    want to love it
I’ve been listening since the podcast first launched, I think Taylor is a great host for her own platform but this is not necessarily my cup of tea in terms of getting updated on tech trends/news. I was really disappointed during the family blogging episode with Fortessa Latifi, as Taylor continuously interrupted her guest and I feel like I haven’t been loving the content since then

    So Underrated
Taylor is a thorough, extremely well-read, tech journalist who understands the intersection of culture, technology, social media, trends and politics. Every episode I’ve listened to is well thought out, cohesive, focused and super interesting/fun to listen to. I appreciate her work so much and she is an incredible voice right now, will continue to listen. Thank you Taylor, you are a brilliant journalist and analyst.

Y’all hate content about anyone who isn’t a cis man
Every time I see a slew of one star reviews by gross dudes I’m IN. I found Taylor via a bit fruity and she is incredibly insightful and an incredibly capable journalist. Y’all can’t listen to a woman with a brain, it has nothing to do with vocal fry. Gtfooooo our girl is amazing!

    Love this podcast!
I really appreciate Taylor’s work. It’s nice to have content from actual journalists. Though she’s able to present facts and the surrounding contexts to demonstrate a through line, it never inhibits her ability to make the discussion feel casual and approachable. I think if you’re weary of legacy media institutions, but are still wanting to digest genuine news from a source that practices the standards of journalism, this is a great resource to have.

    Super disappointed
I have followed Lorenz online for years and enjoyed episodes of A Bit Fruity with her as a guest. I was super disappointed to hear her talking over and interrupting Fortessa Latifi on the family bloggers episode. I appreciate when an interviewer can ask probing questions of their guest. I did not appreciate Latifi not being allowed to respond as Lorenz took it as an opportunity to grandstand especially without specifics. I left the conversation without a clear understanding of why the laws to protect children’s right to forget are bad.

    Wild
Wild that all of the negative reviews happen immediately after the Piers Morgan interview. Anyway! Actual critical thinkers will really enjoy this podcast.

    Piers Morgan fans review bombing
Good example of Apple podcast, refusing to do content moderation on reviews as a bunch of dumb piers Morgan fans who believe out of context bullying can tank reviews of a podcast

great combo of pop and srs bznz
i'm in awe of Taylor and her strength, bravery, perseverance and intellectual honesty while working in such a constantly shifting and often antagonistic section of the modern world. Also her interest in the subjects she explores is palpable, gets me curious and she has great guests who can elucidate the topic. i can keep up with the online issues as well as the current trends and crazes! keep on keeping on, Taylor!

    no fact checking
doesnt give evidence or sources for topics on episodes. disinformation.

    Well informed show!
Taylor is knowledgeable and has the ability to critically think. People hate on her cause they lack those abilities.

Not a podcast for deep thinkers
Wow. Every time I sense that she is making a salient point, the valley girl comes out and I want to slam my head against the wall.

    👎
Disgusted by Taylor celebrating murder. Also, “raw dogging the air” is not objective. Facts much?

    The Worst
Taylor doesn’t have a grasp of basic information

    Too crazy for Vox.
She’s a crazy cat lady and it shows loud and clear with this podcast. Clearly she lives in a left wing echo chamber.
  • JRitch82
    LOL NO
Taylor would be homeless without her trust fund.

    Terrible human.
    Terrible human who glorifies violence.

The format change isn’t work as well
The format for this podcast appears to have shifted to only interview Internet personalities. This works when someone is engaging and interesting, but some of these folks bring little insight into their own influence and the interview serves no purpose. I miss Taylor sharing the things online that are catching her eye, and her commentary about the cultural influence of the Internet. She offers this in her sub stack, but would love to see it here too. Will still listen, but I’m getting less from every episode.

    Started strong but…
It has devolved into just PR for random influencers

    TikTok brainrot in a podcast
Just listened to the summer trend episode and felt compelled to write a review. Oil paintings in refrigerators as an “aesthetic” trend? Is she kidding? Would be beneficial if Taylor maybe had a permanent cohost to balance out her views which clearly seem to just cling to whatever stupid thing is trending at the moment. This podcast is why people need to spend less time on the internet.

    Great show
Always love Taylor’s insights into whatever is happening online
  • Anjali1991
    Great!
    Very good show.
  • Kangaroo Cowboy 25
This show is allergic to fact checking
To nobody’s surprise, Taylor Lorenz seems to like to think that her opinions are as valuable and true as facts. BEGGING this woman to log off the internet. It’s clearly damaging to her mental health.

    Saving my brain cells
Taylor’s insightful, accessible cultural analysis alchemizes the brain rot I subject myself to every week and leaves me with a sharper, nuanced worldview. Her work has seriously changed the way I make sense of the internet. And it’s very well produced- a pleasure to listen to!!!

    Co-Host Problems
I find some of the content very interesting, but Taylor’s co-host (Zach?) is ill-informed, not funny, grating, and just takes away from the podcast. Had to unsubscribe after most recent episode given his continued routine appearance.

