KaybeesA#1Grumpy has been my go to and favorite for plants, yards, and landscaping for many years. He is funny and knows about all things pertaining to Southern plant life. Listen to Grumpy! Grrrrr!

ughicantConfused.I keep thinking that I’ll learn some thing from this podcast but every single time I just waste 8 to 10 minutes of my life. There’s never any good advice… The most recent one I listened to on okra, I was hoping to learn some tips about growing it because I'm an avid vegetable gardener. The only thing he said is the more you pick the more it’ll produce. Nothing about watering, climate, fertilization, etc. Don’t waste your time with this podcast just go listen to another better one like the beet that actually discusses in depth techniques and concepts. Cannot believe these people actually have a podcast.

The Curious CathyPet PeevesDude you hit that pet peeve about prices not being on plants right on the head. This is the first time I’ve run across your podcast and you just got a new follower. Do you ever talk about house plants? I hope so. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Cathy

REBfromTampaThe Grumpiest!I have always looked forward to reading the grumpy gardener of the Southern Living magazine and now I have a double treat! I get to read the article and I get to listen to Grumpy!
-
jdlorenzo8Grumpy … but entertainingThe information is solid, but I listen each week to hear the biting sarcasm and anti-squirrel soliloquies. I like the short format too. Should be done all year. I miss it when there is no new content.

Benner's momShort and FactualAlways great to hear from our GG. Read his column in SL every month and am delighted with this abreviated and information filled podcast.
-
PorkBellyWagonHuh?10 minutes of stale banter between hosts & less than informative opinions, I hardly understand the point of wasting 10 minutes.

O!IGBAGL!Warped speed?New to this podcast but not to Grumpy, so I don’t have any listening history to rate by so far, hence only 3 stars. Like so many others that have left a review, Ask Grumpy is the first thing I read when my newest issue of SL arrives. Love it and Grumpy’s dry sense of humor!! But, the only issue (if you want to call it that) that I have with the podcast so far is the speed of the audio itself. Is there a reason why everything seems to be running just a bit faster than necessary?

Sparkle 63CommentI love the podcasts, but, I would say one thing I love about them is that they are SHORT! Hard to please everybody.
-
JButler New to GAGrumpyI very much enjoy the podcasts. But please make them longer. How about 15 or 20 minutes please

JennysobaskiTypical Southern anti-environment, lush green lawn, climates denierIn the last episode, I listened to Steve and his co-host proverbially roll their eyes at organic fertilizer. The information on the podcast is alright, but the localized don’t care, don’t believe, I’ll take care of myself mentality is draining. Steve could be a force for good, but instead, it’s clear his sponsor is a large company that doesn’t sell native plants and probably discourages using eco-friendly products.

Kelly__BGrumpy, yet informative!I love that the Grumpy Gardner is a tad grumpy, but he still dispenses the very best information when it comes to southern gardening!
-
Molly5026Good informationGood information in a quick and easy manner.

Nana JesZone 5I just saw this in Southern Living, I loved your article so much I decided to listen to the podcast. It was great short and humorous and very informative!! I live in Illinois but I was able to use your advice even though I don’t live in the south(regretfully). Thanks for what and how you do it!
-
TerryBenderSuper good! The first thing I turn to and read when I receive my Southern Living is Ask Grumpy! So happy to have this podcast to listen too as well!
-
Sarah K BootA gem!A podcast I can’t get enough of! I’ve followed the article for years now so it’s a treat to have it “come to life”. An absolute must!
-
celkn89Love gardening tipsI enjoy these bite-sized episodes! I am in the Seattle area and the information is useful to me even though I’m not living in the south anymore.

CindyWillinghamSaturday favoriteI love this podcast! I save the Wednesday podcast and listen to both on Saturday morning! I start my weekend off listening to an expert plus its is incentive to make my yard as beautiful as Grumpy's.

lauraterrellcoachingLove this podcast! My favorite column in Southern Living - so it’s wonderful to see it now also as a podcast. Already learned a lot (getting rid of carpenter bees and growing lilacs that will flourish in the South are two favorite episodes so far)

StefflesRaySo glad to have this new format and contentDear Grumpy is my favorite section of Southern Living and I’m very glad for this new content. He provides great and practical advice in a humorous, but helpful, way.
-
BeckyDVBrilliant and life changingWell done—helpful information as well as tips for us amateur gardeners and landscapers. Love the column and now enjoying the podcast. Thanks!
-
Gaylefriend2Thoroughly enjoyable!Short, sweet and to the point!! Grumpy covers interesting facts on plants I’m interested in and enjoy learning about! It helps that I’ve subscribed to Southern Living for 4 decades!❤️ and it helps if you live South of the Mason Dixon line, for the zones that work with the plants that are discussed! Great! Life changing! 😉

jbryant62Laughing as I listenBrilliant, wonderful, life changing. Seriously, Grumpy makes keeping a beautiful garden fun and is full of good information.
-
EdKodyBWLCBrilliant , wonderful and life changing.

BreakfastBulldogGreat program!I love the short concise info ( ant the way Steve let’s me off the hook for so many plant problems)! Also Neenah asks questions I would ask if I were sitting face to face with Grumpy! Keep up the great work and include some Florida plants one episode.

00_jackieDo the podcast alone, SteveGrumpy Gardner is my favorite section of the Southern Living magazine, and while I found the information provided in the podcast helpful, I’m not a huge fan so far. I may be in the minority, but to me, the female on the podcast is irritating. There is no chemistry between her and Steve, so it feels awkward. I would love this if it were just Steve doing the podcast. Ditch the helper.
-
LittleCycloneKidPerfect!!Always have loved “Grumpy” advice from the articles in Southern Living and this is awesome!! Living in NC, I need ALL of this advice!! Thanks!
-
Dr.ParkJust-right advice!I love that this show gives very useful advice in an easy to understand way. I’m not lost in plant lingo I don’t understand. And the banter between the hosts makes it feel like a couple of friends chatting with me!
-
McConnel89Best NarratorsI love this show’s quick format that focuses on queries from Southern Living readers. Also: It’s hard not to smile listening to these soon-to-be iconic voices! Can’t wait for episode two. 💚

Shuggie of fourPerfect TimingYour topics today were very timely and informative. We are considering planting Encore azaleas and your discussion will help us to choose the best location in our yard. Also, we had camellias with lots of buds that never bloomed. You answered that question for us too. Looking forward to your next episode 🌷
