    Best podcast voice
Caleb Brown has the best podcast voice. But I enjoy how informative the show is, how it gets right to the point and doesn’t waste time. I also value how Cato frequently admits when it’s wrong, which is very seldom. PS school choice is not the nirvana you think it is. But I actually admire your hopefulness about it.

Caleb is a wonderful host. The podcasts are nice, short little bursts of information on a wide variety of topics.

    Love/Hate Relationship
I either love what they’re saying or I hate it, but it’s always intellectually honest

    Interesting but boring
Just not very enjoyable to listen to. Monotonous and slow. Good topics though.

    Great and Informative Podcast
Cato does a wonderful job with this informative news podcast. I look forward to continuing to listen.

    Quick updates of reason
Nice updates of topical events with a rational viewpoint.
  • Pseudo1776
    Diverse group of viewpoints
No matter your ideology there will be episodes you disagree with and episodes you do, which is exactly how a podcast like this should be

    Cato Daily Podcast
This is my favorite podcast. The content is excellent and it is moderated in an intelligent, thoughtful and educating fashion. I have learned a lot by listening and have enjoyed having some of my positions challenged by considering the information discussed by the host and the many guests. It only takes a few episodes to realize that almost every guest is incredibly well informed and reasoned in their commentary. There may be times I don’t agree with the perspective but enjoy the conversation. Good stuff! Highly recommend.

    Used to be a Fan…
I’ve listened for many years. The format is good, but somewhere along the way you guys went way too pro-establishment. There are podcasts out there now that are having serious, challenging discussions thru a principled, libertarian lens. I’m unfollowing to make more time for those. Stop interviewing each other so much (echo chamber), re-read the US Constitution, some Murray Rothbard, and maybe you can lure me back some day.

    New conservatives
A silly straw man argument…conservatives have never been more libertarian in my lifetime (I’m 62)…you focus on trumpians that we’ve chosen to ally with, maybe talk about that phenomena in the future

    Libertarian?
It must be Big Government Week on the Cato podcast. Did they bring back the equal-time rule?

    Rational Reporting
Love this podcast for its lack of emotion and simple, factual reporting on the important issues facing our country. Interesting and informative guests and concise format.

The one star reviews are hilarious
Very good, intelligent analysis from the conservative side in short form. Don't mind the one star reviews from Trump cult members who flip out anytime their chosen one is rightly criticized. They've been eating too many memberries.

Facebook Oversight Board Upholds Trump Ban
The Facebook Oversight Board is merely deception and trickery to fend off government legislation and regulation. While this decision was limited to whether the ban after Jan 6 incident was justified, the board did say Facebook should create “clear, necessary, and proportionate policies that promote public safety and respect freedom of expression.” Even if Facebook follows this recommendation, enforcement certainly will be unequal. Maybe Cato should have asked this representative of the board to muse on why Facebook does not equally enforce its ban on the likes of other inciteful individuals like Representatives Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, ex-NFL player Colin Kapernick, or Ayatollah Ali Khamanei.

    Single Caucasian Male???
I suggest your ‘expert’ guests spend some time doing research. The male who grossly assaulted the 65 yr old Asian woman was not Caucasian. Also any discussion about domestic terror that does not mention ANTIFA or BLM, who are responsible for billions in damage and many lives lost, loses credibility. You can do better CATO

    LOVE CATO!!!!

    Sometimes I wonder
I generally like this podcast, but every now and then I wonder how Cato employs some of its people. Gene Healy today (2/16/21) said B Clinton's lying about a blow job was arguably less serious than D Trump's lying about inciting violence, and was worse than R Nixon's cover up and obstruction of justice. Is this guy for real?

    Long time listener
I’ve been a long time listener and generally agree but I can’t take it any more. I feel like all the show has done in the past year or so is bash Trump. I couldn’t get through today’s episode and unsubscribed. I am done.

You folks were a great honest resource for a long time, sad to see you go maybe you can save yourselves....

    Banal
Cato functionaries are often interviewed. Their views would not be out of place on PBS Nightly News. Cato libertarianism is the most tepid an effete sort.
  • epg- bookish
    Has moved too far left...
Not sure what happens here... I can’t tell the difference between the Cato and Brookings podcast these days especially on foreign policy.
  • CoolNeat
    Wow.
Beltway Libertarians. Fake news and very political now. Very sad because I’ve been a listener for years. Ad Hominem attacks and unrelated associates are not compelling arguments.
  • knobdy
    Competing with the M5M?
I’m a libertarian. I generally agree with what Cato has to say. But Jesus, this daily podcast has turned into a daily Uhmm show (the guests are all uhmmers) bashing on Trump. I have CNN for that. And they Uhmm less!

    Fantastic!
Nobody, i mean nobody asks better questions than Caleb Brown. His guest are cutting edge. Do yourself a favor and listen for the next year. Then ... donate something for ALL the effort. You’ll be way ahead in the transaction. Much respect Cato.

