-
UrBadAimBest takesYbt is very fair with her reviews of shows. She uses her therapist background to break down behaviors we see in pop culture. A must listen!
-
dolley17LoveI love Melissa speaking the truth about situations, but I also absolutely love her giggles!! What a survivor she is and a true inspiration!

laachigirlRe title: all about meUnlistenable all she does is talk about herself, her trauma, her depression, her need for self care, me me me me.. boooorrring. I’ve heard shrinks are Often the lost in need of shrinking and she just needs to stop using the first person in every sentence. I I I.. me me me

RogueJSLConversational narcissism?I truly wish there was more insight about the reality tv personalities. It’s largely Reich expounding on Reich. Also, Reich speaks down to the audience, often prefacing what she’s about to say with a declaration that it’ll be simplified for our understanding. I’d like her to assume we’re just as, if not more, educated than she is because many of us are. For those who may not be- assume they’re bright enough to comprehend.

CS1463Manipulative HostAs a PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology who loves pop culture and enjoys reality television, I was very excited to find this podcast. While there are several red flags that have me questioning her ethics and her motives for perusing this career path, all I will say is that her constant reference to her degree followed by “so trust me” is the most concerning. Noting at the end of your podcast that they are your “opinions” and meant for “entertainment purposes only” after constantly and repeatedly referring to your degree and subject matter expertise and then promoting the audience to essentially take your opinions as facts is the definition of emotional manipulation. Not to mention, your defense of a well documented abuser and narcissist’s actions against a proven innocent woman is absolutely flabbergasting. Even before we had concrete proof, I was shocked at your dismissal of his behavior now decade+ of documented mental and emotionally abusive behavior because “he always says he’s sorry”. The patterns of an abuser are highlighted even in PSYC 2310. I cannot in good faith recommend this woman’s assessment of anything nor her podcast. It would be in my opinion that she be reported to her local board for ethics violations.

MjscrimzInsightfulI’ve always been fascinated by psychology and Melissa’s takes (which are rooted in her clinical interpretations) make reality tv-watching all the more fascinating. I consider her a quality mental-health resource and advocate. If you’re looking for substance to your reality tv/Bravo recaps, this is it!
-
WPVanQuestionableYour credentials give you more credibility and power, therefore you can do more damage. You can also be wrong. You might offer a disclaimer, but your listeners won’t necessarily know how to evaluate your analyses and won’t know the alternative POV that a more seasoned PhD might have. Maybe you should just offer an opinion as a lay person in order to do no harm.

SgarK22ShannonShannon was in a outpatient rehab center. Tamara’s statement could absolutely be true.

