take with you and use immediately. She doesn’t pack too much information into one episode that it’s impossible to digest or remember. I also really appreciate that she is incredibly efficient in her delivery — she is friendly and personable, yet doesn’t waste her listeners’ time with “fluff”. She gives enough examples to illustrate her points, but not so much that it becomes redundant or tedious. Just really well done.

Great podcast, great host and content!
Recently came across the Fit Body, Happy Joints podcast and am really enjoying it. Really appreciated the episode about how to use (and not) use fitness wearables. Also, the episode with Registered Dietitian, Esosa Osagiede, about carb cycling. This was such a clear explanation of the process and so helpful! So many amazing takeaways! Can't wait to listen to more episodes! Thank you!

    Incredibly Helpful Fitness Knowledge
I started listening to these podcasts due to my lower back pain/interest in managing it through fitness, and since then I have also begun the Evlo Fitness program. I am so very thrilled with the quality of these podcasts and how helpful the knowledge is for my year before 40 fitness journey. Used in combo with the Evlo program, I am seeing such great results!! Definitely my favorite health and fitness podcast out there!

    Shannon gives us so much!
I have been a longtime listener and member of Evlo (Shannon and team’s strength building program app). This podcast is most effective when used as a companion to Evlo, but it’s also a great way to begin learning about the body, mind, fitness, mechanics, etc. Shannon gives us so much in terms of knowledge and resources — she doesn’t take on advertisers, keeps the episodes super succinct but jam packed with info. Because of her, I’m able to truly believe that rest is just as important (if not more) in the process of building strength as the workout is. I even re-listen to old episodes because they are so satisfying, and I integrate something new that I might have missed the first go-round.

    Awesome Podcast!!
She is interesting and seems to hv her own personal experience with the subject she is talking about .. She is kind but direct with the information to educate you on. Looking forward to listening to more of these but also working on my Leanness for 2024 !!

    The info we all need!
I used to be very in-tune with my body, but after years of over-consuming generalized information on social media, mostly by influencers, I found myself lost. I’m someone who likes to understand the ‘why’ behind everything, not just the trending headline. Enter: Fit Body, Happy Joints. After listening to this podcast for a few months, I finally understand my body and it’s needs better than ever. I am so appreciative of the knowledge and research Dr. Shannon puts into every episode. She explains complex topics in a manner which is easy to understand, and without bias: just the facts. I love listening to new episodes while walking my dogs, and then working out immediately after. The podcast episodes always leave me feeling more connected to my body, and as a result, I get more out of my workouts (especially when the knowledge is fresh in my mind). After listening to this podcast for months and trying other fitness programs with mediocre results, I finally signed up to be an Evlo member. I’m so excited to use the science-backed programming and resources to become even stronger and healthier.

So relatable and actionable information, but not dumbed down.
I consistently get a lot out of these episodes! I’ve been avidly interested and engaged in personal health, nutrition and fitness for a couple of decades now, and have easily listened to over a 1000 hours of podcasts on these subjects. Dr. Shannon has a way presenting ideas in concise and fresh ways. This is so helpful for staying interested, injury-free and motivated for workouts. One of her talents (of many) is being relatable and practical, but not dumbing-down the understanding.

    A must listen!
This podcast is enjoyable and interesting to listen to and Dr. Shannon does a fantastic job of making science based and research backed information easy to understand and implement. She cuts through the “influencer” junk so you can focus on what you need to get results and stop beating yourself up. Also - huge applause for no commercials! I don’t feel like I’m being bombarded will a sales pitch. THANK YOU!

    Love it!!
These podcasts are the best! I find myself having to replay and take notes with some of the episodes like I’m in college. Just that informative and stuff most people just don’t know! The Dr. Ben Bikman episode is my absolute favorite. I’m total groupies of you and him now! Thanks for all you put into this. It’s obvious you have found your true passion!!💖

Learning so much - great podcast to add to your weekly listens!
I listen to this podcast often when I’m meal prepping, cooking, or driving. The insights and tidbits are not only fascinating and easy to put into action, but also digestible. Shannon gives you the spark notes of hours of research so you leave each podcast with action items

    Shannon is so articulate!
As a fellow PT, I am so impressed by how Shannon can articulate the key points on a subject. It’s evident how much time she spends researching the topic and then finding the most concise and helpful way to say it all!! Highly recommend this podcast and also Evlo Fitness! You are great, Shannon!

