So boring

Came back to update: how is this popular? They don’t actually know much about anything and/or are terrible storytellers. I am interested in the topics but can’t make it through an episode. This would be so much better if they emulated trashy divorces or even the rich or anything else that requires research and good storytelling.

This was an interesting premise for a podcast, utterly wasted by two very un-funny, unintelligent, inarticulate and generally unpleasant and unlikable sounding hosts. They don’t even seem like they’re enjoying it.

Entertaining if you don’t take it too seriously. Easy to follow and episodes are good length.

There are some great podcasts at the intersection of history and comedy. (You’re Dead To Me) With some brilliant and funny women. This is not one of those podcasts and, good heavens, she is not one of those women.

I really like this pod! I find myself laughing and feeling like I’m sitting with the hosts. The anecdotes are pretty hilarious and the concept is really good! Lots of review get all pissy about it not being factual but they literally tell you that they will not be 100% correct. The hosts have good chemistry and provide different perspectives. Hope to see more episodes in the future

Did you do any background check before you did Martha Stewart? And I'm sorry, but if you don't know when World War II started? You probably need to go back to about seven or eight grade. I mean, you didn't even know that she was married????I mean, it was cute to listen to you guys back-and-forth and the concept was good but if you don't study your person, maybe write down some notes and then tell a story. It was bad. Sorry but if you want make it big, study the person before you are recording. This is going have to be a hard pass until they study up on their people. I just can't get over how it's a history podcast and they know zero about history

It’s supposed to be updated weekly but we haven’t seen one since July of last year. Is the new episode or “season 2” just whenever they get around to it? Or maybe we are waiting for a full year without it to start again? Seems good for engagement 🤷🏽‍♂️

I learned some interesting things on the Gandhi episode, but now I’m going to have to fact check it all because the hosts said something about Morgan Freeman which I did look into, and it turned out to be completely false. I wouldn’t trust anything here without verifying.

Hosts demonstrate ignorance not only of their topics but also of general middle school-level history. Recreate these episodes yourself by googling a name and feeding the top 8 results into ChatGPT.

There’s another show that’s been on for YEARS taking a peak behind the worst people in History and because it’s so successful everyone wants to steal the format, I get it (even if I don’t like it). Even the name is a synonymous photocopy of the original. What this show added to make it “different” are classic formulaic gimmicks that have aged poorly. Someone playing “the dumb/surprised girl” foil to the other host…I mean come on. It’s insultingly stupid. History podcast fans want historically accurate content, not shallow yuks about off topic nonsense while schlocky characters read a script they clearly didn’t write on a topic they don’t know or care about. Can’t we have, I don’t know, something new? Or at least smart?

I absolutely love the concept of this podcast!! I understand it’s hosted by comedians and not historians, but I really enjoy hearing/learning about the other side of these famous historical figures. I hope they come out with more episodes!!

And I'm funny! The people saying the show isn't funny or "the girl doesn't know anything" are stupid. This is not supposed to be a real history show it's supposed to be entertaining and hilarious, which. This show has made me laugh hard like a crazy person alone in the grocery store many times. The entire show is wonderful. Please come back. I miss you.

Could not get through the first episode. Right out of the gate, the hosts can’t figure out the difference between India and Nepal. This conversation comes across as ignorant at best, racist at worst. One host is attempting to explain the story details while the other host constantly interrupts with ignorant comments. In reading some of the reviews, it appears that this is common throughout every episode. This podcast has a good premise. Recast the hosts and hire a few researchers to develop the episodes.

I have never left a podcast review before, but man, I had to with this one. I tried to listen to the episode on Miles Davis and couldn’t even get through half of it. And that even included me skipping forward through the hosts nonsensical ramblings at times. Listening to this show gave me a literal headache. Just talk about the subject matter. Why am I listening to you tell personal stories that are never ending and have nothing to do with the subject of the episode. The show has a cool idea, but is poorly executed. They seem like they have no idea what they’re talking about, and don’t care to pretend either. The hosts need to get a new hobby because podcasting is not their strong suit

I listen to loads of podcasts daily and just stumbled across this one a couple of days ago and am really enjoying how funny these comedians are and the reading of their featured scum bags. I look forward to many more of these to make me laugh.

Not very good history, equally bad language, a well placed F bomb can occasionally work, but when you put tons of them in your podcast it means you have no vocabulary. The young woman had no Idea who Oppenheimer was, and this was after the movie was made! Anyway, really bad. Not worth a listen. Sorry guys go back and do some research, and spend a little time cleaning it up.

I love history podcasts. These hosts seem to have minimal knowledge about the topics they’re discussing, often speculating about history and historical figures.

But it’s so terribly done. Maybe, instead of two “comedians” trade one out for an historian, or, at least, someone who seems to know anything about anything.

Listening to two people that know nothing about history talk about historical figures. It doesn’t work. I had high hopes based on the show description but the host didn’t even know who Ghandi was… c’mon man.

Most of the episode is them talking about random stuff, little to no information about the actual person. Good concept, poorly executed. The guy is pretty good, girl is super annoying.

The female cohost is so uninterested in learning, it’s confusing what her contribution was. Good concept.

38 minutes episodes summarizing about the highs and lows of historic individuals and their careers does not make a great podcast. The lack of chemistry between the hosts and then ending it with a score in the 80’s does not make this a great podcast. If you’re going to be talking about Coco Chanel or Winston Churchill just give their life history a brief summary. The podcast is so soft core when it comes to history that it’s nearly unintelligible.