LunatwinLove! This podcast is the most fun way to learn about psychological concepts through the lens of Bravo and other reality shows. I love her perspective on everything, she is an empowered and empowering woman and therapist. And really enjoying the secret lives of Mormon wives episode recaps, masters level stuff here!
-
ilovemaple:)Love love love!Love the psychological takes on all our favorite shows!
-
lt1106One of my favoritesYour bravo perspective is so unique and actually helpful in my own life. It’s not an another catty bravo pod. I’ve actually brought things that I’ve learned from you talking about bravo into my own therapy and appointments and self-work. Especially how you talk about addiction and trauma. I couldn’t say that about any other bravo pod, so thank you for that! Also, love the shorts. I don’t know you but I’m rooting for you health-wise like I do know you and you’re such inspiration. Keep up the good work! But also, if you’re too tired some days, that’s okay too :)
-
missydeluxe74such great insightsI thoroughly enjoy your insights using psychology as a way to explain our favorite shows. more impressive is your own health journey and the courage you bring to life everyday.
-
ErikaMillyGMy Favorite PodcastAs someone who has been through a lot of therapy due to trauma, I find myself watching Bravo shows through different eyes than I did prior to the trauma and all of the help I’ve received. I view behaviors differently and recognize things I didn’t before. I find so much validation when I listen to YBT, and I learn from her as well. She speaks from not only education and experience, but from empathy and compassion - which is lacking in a lot of people these days. I think EVERY Bravo viewer could learn a lot listening to this podcast, I highly recommend it to everyone!!
-
BonniegallLove!!Enjoy Melissa and the podcast so much! Her professional takes are so interesting and spot on. I love it when she has a guest on and she and Mandy S. are just wonderful together. (I wish the two of them would have their own together tbh) 🩷
-
mhm1512Awesome with RyanI loved your latest with Ryan Bailey. I am also triggered by Jen’s inability to be a grownup. She’s a sweet woman, but not knowing how to manage finances on a basic level makes my head explode. I also wasn’t handed things growing up so there’s that!
-
Jano GreatInteresting Perspectives on our Guilty PleasuresI really enjoy Melissa’s clinical interpretations of my favorite Bravolebrities. She does such a great job of explaining and breaking down behaviors, patterns and where they likely come from. It really had made me more mindful of not only my own behavior, but perhaps most importantly allowed me to approach the behavior of others with more understanding and grace. That said the podcast still maintains a fun and light and positive vibe. Love My Bish Therapist!!
-
sanvie4848ExcellentI love your podcast. You and Ryan Bailey are quite the dynamic duo. Thank you!
-
Ruthie1818RHOCI really enjoy your psych analysis. I feel like I am back in social work grad school again when I listen to your astute dissection. Thank you so much for educating your audience about Harm Reduction. It’s an effective method to help people along with Motivational Interviewing. I wish that RHOC producers and Shannon would discuss this method further and bring more light to it. Tamra and RHOC production really do a disservice to those where traditional Cold Turkey and AA do not always yield good results, and they need alternative interventions. It’s myopic tunnel vision to narrow treatment options on a public platform where not one size fits all.

ELM1000Like the Pod but…Listening to your OC 1-4 recap you stated you are “basically a doctor”. Although you may have had many experiences with medical care it is irresponsible to state you are “basically a doctor” to your listeners while having an MA in Psychology. Not only does it undermine the work of MD & DOs it minimizes your own accomplishments. In comparative language if you are able to be a doctor w/o the years of education and practice based on your health issues isn’t it possible to do the same in your own field of psychology? Like the pod but find this gross.

HHG78912001Keep bringing back Mandy!I love your conversations with Mandy Slutsker! I especially loved her informative segment at the end of your season three opener regarding her father’s American pride, Project 2025, voting, and getting involved as well as educated. We so need more podcasters like both of you that are willing to take the time to speak about these things. Keep it up! ❤️
-
DC in the NCLove the episode with Mandy!I love every episode but thank you for starting Season 3 with Mandy. It was great and I got so much out of it!!!

angelle226Not a good ideaAs a therapist you should not even allude to possible issues people on a reality show might have. Reality shows reduce hundreds of hours into maybe 20 hours and skew what they think we should take as entertainment (key word entertainment). It’s very bee hive mentality to assume West committed to Ciara in any kind of way. Yes there were actions that showed he was into her. But neither one of them stated there was a verbal agreement on a commitment. Even if there was a commitment, they can fail. It’s called dating. Yes Ciara is beautiful. And she has been a nurse and a model. And it is also okay for someone to not want to further a relationship with her, despite all of her qualities. The part where you assumed he has commitment issues just bc his parents said you are going to look dumb… I know you’re a therapist… but you can’t take one sentence and go from there. Maybe they watched the previous seasons where Ciara was in a situationship with Austin? And know that anyone who is not treating her like a queen will look bad? She can be a queen, just not the queen for him. It’s called dating. Don’t make it harder than it needs to be. Is it possible West isn’t comfortable with saying, “im just not into her” or “there are things about her I don’t like and so therefor don’t want to see again” Maybe West is using bravo fan base as an excuse. You don’t know, you aren’t his therapist. Maybe West is silent and shrinking bc he knows the beehive mentality is about to get him? You also don’t know the perimeters she put down and he put down and what they agreed to. You are just making assumptions. All you know is that they slept together. Continued to see each other. And then West decided not to see her anymore. And that is okay!! 👏👏👏

mrg1022Love!!!!I love hearing Melissa’s takes. Beyond thankful to have discovered this podcast

