Kitastrophe2Grace has the Best Voices! The Sleepy Bookshelf will always be my favorite! Grace‘s characters bring the stories to life like no other! I find myself listening while crafting or doing laundry or cooking because I love her delightful voices and her delivery allows me to understand the stories in a way I never imagined possible. Some nights I don’t want to fall asleep, but I’m out like a light after a short time every night. Phenomenal. Thank you so much.

pinknpuppiesLove, love, love!I've been listening to The Sleepy Bookshelf for a few months now. I always have it on as I'm falliog asleep. Elizabeth is my favorite narater, and Anne of Green Gables series by LM Montgomery is my favorite collection on the bookshelf. I have very high anxiety, and The Sleepy Bookshelf not only helps me calm down before bed, but has also opened my mind to meditation with the "wind down" segment. Thank you Elizabeth and team for creating this beautiful podcast. You have a listener for life in me! :-)

no nightmaresNo nightmaresHer voice is so soothing and beautiful and I love all the stories 🥰

EugenemountaineerChanges in voice are startlingI want to like this podcast. The stories are good and I like the reader’s voice however she changes pitch, tone, and sometimes volume when switching between characters. I find it enough to jar me awake.
-
HuckleberryPieLove this Podcast!Elizabeth does such an amazing job of reading, the accents, and the cadence. Highly recommend, whether you want to relax in a good story or fall asleep gently. So far I’ve listened to Heidi and The Secret Garden. Loved both.
-
Does it really matter53Love it so farI love the narrators voice and the stories. I just wished they grouped each story into seasons or made it easier to find the stories using the drop down. I don’t listen to the stories in order and it’s a pain when I have to scroll a lot to get back to story I was listening too.
-
Insomniac 64Santa Claus storiesI so wanted to listen to these readings. Unfortunately the audio quality made it difficult for me to hear what the narrator was saying. Her voice sounded muffled and it was challenging to understand her enunciation.
-
AmbersbugWonderful PodcastI could listen to Elisabeth read books all day. I don’t sleep to them because I’m so interested in what is going to happen next. The Sleepy Bookshelf is my way of relaxing in the evening with the soothing music in the background.
-
The kind bookI love this but the addsThis is great but I can’t sleep through the adds and I’m not aloud to buy the premium 😔so maybe you could read the adds or just pick calmer adds also can you do more kid apropiate books because slumber is too young for me and I like book in general
-
Anna MoB4Pillows@hard to listen-not soothing voice she does have a calming voice and it is a very somnerific podcast
-
PSIDO5The Enchanted AprilI’ve been listening to The Sleepy Bookshelf for a few months now and I can’t recommend it enough. It took me about six weeks to finish The Secret Garden because I just couldn’t stay awake and now l’m on episode 15/15 of Enchanted April but four nights in I still haven’t heard the ending! Elizabeth’s voice and soft, smooth reading is guaranteed to sedate anyone. Amazing.

360 fanJust lovelyI’m can’t tell you how much I look forward to falling asleep every night to a very nice British woman speaking softly in my ear 🥰
-
Ginger from FLHard to listen - not soothing voiceNarrator very nasal. Very nasal voice. And speaks in a staccato fashion. The narrator voice more important than the storyline because that's what should be soothing!! This is not job for her.
-
frauleinoAmazingI’ve always had trouble sleeping, but it helped me go to bed every single night. Her voice is calming
-
S.C. girlBetter than AmbienElizabeth does a beautiful job of sharing her gift. A soothing voice with calm, loving presence. I look forward to my next visit.

cats are adorableNot premiumRelaxing, but I want Peter Pan and more Marvelous Oz

marketpopTreasure IslandUsed to be a favorite but I cannot get Premium Subscription to work anymore, and I don’t listen to adverts, so I guess I’m no fan. Sad.
-
KdvosperHow can you make it subscriber only in the middle of a book?Truly cannot sleep without this podcast. I have been using it for years now. I would normally give this show five stars. However, I am now unable to listen to Treasure Island in the MIDDLE of the book because the two most recent episodes have been changed to subscriber only. That feels really unfair to change it while the book is still actively happening. Some of us live paycheck to paycheck and we can't be subscribers. I am thoroughly disappointed and annoyed by this move.

