MeSannLab / 33I have listened to the episode 25,26 and 27 on the bones over and over again. They have helped me so much in that there’s a lot of material and not a whole lot of time to study. listening to the podcast help me to retain a large portion of the material. They helped me to remember shapes as well as food, analogies cheese and bread for spongy bone ,DME, Durable Medical Equipment . I really like that analogy for diaphysis, epiphysis and metaphysis I hear them in my head even when I’m not trying to. Great! Thank you so much .

Acasas54Chapter 25In chapter 25, I learned the classification of each shape bone and I learn the different bones that fall in each bone shape. Like the patella bone is the only bone that is the sesamoid bone. Femur, humerus, phalanges are all long bones. Flats bones are the bones that make up the cranial.

Pro max userEpisode 25Something that I learned on episode 25 is that we have a lot more long and flat bones make up 60% of the skeleton. Long bones have long shaft that has a dence dysphasia. With spongy bone in the inside we

Jessica E. GonzalezEpisode 25In episode 25 I learned that the adult human skeletal has 206 bones and how there are 90 long bones and 36 flat bones. I also learned that flat bones have two parallel layers made up of compact bone and between them is spongy bone.

Mrs. C SmithEpisode 27In this episode I learned there is both yellow and red bone marrow that each serve a different purpose. “Yellow symbolizes fat and contains stem cells that can become cartilage fat or bone cells. Red bone marrow is a source of healthy baby blood cells, people with certain types of blood cancer, like leukemia, benefit from people who donate their healthy bone marrow.

jenetteleiannEpisode 25In episode 25, it talks about the bone structure. The difference between compact and spongy bone, the bone is basically like a sandwich. The bread is the compact and the cheese is the spongy bone. The ends of the bone is called diaphysis and epiphysis and where they meet is called the metaphysis.

Carina 745 -033Epithelia TissueLoved !! I learned they are also the major tissues in glands. Epithelial tissues have a variety of functions, including providing physical protection, controlling the permeability of the surface that they line, provide sensation, and produce specialized secretions depending on their location.

amanda11029LOVE except for the musicI love this podcast, but the background music makes it hard for me to pay attention. I wish it wasn't so loud or catchy, it gets stuck in my head afterwards
-
WriteHealFatherTwo thumbs up!Excellent supplementary study for mcat! Professor H. is a godsend. Her review has helped me solidify majority of the science I rolled my eyes at during undergrad and connects it to A&P in a palatable way. Her subtle humor is also some of the finest on the airwaves.

Jasmin0960Chapter 16I enjoyed listening to chapter 16 because it was refresher with some new information thrown in there. 2 new things i learned today is skeletal muscle makes up 35 percent of our body weight which is interesting because muscle can make us weigh more. I also learned that skeletal muscle does not divide so it causes scar tissue. I wonder why is the smooth muscle able to divide but not the skeletal or cardiac muscle? Is it because of the striations?
-
BN Brianna NavarroVery helpful! In episode 16, there were three muscle that were listed. Smooth, cardiac and skeletal. After listing to this episode I had a better understanding about the muscles .
-
Aubrey1471Episode 16After listening to Ep.16 I still cannot believe how much work humans would have to do if our cardiac muscles were voluntary. It’s something that comes so natural yet I had no idea of the specifics behind it.

Anonymousss101Helpful for Quick Final Exam ReviewI like how these podcasts are short and to the point. Makes it especially helpful when reviewing final exam material cause it’s easy and not too time consuming to come back to the material. Something I didn’t know about bones is that there are two types of bone marrow, red and yellow and that the red healthy bone marrow is what can be donated to leukemia patients.

OxiedollLove how you teach this difficult subject and you make it make sense! After listening to this podcast I understood and was able to memorized the 11 organ systems in the body. I also learned that they all need to work together to keep our bodies in homeostasis! Homeostasis is maintaining balance in our bodies, we need to always be in homeostasis for our bodies to function properly. Negative feed back is an amazing function our bodies can do to help us get back to being in homeostasis when we are get off balance! I learned what effect long term consumption of alcohol can have on our liver and how severe the outcome could be, I also learned that liver is the largest internal organ in our bodies

Ed JHTo the point information.Very easy to follow and retain. It gets to the point with little or no filler which makes it more enjoyable and not another long task to complete. So far I’ve learned the levels of organization, not memorized but learned it and It’s because of her class and then the podcast to reinforce the information.

MomeuseAwesome podcast for students of Anatomy and PhysiologyI am taking a hybrid A&P 1 course as I work full time. It is challenging because there is just so much to remember as far as terminology, then understanding how everything interconnects while trying to keep all the terminology straight. This podcast has been a lifesaver for me. I have a long commute to work and can listen over and over again, which helps me tremendously. This Professor has a voice that is easy to listen to. Her explanations are clear and easy to follow. I am anxious for new additions to the playlist. Thank you for these!