DolceVita1234In a love bubble with this podcast ;)My favorite podcast. I always look forward to the new episodes. Bish Therapist is spot on!
-
Sigi_MayeFresh of breathAlways great takes. She’s kind but brutally honest. From one psych buff to another, wonderful listen!
-
NewFanGirlUgh….just noDifficult to listen to as she speaks incredibly slowly and choppy- speed the podcast up to 1.5x-minimum. She is obviously very new, with some kinks to work out. A little surprised she is a therapist- her POV is so biased. Serious lack of preparation and rough transitions were distracting. Ugh… just no

JCDESQA wonderfully unique take on BravoThere are so many different Bravo pods, but this is one of my favorites because it’s not just a summary of what we’ve already seen. YBT is an actual professional who uses her skills to analyze the major themes from each episode. It’s obvious that lots of preparation goes into each pod, and it’s so appreciated by fans like me who like different takes on these shows. Sometimes I don’t agree, but then she’ll explain something in clinical terms, and I find that I understand it better. I’ve been listening since the very first episode, and it’s been such a joy to see YBT grow and improve by the week. I recommend YBT to all of my Bravo-loving friends.

MaryCatSoulsbyHoly Wow; the podcast I needed but didn’t know I needed but knew I needed!Title is FACT! I had no idea I needed this show but like I did know it and then I didn’t know it! 🤣 That makes sense only in my own head and that’s ok. I don’t know how I found this podcast, but whatever or whomever THANK YOU for the suggestion (I think it may have been a Drama Darlings podcast suggestion but don’t remember). I am binging every single episode. Eating it up. Started from beginning, wishing there was more. Look, every therapist has an opinion and I know that; or should I say every therapist has their way; human experience and all, but I love how you get into different types of situations (via Bravo or other shows) to really interpret some real-a-tea inspired situations. Interpreting reality TV as a licensed therapist is genius, and relatable. I’ve been watching these shows for years and being on my own self-love journey. I have done a lot of therapy, writing, and growing; the sesh with you on an episode is enlightening in so many ways. I see myself, friend group or marriage in many of these crazy reality shows but I try hard to not judge although impossible being human. I enjoy you walking thru it in such deep details even when you try to go fast to “fit in” a show. It’s insane because I will say OH M GEE that’s exactly how I feel, or dang that’s what I do and EEK “name charachter” is showing it to me on the big screen in my house. 👩🏻💻Cue…writing it down as a focus topic for myself. 😂 We don’t agree on everything, but Bish it’s your podcast and I am here for it. I don’t like listening to the same old same old; and I don’t want to agree with all your opinions because that’s boring. 🥱 Plus, they (🤷🏻♀️ who is they) created this little half arrow circle button that allows me to skip if I am not digging a topic, feel like hearing your thoughts OR it is too triggering for me. Ahhhh…the MAGIC of an Apple podcast app; I feel like others may not know this little fast forward button exists based on all the shows and reviews I see/listen too, but alas it does exist! ⏭️⭕️⏭️ Keep going Bish! Keep pushing out new episodes. I am loving it!!! Fifty thousand stars!!

An artist studioA different Bravo perspectiveI love Bravo and I love this podcast! It is really interesting to me to hear a therapist’s perspective on the reality tv shows that I watch Melissa’s insights into the dynamics of the drama played out on tv are not only entertaining but also at times very teachable concepts that at times I can relate to my own life experiences
-
Kelly Kat-OLllooooooove this podcast!!Melissa takes Bravo-loving to another level. She humanizes Bravolebs, is never judge mental yet brings really keen insights and explains topics clearly and with compassion. Listen!!
-
Kansas city dudeLove this podcastVery informative podcast. Not only does she discuss things we see on tv etc, but she tells us other helpful pieces of information that can be applied to our own lives. Thank you for all you do.

