    Non-Quilting Driving Listener
Hey Thread Heads! I am the odd one out because I am a driving listener. I teach creative classes and listen to crafty podcasts during my drives. I landed on yours just recently and fully caught up within two weeks! I am a reborn sewist - last time I touched a sewing machine was 10 years ago in Home Economics. Even though I don’t think I will start quilting any time soon, I got hooked on your podcast hard - it is so relatable with my crafting business! Many good laughs! Thanks for the inspiration to attempt a quilted potholder ladies (because that is my small scale type projects) and expanding my quilting knowledge! -Ally Erickson Wyld Creek • A Creative Boutique Located in Northern Minnesota

    Sewtopia Nirvana
WOW! I’m on my way to (my first) Sewtopia in Milwaukee in a couple of weeks and just listened to the two part chat with and Amy - WHAT FUN! Asheland and Lacie are such great hosts and it was like down home week with the locals… I LOVED learning the history of Sewtopia! Keep up the good work gals - you’re both gems! (But of course Lacie will always have a special place in my heart for introducing me to modern quilting!)

    Great podcast!
I really enjoy listening to this podcast during my 4.5 mile morning walks. Their insights on quilting are very informational and their guest interviews are great. I always look forward to the next episode!

    Audio
Constructive criticism here, I think you need better audio. There is a lot of breathing noise and (not audio related) a little too much giggling. I really want to add this to my podcast following but just can’t. I’ve listened to several episodes. You’ve got a good thing going but it could easily be so much better!

These two are an absolute delight. They are adorably hilarious and provide valuable quilting insight without taking themselves too seriously. Five star, must listen, genuine legends in the making.

    A great listen
I’m on episode 14 of 32…. I have to listen in order else I’ll feel I’ve missed something. The podcast started as a place for millennials, but the hosts, Ashelyn and Lacie, are quickly realizing their message hits home across the generations. As a Gen Xer, I am really love topics and guests. I am appreciative of the honesty they bring to the conversation. I absolutely am adoring the message of community. They can sit with me anytime!

    One of The Best
I look forward to your podcast even though I’m a generation older. I especially like it when you share your experiences about guilds. I wish more quilting podcasts did so we could all benefit! I’m listening intently on what to do to attract younger quilters. I have some ideas and may email you.

Scared of pins - Emboldened by this Podcast
As a brand new quilter who is trying to follow in Ash’s footsteps by completing 5 quilt tops in under a month, this podcast has made me feel so seen and welcomed!! I’m an emo Zillenial (‘96 babyyyyy) who appreciates the representation of other emo crafters of this younger generation. I am still so scared of quilting with pins, but getting braver while listening to this show lol. I also love the quick mentions of ADHD sprinkled throughout, as I am autistic and ADHD and love hearing other people (especially AFAB folk) talk about their experiences as it makes me feel less alone and isolated as a Neurodivergent person! Also I’m queer and non-binary, and the Zac Foster episode had me SOBBING. I love your inclusivity, humor and readiness to accept anyone who wants (or needs) a seat at the table. Much appreciation and am so excited for another year of episodes! Ani 🤘🏻

    Still listening!
Loving your podcast. First heard about you while listening to back episodes of inappropriate quilters. You are spot on with all your talking points. Keep up the great work 🥰

    Quilty variety😃
Thank you for the variety of quilty topics you cover. I like the fact you have a direction but make it interesting. Thank you!

    Quilty Friends!
This podcast is a whole vibe. Warm, kind, inclusive, and super down to earth. It’s not just about all things quilting…they really are focused on connecting with others and being kind to all quilty friends, no matter where you are on your quilting journey. You can always sit with these women. P.S. small house / dining room sewing situation all over the place. Haha! Thanks for talking about the not-insta-perfect real deal that is normal for lots of us.

    Love this Podcast!
I recently found your podcast. I’m an “older” quilter, as in, I’m old enough to be your Mother 😉. I enjoy listening to all that you bring to the table. I’m not a “modern quilter” but love some of the modern quilts. I don’t feel left out or odd because I can’t always relate since there is soooo much I do relate too. Thank you for sharing your table with me.

    Found my people
I look forward to getting to sit in on and listen to this podcast. Lacey and Ashelyn are wonderful host who complement each others personalities and make everyone feel welcome in the quilting community. Keep being awesome Quilty Friends!

