I learned about Vanese Mc Neil via another source I love and a lot of her research is fascinating to listen to and think about, so I appreciate her work on that level and was very shocked to suddenly find myself listening to a clip of someone making a deeply transphobic statement while speaking about the nature of evil. It actually made me feel physically ill, speaking of energetics, but also fascinating in its own way because while Polly St George touches on several deeper truths in her explanation, it is all twisted into an actual pervasive evil by placing it through the lens of extremist evangelical fundamentalism, which is deeply rooted in white-supremacist patriarchy. I looked at PSG’s website and it is horrifying — the antisemitism is breathtaking. Anyway, it was a shock to me, who wholeheartedly supports and embraces our wonderful trans community, and thought someone else might need to hear that before tuning in. It’s certainly colored my entire perception of Vanese and her work, which genuinely saddens me.

My new favorite podcast. It’s educational, entertaining, and will have you wanting more. I’m happy I found this podcast. Every episode is a treat.

This podcast brings in some of the world’s deepest thinkers that bring you down their particular rabbit holes, introducing new perspectives and finding new connections. Just like the magical Egypt series, this pod invites us to return magic, beauty and wonder into our worldviews and our everyday lives. I’m so appreciative of this project. Intoxicating, whimsical and completely fascinating.