JonathanSherman.net30 year LMFT here. Loving what you’re doing.30 year LMFT here. Loving what you’re doing. Spot on helpful information for clients and clinicians alike, presented in a down to hearth, relatable way. Thank you!
-
Pasotex1Thank you!Always love listening to your professional views. You bring up so many things that is on our minds. One being your take on Nick Viail. I cringe when he starts to give advise and I never listen to his “therapy sessions”. He needs to stick with interviewing Bravo and take down the therapy sign. Keep doing the great work as a professional therapist!
-
Y0u’re Welc0meAm I the only oneHeard your take on Lindsay questioning Carl’s sobriety. It’s not that simple. Addiction takes a toll on everyone. I don’t know anything about Carl and Lindsay but I know my own experiences and cannot judge. My experience with addiction involves years of lies, pain, constant worry that your life is about to blow up. Once he went to rehab, took years of rebuilding the trust. That being said this reality TV. Totally entertaining but a bunch of people with questionable morals.
-
KahairreeInteresting and UpliftingSo informative and entertaining! I’ve been binging and I love all of the elevated bravo and culture discussions.
-
sheela1926Great podcastThis is such an interesting perspective on all things Bravo. I’m really interested in hearing her assessment of various housewives. I’m just really enjoying listening to this podcast. Keep doing what you’re doing - because it’s great! I’m listening to your most recent podcast and I I just want to say “tune out the haters”. You offer such an interesting perspective and it’s so different from other podcasts. I may not always agree with your opinion 100% of the time, but I always enjoy hearing what you think on a topic I’m interested in. Keep up the great work and I’ll keep listening. All the best!

Manchester514Refreshing podcast for bravoholicsSo needed during this new era of bravo! Especially around mental health and behind the scenes reality drama. It’s a healthy way to interpret bravo shows. Melissa is doing so in a loving, professional and authentic way. She’s humble and honest and speaks from a precessional perspective. I also respect her own fight for her life (an on going journey), which adds to her strength and strong convictions to her profession. She pours so much energy into her shows. She’s the real deal and the reason us bravo fans will grow, learn and feel good about seeking help if needed in our own personal journey… love Bravo and love her take!!!. Love, love, LOVE!!!!

pam305HiKeep going! Ignore the haters!

KathyC_Listen—You Won’t Regret It!I found Melissa after hearing her as a guest on another podcast. She is so grounded, knowledgeable, and insightful that I learn from her each time I listen. She always has an empathetic take on things, yet she pulls no punches. As a person who loves pop culture, I’m fascinated with the take she has on our favorite celebrities’s behaviors. Next level!
-
Molly EileenYou’re absolutely right…… and your appearance on Rachel’s podcast was excellent. Her podcast adds value, and she led me to yours, which is great. Don’t even bother responding to fools. Love the pod.
-
PureenLove Melissa’s reality & pop culture fresh takesMelissa Reich brings a new, clinical angle to the reality & pop culture zeitgeist we didn’t know we needed. She is thoughtful and thorough, insightful and inspirational and, brings an emotion that’s highly lacking in the reality podcast world, empathy. I look forward to her weekly fresh takes and hope to hear her as a guest on other podcasts.
-
WBH69A+Such a great show with Ryan Bailey! I really enjoyed todays show.
-
busting parI beg youPlease stop saying “of it all” when describing a topic of conversation
-
samtha3133Projects too muchListened to a few episodes, but the Paris ones gave me pause. The host seems to project her own feelings into her analysis…some of it was cringey to hear-she sounded like a fan girl than a therapist.
-
CocovickiWOW and Grateful ❤️I first heard Melissa on Ryan Baileys podcast. Her takes on reality stars has really helped me better understand myself and made me more introspective about not just my bravo shows but the world around me. THANK YOU 😊 You have helped me more than you can imagine ❤️❤️❤️❤️