    A Must
This podcast is a must for anyone who is concerned about civil liberties in America. You may not always agree, but this always cuts to the vital issues facing our nation. Quality can vary depending on guests and topic, but it's always shining a light on the key threats to our liberties in a way few others do. 4 stars due to uneven quality of guests and content, but if you want to be treated like an adult by educated professionals who care, look no further.

Disappointed in podcasts about Iran deal
I found it disturbing that 2 recent podcasts addressed the Iran deal , Trump’s rescind and then the targeted killing. My issue was that the assumption that the Iran deal was good for the US is highly questionable and there was no rebuttal or even any questions addressing that assumption

    Re: The Terrorist
Saleihmani was a major terrorist! How dare you as commentators say POTUS45 had to notify Congress! Obama did far more than take out a Terrorist! Nothing was ever told to congress and nothing said! 👎🏻

    I never miss it
Concise, honest, valuable insights on a wide range of fascinating topics. Always backed up by research and facts and not just conjecture! Delivered in a positive and fun way! Awesome!

    Some good, some bad
The quality of the podcast varies wildly with its guests. If you’re not already onboard with the viewpoint the host and guest are espousing, then you’re unlikely to be convinced. More of a “preaching to the choir” than anything else. Lastly, does not understand that there can actually be reasonable disagreements between libertarians on policy — it’s CATO’s way or you’re a authoritarian nationalist. Having said all that, there’s a tremendous amount of good content here, especially with regards to the harder policy stuff.
  • factsNotFeelings
    Terrible podcast today
This isn’t libertarian, who put this pro illegal alien junk on CATO? When the unemployment rate hits ZERO then we'll discuss immigration reform. “Doctor” Jeff Singer likely isn’t a medical doctor yet they present themselves as such, someone who holds a doctorate isn’t a doctor and when speak about medical subjects they need to be absolutely clear they are NOT a medical doctor. This pro drug legalization nonsense isn’t libertarian when the context is using taxpayers money to open injection sites and using taxpayers money to supply narcan to drug addicts! The idiot on the program speaking about drug addiction has no idea what they are even talking about and it’s harmful to the libertarian movement and cause to have this individual spewing nonsense on the program.

how the other half learns (11 Oct 2019)
i really usually enjoy the cato daily podcast, but today’s was far below average. the interviewee was allowed to speak expansively, but offered shallow answers. his analogies were sophomoric, and he feigned surprise that the host was unaware of an obscure figure.

Please research Defense Issues more carefully
I am a Libertarian, a career military officer and have supported Cato over the years. I was listening to this morning's 4th of July episode and took exception to some of your commentator's perspectives on armor. We, in the US military, do not aspire to fight fair. We seek to apply our advantages asymmetrically against our adversaries. We use tanks as part of the combined and joint force against our adversaries. The M1 Abrams tank is a critical element of that force and is not, as your commentator suggests, just a jobs program. As we increasingly confront Russian and Chinese aggression, we must have a viable armored force. We must continue to cost-effectively sustain the M1 Abrams system. I assure our adversaries are investing in their systems. All of that is tangential to the issue you express about the militarization of Fourth of July. Flyovers of high performance jet aircraft has been a fixture of celebrations for over 25 years. Some may not like the noise, but as we say in the military, "That noise you hear is the sound of freedom!"

    Conservative Bashing
Likewise, I’m looking for non-agenda-driven news sources. (Seems primarily conservatives get bashed these days).

    Leaving Cato podcast
I have been a subscriber and loyal listener for the last several years but I am canceling my subscription. The bashing of President Trump and his administration has gotten out of control. I would offer President Trump’s policies are closer to the libertarian view than any president we have had in the last 30 years. His policies on regulations, taxes, foreign policy, prison reform, and general liberty are moving us in right direction. It seems the Cato podcast has fallen to the media trap and has lost its moorings as to its mission and that is a shame.
  • BurnOnBigRiver
    Libertarian?
I stopped subscribing a year ago because I questioned Caleb Brown’s authenticity as a Libertarian. There was a bizarre interlude during an episode when he wished violence on ideological opponents. That was it for me.

    Reasonable news
If you want to stay informed and sample provocative opinions without all the yelling and fear-mongering that comes with most other political news programs - this is the show. Its biases are clear and upfront, its host is even-keeled and genuine, its perspective is refreshing

    Short, Simple, & High Quality
Cato’s flagship podcast is great for those looking for brief interviews with experts on a wide range of subjects. Although from a libertarian perspective, you definitely don’t need to be a libertarian to enjoy the nuanced takes and good interviewing from host Caleb O. Brown.
  • DiscipleMakerSTL
Great discourse and good information on issues
.........just not sure about a pure application and implication of many libertarian conclusions. However, we desperately need these discussions in the legislative branch, but we will probably not until Americans rise up and correct constitution with regard to term limits and lobbying, spending restraint, the role of the Federal Reserve and taxes. Indeed, a big meal to eat.
