Jordan, Jesse, GO!

3,100

What is the dumbest show you can imagine? This award-winning show may be dumber. It has no content. No format. Yet it's going on ten years of delighting hundreds of thousands of people. It's been an iTunes editors choice, and Rolling Stone picked it as one of the world's best comedy podcasts. It's light in the dark, comfort in the cold and a penguin in the pants (long story). Join hosts Jesse Thorn (NPR's Bullseye) and Jordan Morris (Comedy Central's @Midnight) and a celebrity guest on a raucous, vulgar and warm-hearted romp that will probably leave you a better person. And will certainly make you dumber.

One of my two favorite podcasts!
Look, I know. It’s weird. Jordan Morris and Jesse Thorne are weird. Their guests are weird, too. What can I tell you? As Abraham Lincoln once said: “For those that like that sort of thing, this is exactly the sort of thing that they will like.” Add in a few references to the Sega Dreamcast and you’ve got JJGo. Enjoy!

Best, stupidest talking about nothing you can find
All the information you need about the Verdugo Aquatic Center, Messy Torn, Cotton Candy Randy, Menswear, Porter College, and Jizz. Despite all the UCSC bashing, I love this podcast. Jordan, Jesse, and guest (I’m guessing Ify Nwadiwe?) are funny, stupid, and pointless. Just what I need for my long commute or for folding the laundry.

    The Rashomon of podcasts.
New guests hear Jordan and Jesses same 5 stories each week. Solid premise Finally got an iPhone after listening to this for 12 years. 5 stars Support maximum fun

I dragged my unsuspecting husband into this
After a solid 7 years of listening to this show in secret, I dragged my husband to one of their live shows (summer bois of summer tour, if you must know, this review is long overdue). “It’s just a podcast I like, with two guys talking about nothing.” He is a real summer boi himself so I figured he’d appreciate it. I didn’t tell him that I seek refuge in this show on stressful days, or just how wonderful and dumb and filthy this “nothing” show could be. After the show, he looked at me differently, though I couldn’t figure out if his emotion was respect or disgust. Five stars for the mystery this show has added into my marriage.

    The best
Thoughtful, funny, men who make a fun and weird space for everybody. Top notch goofuses. Incredible listening and old episodes stand up. A+

    Stupid show smart people like
I got into JJGO several years ago after an ad they put out that called it the stupid show smart people like, and I have to say that it has remained that ever since. Jordan and Jesse are a good hang with laser-sharp comedic instincts. It's a show so good, it doesn't need a premise (the premise is riffing).

    Most fun show about nothing!
Have been listening to this show since it started. Two college buddies started a show at UC Santa Cruz and just kept podcasting for almost 20 years now. Jordan is one of the funniest and quickest minds out there. Jesse’s sense of humor and arcane references, coupled with his NPR host skills, lend a false seriousness that makes the silliness of Ben more fun. They do a great job cracking wise with their guests and I don’t know what else to say but I love this show.

    Brightens my week
This podcast is a refuge of silliness in a stressful and frustrating world. No matter how my week is going, no matter what a terrible mood I'm in, when I see that there's a new JJGO waiting for me, my mood is instantly brightened. And if I'm feeling down and there isn't a new episode, dipping into the back catalogue will distract me from anything that's going on. Jordan and Jesse have a perfect chemistry, one of those rare pairings that is guaranteed to create comedy every time. Jordan is kindhearted and easygoing and silly. Jesse is a little grumpy and also kindhearted and silly. When you add amazing guests like Susan Orlean, Maria Bamford, and Tig Notaro, it is perfection. And even in a rare guestless episode, it is still perfection. Like hanging out with old friends. I never miss an episode!

    One of my favorites
I have been listening every week for something like 15 years and have developed an almost certainly unhealthy parasocial relationship with these guys. Still enjoying it though…

    Momentous occasion
This is just the second review I’ve written for a podcast. I got into MaxFun through Judge John Hodgman, a spinoff of JJGo, and have been nothing but delighted by the podcast community offered by MaxFun. Jordan and Jesse are consistently hilarious with a self-deprecating charm. I have utmost respect for the Thorne family and hope that Jordan ends up with a son or trans-masc son at some point. I’m a SINK (single income, no kids) and a PANK(professional aunt, no kids) and I share my home with a feline named Mariposa and a corgo named Llewelyn. Anyway, love the show! I’m a summer boy for lyfe!