    BEST PODCAST
Most informative, research-backed podcast I’ve come across! Real industry expert(s) who thoroughly review science-based studies on each topic and don’t speak to issues outside their expertise without bringing on an expert or sharing objective measures from reviewed literature! Shannon (and her team) do an amazing job of bringing their audience true knowledge on topics within the fitness industry while debunking unsupported terminology and claims that can lead the average layperson astray. I have learned so much from this content and absolutely LOVE the EVLO exercise program as well! Such a quality podcast and fitness program (although they are not completely tied together) through and through!!

    Life changing !
At age 50, I am finally not in pain everyday from too much or the wrong kinds of workouts. Listening to these podcasts made me a believer in Dr.Shannon and I became an EVLO member . I’ve been practicing EVLO for 1 yr and am in the best shape of my life and feel the best too. I wish she was around 30yrs ago when I started working out - thinking I was helping my body but I was really hurting it. These podcasts are so informative and she backs everything up with studies and research . It’s not just a random influencer and their opinions to make money . Thank you, Shannon, for providing this education!
  • Melysa S
    So informative and approachable!
I finally found a podcast around fitness that is backed by research while feeling approachable. The delivery is created in a way that is palatable and not overwhelming. For once, it doesn’t feel like it needs to be a 20-step process to work toward your fitness goals.

    Game changing
The education and insights I’ve gained from Dr. Shannon and this podcast (also as an Evlo member!) have truly changed my life. After having my 2nd baby after years of secondary fertility struggles, I was desperate to feel like myself again and needed a new approach to manage my overall health. The information is truly research based, with advice delivered in a pragmatic way without any scare tactics! I tell anyone who will listen to check Dr. Shannon and Evlo out-listening to this podcast will change the way you think about not only fitness but your entire lifestyle!

    Research-based, Informative, and Gender-Inclusive
I am very happy to have found this podcast, which has been the most informative fitness podcast I’ve ever come across. It is research-based. Also when most other fitness podcasts have either a gym-bro vibe (and aims toward mostly only male audience), or a “i’m a yoga lady and i like to dress up fancy come buy my product” vibe (and aim at only woman), this one is gender-inclusive and sincere. Thank you so much for bringing this podcast alive :D I listen to it every day when I commute or work in the library. I’ve learned so much from it.

Inspiring and Helpful, Gives me a different point of view.
Fit Body Happy Joints has been my latest favorite podcast to listen to. I’m a newly certified personal trainer with a background in nursing and physical therapy and I love Dr. Shannon’s perspective and personal knowledge and experience in the fields of health. She is very thorough in her research and provides many different sources of information. Her latest podcast, The Thanksgiving Episode, was great, and inspiring to touch in more with those thoughts and mindset she has learned over time. Will definitely keep her podcasts in my recently played! #happy & healthy

    Worth every listen
I never rate podcasts, but this is my all time favorite podcast. If you’re into health and wellness, I highly recommend. There are never any ads and Dr. Shannon presents research based information in a way that’s easy to understand and implement.

    Evlo is a game-changer ✨
I’m so thankful for the weekly wisdom from Dr. Shannon and her incredible guests on the best sources of gentle consistency in all areas of life; health, wellness, fitness, etc. This podcast provides incredible knowledge on best practices that support a healthy, happy body (for women and men) from a mental, physical, and emotional standpoint. My Evlo dude and I are loyal FBHJ listeners and Evlo members! We have the rest of our lives to workout (thanks to the concept of gentle consistency with fitness and lifestyle behaviors) and we love the guidance, wisdom, and concern from the Evlo team through the podcast and classes. 🩵

    Everything makes sense now
My doctor recommended this podcast, and I’m so glad she did. For years I’ve been overworking my body and joints, feeling depleted and like I wasn’t progressing. Listening to this podcast just helped everything finally make sense. I’m planning to become an Evlo member once I can afford it! I’d love to hear Dr. Shannon’s opinions on supplements and if she thinks they can have a positive effect or a negative effect. (ie. pre-workout, BCAA’s, Creatine, collagen, etc). Thanks again for the amazing podcast, I am truly so grateful!