    Love your energy together
You gals are fun to listen to. It’s like eavesdropping on your coffee date. Found you through Ro and Leslie at Inappropriate Quilters, and see a similar energy and joy in your pod. I just wish you’d dial down the generational stereotypes a bit… it’s a contrast to your “everyone is welcome at our table” awesomeness. We are more alike than we are different and one day you’ll realize how the years go by fast, but you often don’t FEEL older when you’re not technically young!!! Anyway, for those of us who are young and young at heart, we’re glad you are carrying on.

    Enjoyable listening!
Ladies: Thank you so much for your podcast! Love the information and all the giggles! Such fun! I’ve been quilting for years solo. Your voices make me feel like I’m with friends! Keep it up! Jomama And I’m a boomer! Old as dirt, but you ladies are fun and make me feel young again.

    That’s so good.
I love this show. I’m on my second binge listen (I came on board late, after hearing the Inappropriate Quilters podcast) and have really felt like I’ve found my place in the world for those 30-50 minutes a day that I can listen in. I noticed the other day I responded in agreement with “that’s so good” to a friend who made a poignant statement the other day. Where’d that come from I wondered? Fast forward to today’s drive home, episode with Maude… I busted out laughing. I got it from you! I got it from listening to you!
  • hilaryandrus
Always informational and a good laugh
Haven’t listened to an episode that didn’t both educate and entertain me at the same time. I also feel incredibly validated that I’m an ok quilter with a just fine set of skills and I still belong in the quilting world. Also incredibly responsive if you have questions! Thanks for a great show!

    Comfort listen
I just started listening and enjoy your conversations. It’s a good listen while I’m sewing. As a 49-yr old quilter I still feel young and am getting used to being referred to as an “older generation” quilter. I understand the intent ☺️

    Inspiring Quilt Podcast
This is a great podcast for quilters and want to be quilters. Found from watching Inappropriate Quilters. This is not your mommas quilt podcast, no boring quilt information. They inspire me to not only quilt but not to worry about mistakes I make and move on. The last episode also encourages us to try something else. Offer great tips have interesting guest. My 2024 favorite shows.

I am new to quilting and I love this podcast! Both of the hosts just are so real about everything. No judgement-just chatting about what they are working on.

So good to have a seat!
I love this podcast! It is so nice to feel included in the quilting community! These ladies do such a good job of demystifying some of the ins and outs of quilting. I am excited they are continuing into 2024!

    Bingeworthy
I’m so excited that I found you guys from an armchair expert podcast about quilting. I just finished binging your entire backlog in a weekend. I’ve been sewing for 8 years but I just ventured into learning to quilt. I had lost my sewjo and haven’t sewed anything since the beginning of the pandemic. You and your guests have really inspired me and I’m so excited to start my first quilting project. Thanks for giving everyone a seat at your table.

    Bumbled into QuiltCon….
I have just found your podcast and I don’t want to catch up! (But I have…). I just listened to your last two re: QuiltCon (Amanda B - love her) and entering quilts into shows. I can’t stop laughing because I am the luckiest quilter ever (don’t tell anyone from QuiltCon!). My first QuiltCon was in Phoenix and I was blown away.. then inspired to enter a quilt. Mind you in hindsight I realized I’ve broken every rule out there…. My full frontal pic included my backyard grass and my hubby’s hairy shins and sketchers…. I’m serious (just ask, I’ll send on the pic). Additionally, I had never even shown a table runner at my local quilt guild (I'm a chicken) - but I submitted and was juried in. (OK, I was such a chicken that I said "exhibition only please" - but I was still so happy to see my quilt hanging in Atlanta. ) Ever since seeing what everyone used as submissions (after the fact) I have been averting peoples eyes in utter embarrassment… I will not get that lucky again for sure. Your show has helped me prep for this year (where I am ready to be in the QuiltCon rejects club), and for sure will be no grass or limbs… You are both awesome, thank you for all that you do! @cilibertodonna

New quilter, listener and instant fan.
Hi! Thank you for starting this podcast! It has been an instant favorite. Truly. I started listening yesterday and am now on episode 6 and have already ordered a beanie and stickers. It feels like I’m hanging out with friends and kind of scratches the quilting itch when I’m not able to sit down and quilt. I find myself laughing a ton or responding 😅 Somehow my jogs/walks feel like they are flying by with you guys chatting in my headphones. Thanks for being such a fresh sound and vibe in the hobby podcast world. So glad I landed here and kind of sad I didn’t discover you when you had like 200 episodes lol so I would have more content to get through at the rate I’m listening. Cheering you on!