    Pros and Cons
Pros: Great if you’re not looking to be smarter and well informed. Great if you’re looking to make yourself dumber. Cons: They speak about fact checking but they don’t fact check themselves. The podcast is chock full of misinformation.
  • themikeyousee
    Too Bias
It has a range of intriguing perspectives, but it appears to be heavily biased. The arguments seem speculative at times and lack thoroughness, which is evident from the writing style. I gave it a fair chance, but it doesn't merit continued listening! Unfortunately this didn’t cut it for me.

    Out of touch
I liked this podcast until the most recent episode when the girl says “the panic around social media apps and children’s health is absurd” ….. excuse me?????? Do you have children?????? If you don’t, then don’t comment on this. It’s extremely stressful for parents. The bullying that goes on on Snapchat is out of this world. The suicide rate is climbing at rapid pace. Social media is absolutely terrible for young people. Kids in 1st grade are wanting to be in social media. Think about the mistakes you could have made having access to put images and opinions and words out in to the world at that age?! Think about the vulgar creeps out there trying to get to these vulnerable children. Think about the time spent on screens rather than on a bike. Kids don’t even know how to verbally communicate with their friends anymore. As a parent of 3, I wish nothing more than for these apps to go away. Children can’t operate a vehicle until they are 16, can’t consume alcohol until 21, there is a reason for that!!!! Brain development! I am very disturbed that anyone without kids would voice such a strong opinion on this. You are completely out of touch with the parent community.

    Spreading brain rot
Her latest bits of reporting have not only been misleading, complete with bias, and factually incorrect, but also just plain dangerous. The brain worms are spreading, and Taylor has become a full fledged denier. Having already peaked in her career, this podcast is just another in her many attempts at money grabbing with mediocre and poorly thought out content

    PLEASE change the logo
podcast is interesting enough but the logo is sooooo unfriendly to look at, the color scheme is a nightmare and nearly gives me a headache every time. someone needs to look up accessible color palette design.

    Smart! Excellent Interviewer
Update: Voice much improved. Overall: you deserve 5 stars. OLD: Taylor Lorenz: smart, highly qualified…grateful for your reporting. Just started listening to your podcast…really, one minute in, and… Podcasting: the voice is everything. EVERYTHING. You’re in our ears. Please, please, please: get voice training to lower your range, modulate the ups and downs, and frankly: give you power, because your voice is powerful. I promise: 5 stars to come if my ears can listen to YOU with appreciation of what I’m hearing… This is an issue for so many podcasters; I’m wishing only success for you.

    Amazing Podcast!
Seriously, this is a great podcast! Taylor’s reporting is top-notch and unparalleled in the industry. Definitely worth a listen each week!

    Godawful
Taylor Lorenz is the worst of the worst
  • HorseSports64
    I love it
Honestly it’s really refreshing to hear a voice that takes into consideration and understands how young people operate in this increasingly complex polarized world where we on a foundational level rely upon tech that we fear and also use it every single day to do about anything you can think of!
  • Jeff_Witter
    A Fascinating Listen!
Taylor Lorenz brings a critical perspective to her coverage of the intersection of tech, pop culture, business and more. The guests have all been very interesting - the topics vary, but all offer a nuanced look at topical issues.

    There was one?
Excellent writer finally has a podcast so I don’t have to read anymore. She also has some good meme pages but I’m not allowed to share memes with her but this is not enough to lower the star rating….
  • showfan888
    Meh
Not bad for free entertainment but a little disappointing. Taylor seems to be using it as a vehicle to promote her own (debatable) opinions vs. providing an evenhanded take on news. Unfortunately she’s so far primarily booked guests who agree with her on topics so I’m generally left after listening with the feeling that I only got half the picture. Maybe when she gets more experience she’ll learn how to present all sides, use data, and how to host those who challenge her opinions

    Updating my review
Like the podcast for the most part, but really don’t enjoy the guy host.

redownloaded the app to leave this
great podcast idea and topics. i could not stand the male host. maybe he was having an off day, but in the episode i listened to, he never really had a foundational argument to lorenz’s claims. so it wasn’t even a dialogue or discussion; he genuinely sounded like he didn’t want to be there lol. really brought down the vibe

    Been waiting for this podcast!
Looooove Taylor and always appreciate her point of view on tech news.

    Great educational tool
Maybe others don’t use podcast for education, but there are so many topics about which I feel ill informed. In one episode, I advanced my knowledge base so significantly on the topic TikTok, that I now feel confident forming a strong opinion about what my congresspeople should do next. Thank you.

    Tech or Politics?
Just finished E1 of Power User. I should have known that Ms. Lorenz would not hesitate to inject her politics into a podcast that she owns and she didn’t disappoint. I listed to tech podcasts for tech - not more political opinions.

    Not great

    A bit biased
It would have been good to hear more viewpoints on the TikTok legislation. Felt a bit like an echo chamber. There are some good points to be made in favor of it and against.
  • Mattyrosen
    Excellent pod!
Taylor truly is a unique voice in tech journalism and I’m thrilled she started a podcast! She is not afraid to make enemies because she is not about access journalism. She tells it like it is!
  • PodPerson13
    Love Taylor Lorenz
    Looking forward to hearing more!

They took long on the TikTok issue when she said herself it’s not gonna get banned
Should have spent more time on the LinkedIn gaming
