Joanne McNally is back on the investigative trail…. and with the Avril / Melissa theory no longer giving her sleepless nights, she’s keen to find a new story to get her teeth into.

Top of her list, after some deliberation is a story from the late 90’s… about a soft toy, the Furby, which took over the world and became the no.1 gift for Christmas. But Joanne has found headlines that claim the toy was banned, suspected of being a spy, linked to international espionage… there couldn’t be any truth to it… could there?

Solid 3.

I was overall, mildly entertained. Joanne obviously puts a ton of work into her investigations, and I love a good deep dive into theories that otherwise wouldn’t see the light of day. The rambling does get annoying at times and the show drags on. I skipped through most of the episodes once I got the gist of what was, “discovered,” and left feeling like I got the full story in 1/3 of the time. A few moments made me truly laugh out loud, “money horse” and “penny sheep” I’m looking at you!

If you enjoy humour of the Irish/British, enjoy some silliness mixed w/ genuine research into the question and touching the bigger issues around it (how do internet rumors start, can they do damage, did Melania Trump use a body double??!), and understand sarcasm and fun, you’ll love this. If you don’t, you’re gonna give it 1 star! I binged, laughed, learned. It’s not that deep guys - just enjoy the ride!

Try it even if the bad reviews scare you!! It’s worth it!

Based on all the reviews, it sounds like either you’ll love this podcast or hate it (if you’re lame). I just finished all six episodes and I loved it!! It kept me entertained all weekend and approached some really big cultural issues in a lighthearted and interesting way. Give it a shot!
