Such a professional, knowledgeable host and interesting true crime stories - my favorite podcast and I’m confident it will be for others too.

It’s super confusing when you’re calling men women and women men. A female victim of a crime should not be called “he.” It is confusing, and more importantly, it is illogical.

This has line been one of my favorite pods, but since coming back independently there are a lot of noticeable editing errors. Catherine speaks in a weird, halting manner that she didn’t before. As if she’s got an outline, but not a script. Reading a script doesn’t make you less of a podcaster. It leads to a better and smoother listening experience. Not to mention that some episodes have abrupt cut offs. I’d love to give this five stars again, but I’m finding it harder to listen now that it’s far less polished.

Thank you for respecting Cam Lyman’s gender in your episode about him. Just a note: Gender *Affirming* Surgery is the most accurate and up to date term, not “reassignment”. But otherwise you handled the episode with respect, grace, and integrity as you always do. I love your work!

This podcast is narrated very well! I didn’t notice intrusive ads. No try-hard witty expressions. If I had a story to tell, something for the world to know, I would want Catherine to tell it hahaha

Edit your podcast and post consistently!!! PLEASE. Love this podcast and red collar crime stories. However, get it together! Come on! You could be a top tier podcaster if you polished up your production.

I’ve been a fan of Catherine Townsend for years now, and I love Red Collar. But each episode has editing mistakes these days—Catherine repeating words (ie “finally” * pause like a transition edit* “finally, he went…”) sentences getting cut off. It’s like none of the editors/Catherine listen to the Final Cut before posting it because these are noticeable issues.”

Stories are great but she’s got to listen to her recordings before releasing. The long pauses and rephrasing previously stated facts is very annoying.

Love love love the show but please someone review editing.

I love red collar but I’m not seeing a Episode a week more like every two weeks if so.

I really liked this show for a while, but lately it seems like no one is editing or even listening to the podcast before publishing. The host will make a point, then there will be a clip of her repeating the same idea in a different phrase. It happens constantly and it’s so clunky. It makes it so hard to listen.

So happy you’re back. But please get rid of the background music. It’s too loud and too distracting.

I really love that this series is back!! I totally understand how difficult and time consuming sound editing can be but please consider going through the editing process more thoroughly these edits are really rough (main example is the cut and splicing aren’t lined up and often words are repeated or there are large gaps of dead air.), but the stories are great!

I really want to love this show, but the episodes are so rough! The most recent one ended before it was even supposed to?! It’s so important to listen to your episodes before posting. It is very hard to listen to. The stories are unique and interesting but the editing could use some work!

This used to be one of my favorites. Such poor editing on the latest episode that I had to stop. It became quite confusing and I listen while I work, so I’m not able to keep going back to figure out what’s actually happening.

I loved this podcast from the very first episode and kept it on my playlist should new episodes return. And I am so happy that I stumbled upon the new one today. Thanks Catherine, for putting together such a wonderful episodes and highlighting how criminals can hide in plain sight. Such a great show!

Not only does Townsend stay focused on the most important details, she’s a gifted storyteller and very passionate about the subject. PS. It’s 10/7/2024 and it’s nice to have you back!!!!

I listen to so many podcasts (I’m one of the we weird people who fall asleep to crime stories), and the way she narrates and tells these stories is second to none. Love her voice!! So happy she’s back with new episodes!!

Of all the podcasts available, I was actually bummed out when I thought that Red Collar was done. I just figured she called it a day and moved on to something else. Today I jumped on Reddit to see if I could get some info on what Catherine Townsend might be up to these days. That is how I found this new version. Ms. Townsend has a great voice and delivers the story in a way that never gets tiresome. Great job!

I’ve listened to every ep of all your podcasts and we need more of this one! Your voice is so calming and your compassion and thoughtfulness when talking about your subjects is unparalleled.

I was disappointed when the Red Collar podcast ended, so when I was looking for old episodes, imagine my pleasant surprise at finding this podcast. Catherine Townsend has a great voice for delivering a well structured podcast.

There are a lot of crime podcast. I listen to a lot of them. Katherine/Catherine is really solid really good. I love her voice and she’s just very comforting. I know we’re talking about crime and how would that be comforting?!?! but I just feel like she’s a friend.

Incredible podcast! Well-researched, interesting cases told extremely well! I’m so impressed the host does all the research, writing and recording on her own! 10/10

She's such a great story teller. I hope he quits that detective works and releases more podcasts. I work alone as a handyman and basically listen to podcasts all day in my headphones, for years... and Blood Money is my favorite podcast because she's so good.

So glad that the host’s continued her work with a new version of the Red Collar series. Great storytelling and important work in highlighting how easily white collar crime & fraud can turn deadly and hopeful for more episodes.

This is my favorite true crime podcast by far. I’ve been checking back every week since her last episode because I’m DYING without this podcast. I love her straight to the point narrating and because she is a PI herself, she’s able to give more insight on the cases. I’m hoping she’s just off working a really great case right now and will be back soon! In the meantime I’ve been bingeing Murder in America, another great podcast. But nothing compares to this one!!!

Catherine has a soothing voice, even when describing a brutal death. It really is all about the delivery when telling a story. And she has really nailed it. Episodes aren’t too long and keeps my interest.

Catherine has become one of my favorites for so many reasons but mostly because she really cares about helping people and finding out the real truth not just trusting information already out there. She’s a great investigator in my opinion. I particularly love this show because not only are the stories well told but she also teaches us a lot. I honestly feel like she’s trying to make the world a better place and bring up subjects that aren’t widely discussed but really need to be. Definitely recommend this show and all her others. :)

Just finished my first episode and if the rest are as good it’ll make this the perfect True Crime podcast. Why? I love Catherine Townsend’s straightforward, no-nonsense narration. No added fluff, no repetitive interviews with family members and witnesses, no boring, inane and often irrelevant chitchat between 2 hosts. Townsend just tells the story in a clear and concise manner, with enough detail to give you all the pertinent facts and make it interesting. I’m looking forward to binging on the previous episodes.

I love listening to her voice, and her stories are always very well researched, put together and recorded.

Catherine is my favorite Podcast host/journalist. Her reporting and research is so thorough and always keeps me interested. I have loved her other podcasts and hope she continues this amazing work.

I love that she covers some lesser-known cases along with well-known ones. I had never heard the term “red collar crime,” but these cases make so much more sense (to the extent any murder can make sense) in that context. Content is respectful with intelligent insight provided.

This is one of my favorite true crime podcasts…IT STARTS OFF HOT!!! No big intros or declarations…no advertising sponsors or puffing cheats…Katherine starts the story straight away! I appreciate that so much!! Get to it and it’s never stops. Keep up the great work with this podcast! LOVE IT!!!