    The dumbest, best podcast
JJGO is silly and fun and kind and hilarious and warm and smart and dumb and probably my favorite podcast ever.

Always at the Top of My List
Beloved and long running nonsense podcast, hosts Jordan and Jesse have an almost magical touch when it comes to merging their comedic energy with the week’s guest. I love it. They’re great. My only complaint is that I can’t listen to it while exercising because it’s made me fall over with a cramp from laughing while running multiple times.

    A Remarkable Show
Jordan’s great, Jesse’s great (and the Jesse haters are so WEIRD), their rapport is nigh unparalleled in the comedy podcast space, or really any podcast space. I’m glad for them, and grateful for this show.

    Delightful
I got hooked on JJGO after Jessie plugged it on The Sound Of Young America ages ago, been listening ever since. Don’t know why.

    Rein in Jesse
This show used to be hilarious, but it is now all about Jesse and not nearly enough Jordan, who, let’s face it, is the funny one. I don’t care about your migraines, your trans kid, or your flea market finds. Be funny.

    Hilariously dumb and also smart
This show is terrific but I can’t explain why. It’s very funny, trust me.

    Lame and dumb
Annoying man boys that think they are soooo funny. Good cringe factor if you’re into that. For an actually funny show on this network head on over to the Greatest Generation or The Greatest Trek.

Keep it up, Jordan, Jesse, Go!
Two funny best friends and (most of the time) an equally funny guest host. Bring back Hang It Up, Keep It Up!

I don’t have a witty title for this.
Usually a fun guest and I’m a big fan of Jordan!
  • Uselessdave
    Great.
Great guests and the chemistry of long time friends Jordan and Jesse make this show very funny. Never takes itself too seriously, often strays into the gutter, but in a way that doesn't make you feel bad about yourself for listening. Great work, and keep it up!

    Two best friends
Jordan, Jesse, Go! is my favorite podcast. Jordan and Jesse’s friendship makes this podcast unique and I appreciate that their humor is at times slapstick but also witty and sincere.

    Jesse Thorn is anti-comedy
Another show where I love everyone on it except Jesse.

    A delight!
Jordan is as funny as anyone! How is he not universally appreciated as a national treasure yet? Jesse is also very funny, and one of the best collaborators in comedy, always providing a great laugh and heart to everything he does. Thanks guys!

I’ve been listening for years. I will continue to do so. It’s a great show that makes me happy.

    Bandana
Love the show. Jesse, wear a bandana under your dad hat and it will absorb the sweat. It’s what bandanas are for, aside from signaling sexual preference and gang allegiances. Again, love the show.

    Hilarious, dumb, and also hilarious
I love this show. Jordan Morris is constantly funny, and Jesse has a unique combination of characteristics: he is both wise and terrifically dumb. Their chemistry is wonderful and they typically have fabulous guests. In fact, they’ve exposed me to lots of great comedians and writers over the years.

    Trevor Moore…
Found your show in my celebration of Trevor Moore. I need humor in my life but I am very picky with my comedy. WKUK skits never get old for me. I pull them up for pretty much every person I meet. And I think I’ve found a new podcast for me. Thank you for providing and thank you Trevor for taking me here. 💜

Best podcast on Maxfun, best podcast on any other network. Not sure how to call in I have a couple drug rugs and in high school I had a pair of stolen bowling shoes.

Just Like Hollywood Handbook but for Normies
Love me some (i.e. eps with ppl Ive actually heard of) JJGO. Great show, a rollicking conversation. A little hard to get into immediately, takes a few to truly fall in love. In a lot of ways JJGO is so much like Hollywood Handbook - just like the undisputed Best

    Good but...
Oh my god, I'm not sure, but ever single time I've listened to an episode it is "Maximum Fun Fund Drive" time! Jeez. And these "fund drive" breaks are 5 to 8 minutes long. And there are like 4 to 5 breaks for a single episode. This isn't a podcast to turn on and do my thing because I am constantly having to stop to fast forward through all these terrribly annoying breaks. I also feel that Jessie Thorn has jumped the shark with the "I'm a hipster" look with his shaved head and giant unkempt beard to "I'm a inmate at Broadmoor and am spending my days looking for the first use of a word in the old books on my shelf".
