Bree Mills is one of the best creatives working in America today (she’d want me to definitely let slip that she’s Canadian), and I say that as someone almost completely unfamiliar with her sex art (a much better term than the ugly and misogynistic “pornography”). Her efforts to bring sex work into the open and to humanize and dignify sex workers, to let them teach us civilians that they are professionals and experts, the wisest sex educators, are nothing short of revolutionary. (And I’m speaking as a sex educator.). The secret is Bree herself: her wit, her keen and penetrating intelligence, her thoughtful self-awareness, and her obvious love for filmic art. She is a national and international treasure.

As a fan of adult entertainment it is refreshing to find a podcast that focuses more on the humanity behind the scenes than the outrageousness that occurs on camera. Bree Mills does an exceptional job of giving the listener enough of the erotic to please the casual gooner listener while delivering poignant thoughtful questions that make the talented guest list dive a little deeper into the how and why of their chosen career path and what lies ahead in an industry that is known for separating the fly-by-night mattress actress from the goal oriented, hustle driven talent ready to take the industry head on. I’m absolutely befuddled as to how this show does not have more reviews.

Just listened to the 2/4/25 episode. Was almost unlistenable. Every other word was “like”. Sometimes there were 2 likes in a row !

Up Close is informative and very enjoyable. I prefer the podcasts like this one and HRU that focus more on the real person behind the performer. Great work, Bree Mills!!! Please keep it going. I am definitely a fan.