I just came across you podcast in the last month or so. I started at the beginning and am listening at my full time job as well as in my sewing room. Thank you for what you all are doing. ♥️

Not young but not old either
I find myself in this weird gap of “not a millennial”but “not at retirement age” either and it’s been a challenge to feel like I fit. On top of that I am first and foremost a t-shirt quilter and I have had plenty of long time quilters turn their noses up at that. But here with these ladies I feel like I fit, like my age doesn’t matter, and my skills or lack thereof don’t matter. I’m just welcome as I am. That’s such a rare environment in today’s word of making fun of others, standing on soap boxes, or even throwing politics into just about anything. I’m still catching up on your episodes, ladies but you’re making my office feel fun and lighthearted while I work on customer t-shirt quilts. So grateful for Lacie and the way she consistently shares that it’s not a bad thing to make t-shirt quilts. It feeds my fam AND my soul to help others in this way.

    Quilting, Laughter,and Some Snark
Looking for a quilting podcast that doesn’t take itself so seriously? Want to feel like you are hanging out with your quilty snarky friends? Well, you can always sit with us! Having a blast listening to quilt talk that includes all types, all experience levels(except for the quilt police!), and is filled with laughs and some great interviews too!

    Learning a Lot!
I am 60-something, a traditional quilter, a member of a traditional guild, a quilter’s retreat owner and a part timer at a quilt shop. I’m enjoying your podcast and am getting a fresh perspective on newer and modern quilters who will be the ones to carry on this amazing hobby. I’ve been sharing your stories with shop employees and newbies who come to our retreat! Thank you!

    Inclusivity at the forefront
Excellent podcast. I discovered you in September 2023 and am binging older episodes. Multiple times I’ve heard you talk about appreciation of diversity and inclusivity. Your tag line of “come sit with me/us” (or close) is a perfect example of the welcoming environment that you create.

    Piecing it my second Quilt
I am sitting by you while I’m working on a nine patch, a stash buster of a lot of old material I bought it at an estate sale. I have wanted to be a Quilter most of my adult life but I’ve never given myself the space to do so. I’m 63. I’m enjoying myself.

    Recommended and love it
I’ve been quilting a long time. Just found you. Love the podcast. Taught a my daughter and her friend to quilt during Covid. Im so glad another generation has found the joy and fulfillment found in quilting. Keep podcasting for all of us.

Fun, informative, did I say fun?!
I thought perhaps I was too old to be a Thread Head, but now I think not! I especially have enjoyed Episodes #18 and #19 as I have just decided to enter a quilt in a show for the first time. Thanks for the great info and encouragement. Also pants 👖specifically jeans; Suffragettes for the win!
  • Qltrw
So happy that I found you!
Your podcast was mentioned by Leslie B. On Inappropriate Quilters so I gave you a listen. I’m hooked! Your first episodes were excellent for new quilters. I sometimes get to help 4-H new quilters (young teens) and I think they will really relate to you. I also relate although I’ve been quilting for 45 years! Keep up the great work. Now I’ve gotta go find your merch… 😃
  • Purple85
    So entertaining!
I’ve been quilting for about 7 years (I’m mid 30s). I’ve listened to a handful of different sewing/crafty/quilty podcasts and after just one episode of this one I was super impressed! Other shows can feel kind of stiff but this was so fun to listen to! I loved that there were specific questions to ask the guests but it felt like a natural conversation since it was able to drift when something interesting came up. Excited to listen to more episodes!!
  • ApJaCa
    Good company
Lacie and Ashlyn are fantastic. Their podcast is great and you can see the growth in their knowledge and skills on the technical side of podcasting. They are relaxed and at ease with each other which makes for fun listening. I love their casual nature and occasional giggling. They do great interviews, asking thoughtful questions and engaging conversationally with their guests. I never miss an episode. Their openness about inclusion makes this a welcoming space for all. And their merch is top notch quality!!!

    Love your podcast
Love your podcast. Now listen up…. I’m 71 and still a hippy form the 60s, so you are right up my alley in listening about younger quilters. Young is sooooo important. So keep it up!!