Catboat 1927Outstanding!The real star of The Sleepy Bookshelf is Elizabeth Grace and her mesmerizing, soft, enchanting, voice ! It is my security blanket! I listen at least 4 times a week. The variety of audiobooks and short stories are certainly diverse and appealing to most . My all time favorite, so far, had been “The Enchanted April”. Thank you Elizabeth for helping me get a good night sleep. Karen OConnell

drzoolittle**EDIT: lots of cuts in episode 8 of treasure islandEDIT; there are a lot of cuts in episode 8 that just cut off what Elizabeth is saying. Even her name is “I’m -bith” and the catch up part had 4 cuts. Just flagging for your team! Original subject: Fantastic - please do all Anne of Green Gables series!! My favorite podcast to fall asleep to - please do the entire Anne of Green Gables series, they’re my favorite! The jane eyre book was surprisingly creepy and I ended up not finishing listening to all of it, just because I like more wholesome positive vibes for going to sleep - as my dreams get quite imaginative. Thanks for such an amazing podcast!
-
Ali2083Used to be greatThis podcast used to be great. All of the obnoxious commercials have ruined it. One or two calm commercials would be fine. But many loud overstimulating commercials on a sleep podcast defeat the purpose.
-
🩷 Agatha all along🩷Love it! Slay!Omg were do I start?!?! Look the sleepy shelf is an amazing podcast! not only for sleep but for self regulation.slay I love the sleepy Bookshelf everyone in my house uses the sleepy Bookshelf to go to bed! Thank you Elizabeth! Try it for yourself! Good night!
-
ColoradoOdieLove this podcast!I have yet to hear an entire episode of The Sleepy Bookshelf, as I fall asleep so quickly listening to her soothing voice! I had checked out audiobooks from our public library to help me fall asleep, but their voices weren’t always conducive to sleeping, or I’d get too invested in the story. But with this podcast, I know her voice is perfect and I’ll get a recap of what I missed in the next episode. It works wonders for me!
-
firstmamabearAwesomeLove the Sleepy Bookshelf. Her voice is agreeable and soothing. Less advertising at the beginning would be nice
-
DannerzzLove!!Thank you for this podcast! I look forward to sleeping now because I love “reading” these books with you before I sleep. Please consider doing John Steinbeck’s Cannery Row or Travels With Charley. Thanks!
-
The Sound of LoveMedicineThank you for what you’ve built. I’ve only just discovered the world of sleep podcasts and find yours to be theee most comforting and soothing. I’m a long time insomniac and your work is new and lovely medicine.
-
MGL222Thank youLove Sleepy Bookshelf. Your Presentation is wonderful. And your voice soothing Could you possibility consider reading Age of Innocence and more books by Elizabeth Gaskell. I love that you do read the entire book and then the recap. Thank you for sharing
-
ILikeStitch626Love ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥Ok I love this podcast do you think you could read sleeping beauty or other stories ❤️🔥❤️🔥
-
squashandolivesSoothing voiceI can’t help but fall asleep listening to the narrator’s soft, comforting tone.
-
👑🐆🐅🐈🐈⬛LoveI love the sleepy bookshelf. I recommend it for anyone who has trouble falling asleep 💤. it is so relaxing and the vast majority of of books is astonishing 🤩.
-
marieffffffThe ads ruins the podcastI like the narrator’s voice but the entire point of this podcast is to help one drift off to sleep and in between episodes are the most obnoxious ads which ruin the whole experience.
-
comomaloloHelps me sleep or keeps me companyI only gave four stars because I pay for Slumber Studios premium but occasionally get the version with ads in my feed. Like today/ Elizabeth’s voice is so restful but she also portrays the different characters quite well.
-
Swifties for life!13!Sense and sensibilityThis podcast is so GOOD! I absolutely love this podcast I fall asleep in 10 minutes I recommend this to anyone who has a hard time falling asleep at night please don’t stop sense and sensibility please pretty please! Thank you so much!
-
Felix TCIncredible voicing!Elisabeth portrays all the characters convincingly and somehow balances compelling and calming storytelling . I’m deply grateful for access to classics I’d missed as well as favorites enjoyed anew.
-
