Like a warm cup of tea!
I absolutely love this Podcast! I’ve been listening to witchy podcasts for a few years and somehow just came across this one about 2 months ago and I am loving it! It’s not just informative for all levels of witches, but listening to Llayla and Chelle is like sitting around a cozy fire with your best friends chatting about the things you love and want to learn about. What I love the most, that is different from a lot witchy podcasts is that they are aware of and respect that everyone’s witchy practice is different, and not everyone has the same opinions or beliefs about everything and they are able to talk about their own personal opinions and beliefs without being condescending and dismissive to the listeners that may feel or think differently. It truly feels like a safe and inclusive place for everyone . Five stars!!!

    I’m hooked.
So I was in a search for a good witchy podcast. I am just getting back into practicing and I want to know about the history, traditional and non traditional, and to find where I fit in and where I belong and this is the podcast for that. I love both of their personalities and their stories and I’m hooked. I’m so glad I found this podcast and you will be too! **Thank you both for existing and being unapologetically you and helping me on my path!**

    Starting to go downhill
I used to really enjoy the pod- I still do but I am noticing the content is starting to get more broad and less about actual witchcraft and magic and more just theory on different topics. I used to listen to every episode the same day it came out but now I don’t even finish most of them or sometimes even start them. Sometimes I feel like the hosts are well intentioned but Layla ranting several times in the imbolc episode about how the myth of Persephone and hades has changed while also acknowledging that myths should be living things was a bit hypocritical. I get understanding the origin of the story was bad and now it’s more of a dark romance kind of story is a perfect example of myths changing and two things can be true at the same time. The original myth was bad and it’s reclaimed and told differently now. Also Layla brings it up again after it’s been put to bed. I ended the episode in the middle of the second rant. We get your perspective, now leave space for other people’s perspectives please.. geeze

    It’s like having a coven
I recently started looking for podcasts about witchcraft and found BOTB. This is by far my favorite podcast discovery of 2024. In fact, discovering this podcast may be the best thing about 2024! These ladies have an ease and comfort that make listening relaxing. They bring opinions and ideas that inspire and teach. I really couldn’t imagine a better way to spend an evening than curled up with a cup of tea listening to Back on the Broomstick.

    Best of Genre
Witty, wise, and wonderful. Insightful, funny, well-researched and very well-produced. Absolutely my favorite podcast in this genre. Listening feels like I’m having tea with two witchy besties, whose interests and experiences add depth to my practice and whose presence supports my growth. I love that the hosts don’t shy away from discussing dark aspects (both of the Craft and of the Self), yet they encourage considered thought regarding ethics. Personal stories are sometimes shared, with admirable vulnerability, BUT this show is intended to aid the audience, not to serve the hosts’ egos (like some others.) If you’re looking for information you can trust, this is a great resource. I don’t know that I’ve ever written a review for a podcast before, but as a former practitioner (decades ago) who has returned to my practice in search of a “refresher course,” as well as new or updated information, and new resources in this digital world, I am compelled to write this one. IMHO, the BEST.

    My favorite podcast!
I love this show. 2 witchy friends from way back just swooped in and became my go-to podcasters. I love hearing about all their magical adventures and whatever fun things they’re currently into. I feel like I’m one of the gang whenever I tune in. Thank you to Laylla and Chelle for being my buddies in the car and when I’m folding laundry and cooking dinner. You make life more amusing and magical.

    My Witchy Favorite!
Absolutely love this podcast! "Back on the Broomstick" has become my go-to during drives, while I'm working, etc —it's perfect for any time and place! They create such a warm and relatable atmosphere that it feels like your best friends are right there with you, engaging in delightful discussions about “all things witchy”. Their insights and humor make each episode a joy to listen to. Thank you, Chelle and Laylla, for creating such a magical space!

    Reality check
The first episode I’m listening to and not even halfway through… there’s shameless cultural appropriation and it’s clear these hosts don’t actually know what they’re doing. What knowledgeable herbalist or green witch creates an herb bundle with dried herbs? And also can non-native folx please stop using the term ‘smudging’. It’s 2024 and there are tons of available resources about smoke cleansing that don’t appropriate indigenous practices.

    Love!
I really appreciate this podcast. As a casually practicing witch with adhd and it can be helpful to have a podcast going while I’m walking or doing chores, and I always get excited to see when a new episode is uploaded. It’s been great to learn about your magick experiences & rituals, pagan history, and holidays as we turn through the seasons. Thank you for sharing 🌞🐇

    Witchy Queens!
I adore these ladies. Down to earth, entertaining, and informative. They make me feel like my busy, messy life and my “doing my best” practice has a welcome spot in the wide world of witchcraft. Even though we are all sad that we don’t have a clawfoot tub in a misty forest!

    Instant favorite!!
I just discovered “Back on the Broomstick” when searching for more Yule/winter solstice-themed episodes to listen to; and I immediately fell in love with this show. Since I was raised and am in a very Christian family, it’s nice to find a podcast whose hosts have similar backgrounds (plus they’re a hoot, so bonus🙃).

    Solid Witchcraft Pod

    Good show
I love to hear anything pagan and this was one of my favorite shows. I’m starting to see the same thing as I do with most other podcasts, and that is the lack of real content. Seems as though all I ever hear anymore on most shows is the upper middle class talk in blanket statements over broad topics. And no normal people ever speak anymore, authors promoting books or quote elites with some self righteous I’m better type statements. This podcast is becoming the same where there isn’t any conversation about actual work, just the elites talking about their success. I’m disappointed in I thought this show was different than others

    New Witch!
I’m a 31 year old witch new to the craft. I have greatly enjoyed the content on this podcast. It has been very helpful in my path. Thank you ladies! I’m curious about what kind of rituals and practices can be used to celebrate the equinox. Especially, since we have the fall equinox coming up this month. Blessed be love y’all!!! -Nerak

    Remembering
Layla and Chelle, I just have to say a big thank you to you both and I’m so grateful I found your show (s)! I have been a solitary witch since my teens(I’m 37 now) and while my craft was strong and such a big part of who I am, ironically, being in tune with goddess changed when I had my first baby almost 2 years ago. I’ve been scrambling to reclaim those pieces of myself that made me feel strong, and like ME. In searching for pods that gave me some wheel of the year ramblings to reawaken my cyclical honoring, I found you! I’ve really enjoyed listening to you both and laughing and having little aha moments-“yes! that book! or yes I’ve done this too!” I feel as though I’m sitting right there with you. Since becoming a mom I’m finding myself needing my village-and to my surprise that feels more like coven village than mama village. Or maybe both! Anyway. Thank you. For helping me remember. Also, Layla, I’d love it if you did an episode on sigils! I don’t know how that would work on a podcast but I’m sure you’d find a way. Blessings to you both! Lacey

    Weird & Wild!
Sending out positive vibes throughout the witchy universe, Layla & Chelle are knowledgeable folk that obviously have been living magically for years. 🕯️ I feel their podcasts’ angle as I am a OG witch from the 90s & recovering agnostic. So much fresh breeze and new found intention getting back into a spiritual practice. So much need to nurture a new phase of very open witchcraft now taking hold. Thank you for your bravery & energy each episode🧖🏽‍♀️! I will gladly journey with you.💫💫