    Very informative
Really like this podcast, informative and rational approach to health. And one can have to listen more than once, because the topic can be really complicated. But well worth the while. Also great references to source material.

    Great info!
You can really tell that Dr. Shannon has put so much work into this by the level of research and knowledge she shares. She explains everything so well and has made me much more aware of my habits and the way my body functions. So amazing!

    Essential for women over 40
I’m so happy to finally find a place where I can learn how to build muscle without continuing to put force on my joints. Shannon has helped my body and my mindset completely. There is a lot of emphasis in the “menopause community” on weight lifting but watching those women lift so much “iron” was intimidating and scary when thinking about my joints. EVLO has been my solution. :)

    Love this podcast
I've been in fitness for 20+ years and have always loved strength training. I've been a personal trainer, spin instructor and have trained for powerlifting goals. I also have 3 children. Now all adults. As a 50 year women I've been through many phases of fitness. I've had injury and used PTs very often. I feel like I know a lot but the the way Shannon and her coworkers explain fitness and the science behind it really just helps take all the jumbled info we get and make it clear and 100% make sense. I've loved listening and learning. I feel so much less anxiety about my own goals now that I feel like I understand everything better. Thank you for doing this. I've recommended it to many friends. 💪🏻

    Love the Values and Facts!
Shannon backs everything with evidence and studies. She is honest and focuses on facts and what is best for our bodies. She is not focused on doing what’s in fashion for likes and money. I am so thankful for the information she shares. She is so encouraging. I have binged the entire podcast over the last couple of weeks, and will continue to go back and listen to episodes to solidify the information in my mind. Thank you, Shannon!

Life-changing workout program that's worth every penny
I've been doing EVLO for over two years now, and I can confidently say that Evlo is the only workout program I've ever been able to stick to. I stumbled upon Evlo after the birth of my first child, and it felt like I had finally found the missing piece in my fitness routine that I'd been searching for my whole life. What sets Evlo apart is not just the workouts themselves but the incredible team led by Shannon. Their knowledge and expertise are unparalleled, making everything else out there seem like a waste of time. I've tried a couple of other programs along the way, but I always end up coming back to Evlo because it's in a league of its own. Evlo has been with me through thick and thin, from pregnancy to postpartum for my second child. Thanks to this program, I feel stronger and more confident as a mom than ever before. The philosophy of gentle consistency that Evlo promotes has not only transformed my workouts but also spilled over into other aspects of my life. I've learned to listen to my body, recognizing when I need to slow down and take care of myself, which is an invaluable lesson. What's remarkable about Evlo is the anticipation it creates for each workout. I genuinely look forward to my sessions every week. And even when finances have been tight, I've appreciated the flexibility of being able to pause my membership for a month or two and still access the free classes without missing out on progress. Feeling strong and confident in your own skin is an incredible achievement, and Evlo will undoubtedly get you there. In my opinion, it's hands down the best workout program ever created. You won't regret adopting this methodology. It's an investment in your health and well-being that pays dividends. In summary, if you're looking for a workout program that delivers results, offers flexibility, and promotes a holistic approach to fitness, Evlo is the way to go. It's been a game-changer for me, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

    I am ALL in!
Implementing what Shannon has taught me from this Podcast, even from the first episode I listened to, has made such an impact to my body and my life. The way we move and workout each day makes up our life - and if we can do it smarter and more mindfully, then everything about our daily experience changes. Thank you, Shannon!🙌

The health & fitness podcast I’ve been looking for
Shannon is the fitness expert I’ve been looking for my whole life. She explains the truth in between all the contradictory fitness tips that you’ve heard your whole life (ex: you need cardio, you don’t need cardio) and breaks down the science in a way that’s easy to understand. She does a TON of research using high quality scientific studies and meta analysis. Shannon provides tips for practicable application whether or not you’re a member of Evlo. She doesn’t take any extreme views and is open to new research that may challenge her opinion as she learns more. Some of the topics may be a little dry for those not interested in the data and science, but I personally find her podcasting approach concise and enjoyable. For those who want to benefit from Shannon’s expertise, without listening to all her podcasts, try her Evlo fitness app. You’ll get all the benefits from her method and expertise and I can’t say enough good things about how it’s changed my life for the better.