I enjoy the concept, but I would like to hear more thorough research, and the context concerning exactly how the behavior of the subject differs from the common perceptions of them. Also, it might be interesting too stay off by establishing the popular public opinion, then jump into the well-researched skeletons in their closets. Better sound design will be helpful. Personally, I think this can be a fantastic podcast. For future subjects I'd suggest JFK(and US presidents in general), Alfred Hitchcock, and Imelda Marcos. Have you done Columbus yet?

This person is so dull, trying so hard to be ironic and sarcastic and clever but turns out to merely be an ignorant distraction with zero comedic IQ. Hearing her dumb quips and uninspired commentary in her wanna be hipster whiney voice honestly ruins the tone of a very cool idea and podcast. Kick her to the curb or enroll her in some kind of school where she can learn something about ANYTHING. She is just terrible. I can’t listen any more 😣😣😣.

It’s unfortunate because it seems like these comedians are smart, but did not work through the concept of the show. I get that we are all not Saints, but to hedge your entire podcast on the Falls of individuals and even having a disclaimer that says that you may be wrong it’s not a way to start an episode. The banter is unintelligible at times. I wish there would be more emphasis on the actual fact then made up nonsense. I was excited about this, but I will definitely unfollowed this.

They spend too much time trying to be funny and not getting to the subject at hand. Great idea, not covered well.

Needs better sound quality. Would be better if it was a little more professional and structured. Humor is ok, but not so silly. (A good example of this is My Favorite Murder) I liked the male host, the gal is just annoying and not funny.

I was hopeful this would be a humorous review of once thought good historical figures, but the sheer lack of basic knowledge and leaning into being clueless distracts from on any real information. I will never get this time back. Don’t waste yours.

I was excited to actually learn something from this podcast. Instead I heard, “I don’t know, and I wasn’t alive then, and are you making fun of me?” Total waste of time. Read some books and stop leaning on the dumb blond expectations. Disappointed.

I love these 2 comedians. This is a great podcast to walk or run with and have strangers ask "what are you laughing at". i love the dynamic between the presenters. make more please x

Male host is somewhat competent and has a nice speaking voice. I’m sorry to say the female host adds little to no value. She knows nothing about the content and the jokes are pretty juvenile. Don’t come to this podcast to learn about the topics; you’ll need other shows for that. This could work for people who are already fans of the hosts from other work they do, but it’s not for people who want meaningful insights about the topics discussed.

I’d rather have Siri read Wikipedia than listen to these two again.

I love the concept here and the comedy is pretty good overall but the ratings are pretty ridiculous and kind of makes these episodes fall apart. Entertaining could be great if there was some more structure to these ep’s

This show is about 3 minutes’ worth of material, stretched out to a half hour by a bunch of irrelevant tangents. If there’s a point to this podcast, I can’t find it; I got annoyed /bored and quit listening before they got around to it.

While they don’t do a deep dive on the individuals they review - it’s enough to paint a picture about the people. I find it interesting and funny. Like they said they are comedians- not researchers.

Comes off as if they learned about the subjects from a quick google search, woman isn’t funny and is clearly insecure about her height. How many times will she mention height, let’s see..

It’s honestly shocking how little these two know about these figures, and especially how much context is needed to understand how and why they acted when they were alive ( some of the actions can’t be excused ) Buts it’s just insulting. Another critique is just the amount of unfunny jokes cracked, it’s something a edgy 14 year old would laugh at as sex = funny, which it doesn’t, especially coming from someone who constantly brings up past relationships and how they peaked in collage. Overall it’s just not that good, I would say there’s a lot improvements but you can’t exactly fix them per se, such as the incompetent hosts. Just go listen to Moistcritikal or Wendigoon on the red thread or creep cast.

I’m extremely dissatisfied and disappointed in this podcast. The idea was great but poorly executed. The young lady on the show hasn’t done ANY research on the topics discussed. Rather than doing the work, she’d rather laugh at the offensive rhetoric of the subjects. It literally made my ears bleed and gave me a mild concussion listening to such trash. Nothing is funny about Walt Disney calling anyone a “darkie..” It’s 2024.. do better.

This was painful to listen to. I’ve never been able to finish an entire episode. Really bad.

Great idea but not well executed.

A podcast about people generally seen as great achievers who had major skeletons in their closets. Sounds like a great concept. I didn’t make it halfway through the Gandhi episode. I don’t expect everyone to be an expert on every person but the female host barely knew he existed. A cursory scan of his Wikipedia article would at least have you better prepared. It also didn’t help she giggled or made some stupid joke every time she spoke. The male host was at least somewhat prepared and if he had a better sidekick it would be better. But I got the idea he was just reading bullet points from Wikipedia. Maybe it gets better as they go along and get into Americans they might be more familiar with. But I’ll pass. Another point, there was no introductory episode where they explained the idea behind the podcast. They didn’t introduce themselves beyond “we’re comedians”. At least say why you are doing this and what it’s about.

Ok somehow I stumbled on this and I love it so hard. If y’all do other podcasts, let us know! I love both of y’all!

Her disrespecting Miles’ music is enough for me to not listen to another episode. I listened to a few others and she was repeatedly saying she doesn’t know something but this is the final straw.

Just found this pod and I think it’s hilarious and informative. Not saying they give the best information but it’s more than what I’d ever look up and learn about. Nonetheless. The fact that Brittany makes jokes about her moms self transition is funny to me lol I enjoy this show.
