I’ve listened to this show for about 2 years. And unlike most podcasts Phelps presentation of the cases and real understanding of the missing and the murdered is clear. His take and attention to deal breaks down these cases and I know that I’m getting an unbiased opinion. He also always has the upmost respect for the victims and the families.

M. William Phelps makes this series as an old school journalist would have back in the day. As important, he understands what creating a good audio show is all about - having a conversation with the listener. If you are a fan of this genre, you will enjoy this series!

I am not a part of the free Karen read movement in anyway but I found this podcast’s coverage of this case to be so unprofessional and irresponsible. He misstates so many facts of the case & legal procedure. He uses so many fallacies like I’ve reviewed this many pages of reports so what I’m saying is accurate. I’m a criminal defense attorney and I’m appalled by his reporting. See what I did there (; But anyway as of today Karen read is innocent unless proven guilty because here in America that’s how it works! I have no idea if she did it but what I know is there is a lot of questionable things happening in the investigation and prosecution & I do not believe the state can meet their burden but I do not think anyone would ever know. Shame on MW PHELPS though for tearing apart turtle boy but then produces just as irresponsible “journalism” I hope anyone who listens to this podcast fact checks every single thing this dude says. I wish I could give this podcast negative stars.

One of the things I love about CTL is how facts are driving the narrative. I listen to multiple crime podcasts and this one is unique due to Phelps ability to let facts and evidence tell the story. When he adds his opinion, it’s clear, he doesn’t pretend his opinion is fact. I look forward to each new episode.

Absolutely incredible. I started getting interested in this trial like most others, through Turtle boy and social media. I was sucked in at first and totally influenced, believing Karen was framed. I’ve listened to the trial and everything else and I’ve started to change my mind, until I heard this podcast. Absolutely incredible, unbiased factual account of the truth!! Matt should be the prosecutor in this case; there is NO way you could question whether Karen hit Officer O’Keefe after listening to this. What an amazing tribute and excellent journalism. Bravo.

I came across your podcast about 4 months ago and I absolutely love it! I have always been interested in true crime and I find the way you talk about the crimes to be very thorough and detailed. I especially like the respect you show to the victims and their family. Keep dong what you are doing!

I love any podcast that M. William Phelps puts out, this is just one of many. His episodes are always thoroughly investigated, you can tell he does a lot of research. He’s extremely empathetic and compassionate towards the victims. You can feel how he genuinely cares for each and every episode he puts out; and his fight for justice for these victims and their families. And if he’s ever wrong or makes a mistake with his information, he never hesitates to come back and correct himself. Plus his voice, speed and cadence is very easy listen to! ****** I just would like to add this as a caveat, please take any of the bad reviews you see regarding this podcast with the grain of salt. One of his other podcasts has extremely ticked off a whole bunch of people and they’ve been flooding his reviews with one star reviews. Just something to take consideration when looking through the reviews of this podcast.

I appreciate the focus on victims and those left behind after these crimes. Narrated with the seriousness it should but not boring like other shows.

I listen to quite a few different true crime podcasts, and anything with M. William Phelps is by far my favorite. The way he sets up the story, how he conveys the victim and their families. It’s really hard listening to anything else after.

I’ve been a long time listener of Mr. Phelps’s podcasts - Paper Ghosts, CTL, White Eagle, 34 Fairview Rd - and I always find his work to be informative and well-researched. I really appreciate his attention to the victims and making sure they are portrayed accurately and cared for. If you’re a fan of true crime, you won’t be disappointed.

I have enjoyed M William Phelps as an author, contributor to true crime stories since seeing him the first time years ago on Deadly women. His dedication to the whole truth about a case, not just opinions are what make him an amazing author. And I was thrilled to see that he's got a podcast gig now! I am a huge true crime podcast fan, as is anybody here probably, I even worked or a true crime social media channel for a couple of years. I’ve listened to all of the regulars, but I can honestly say that this is one of my all-time favorites. The way that Phelps tells a story is concise, factual, yet interesting and keeps the listener engaged. Sometimes I’m not in the mood for a whole lot of chitchat and banter. I just want to hear a story that is written and told exceptionally well, and that is where I seek out all of the podcasts that Phelps is involved in.

This case is finally getting to the truth!! Karen Read and the Turtle Boy link finally brought out in court. The Federal Investigation is over. The Conspiracy theory defense has fallen apart. Hopefully justice for John Okeefe.

I followed the first trial of Karen Read and was saddened by the theatrics from her and her defense team. I kept thinking how money can buy a “reasonable doubt” when there isn’t one. Thank you for this series as it shed great light on the power of social media. I’m praying for justice for John O’Keefe and his family at her next trial. Karen Read and Turtle boy hopefully get what they deserve! If not in this life… You did a great service putting all the pieces together. Small town MN follower.