Anicca31Sense and SensibilityHow can this podcast get the listener through part 22 and then require of them to be a subscriber in order to hear part 23? Of 25. Very frustrating.
-
مـــنــو 🤟🏽🌱✨Amazing I definitely recommendI love this podcast..(A soft place to land) I was interested in it❤️ this podcast is amazing, keep reading sense and sensibility please!
-
Still the best.NiceNice
-
VTlistensRE-DO OR REMOVE THE ADS!!It’s impossible to just let the podcast play through to the next episode because the ads are SO UNBELIEVABLY LOUD and obnoxious. Understandable that you have to have ads, but why not just record them in a soothing and quiet voice? Some of us would like to listen to more than one episode without being SCREAMED at in between.
-
jjdsthvhI go to sleep within 10 minutesI have a hard time falling back to sleep. Elizabeth has a soothing voice which works like magic. I like the stories and the way she portrays each character.
-
ResalovestimetravalfictionEven if I wake up, it puts me back to sleepI wake up every hour during the last 4 hours of 8. As long as I don’t start thinking about real life, then I always go back to sleep within 5 minutes. I like the male voices better. I also like descriptions of country side and nature. Main reason I re-listen to Journey to the Center of the Earth. Please Consider reading one of Jack London’s books. Update- The Enchanted April is my new favorite. Typically go to sleep during episode 1 or 2 but I have listened to all the episodes to hear the story. Another suggestion is a Room With a View. Many characters so would be a challenge.
-
iNewbie18Saving the NightThank goodness for this app. It has put me to sleep on many restless nights. Sometimes I don’t even get past the recap. Elizabeth has the perfect soothing voice for reading the books. I would hate to meet her in person; I might fall asleep mid conversation.
-
Ella.25429Love this podcast!I’ve been listening since the beginning and I love this podcast. Elizabeth’s voice is so soothing and I couldn’t imagine anyone else telling the stories. People complain about the ads, but since they’re at the very beginning, they’re very easy to skip. They aren’t much of a problem. I would totally recommend this podcast to anyone who’s searching for something to listen to as they’re trying to go to sleep. ❤️
-
BadassbeauticianAwesomesauceI cannot go to bed without a great podcast this is just the thing I need every night. I hope Elizabeth is awarded best podcast award, if there is such a thing.
-
SpifferificI fall asleep so fast it’s ridiculous!Thank you, thank you for this beautiful podcast. I had trouble falling and then staying asleep mixed with some pretty bad dreams. This podcast has fixed all of that- Plus so many other podcasts skip around on stories. I love that they’re complete on here before moving to the next. I am tempted to listen when I’m awake because Elizabeth’s voice is just so beautiful and she does the voices so well and I love the storytelling. But I don’t want to ruin what’s working. So the recap at the beginning helps when I just am too close to finishing to start from where I left off. Which isn’t far each time lol. Anyway thank you again!
-
its not my favoriteI love it IDC what anyone else saysI haven’t even finished the part one of 25 but I already love it is amazing
-
the cat feederEhhhhGood podcast, but honestly, two premium seasons in a row? And a long one? I have to go to other channels just to have something to listen to at night!
-
makeupmynameZzzz but not in a good way.I know “The Great Gatsby” is considered a “masterpiece.” But compared to the works by and about women on the podcast, I think Fitzgerald’s novel seriously pales in comparison. A snoozer actually. I hope Elizabeth sticks with the women. MUCH more rich and nuanced!
-
HJLouisThank youYour podcast is amazing- such a beautiful, peaceful voice and the stories are wonderful. Thank you, thank you, thank you 😴😴😴
-
FaezelRuined by the AdsThis podcast was perfect. The host had a soothing voice and the stories were easy to get lost in. But apparently enough people started listening that they thought they should milk some money out of it. Now the ads are so loud and jarring compared to the rest of the episode that it’s impossible to fall asleep to. Yet another sleep podcast thats shunted it’s fanbase for some sponsor dollars. A complete disappointment. I hope you can sleep better at night than I can now that this podcast has been ruined
