    I learn so much
I am not a social worker but I am a mental health advocate and author. So I listen to learn more and this podcast never disappoints. Better yet I can share episodes that help others. So many episodes help in everyday relationships because you have a better understanding of human behavior

Forging EB Social Workers 1 podcast at a time!
If you want to be an excellent evidence based, educated social worker with a broad scope, listen to the Social Work Podcast. Just when I feel like I am insterestd in one population, the Social Work Podcast releases another podcast that inspires me in another direction! Dr. Singer is one of the most engaging interviewers I have ever learned from and listened to. Not only does Dr. Singer have a gift at keeping his podcasts breif, and filled with evidence based practice, he also provides practical steps for attaining more information in the area of interest. Also, though an expert with a ton of experience, Dr. Singer doesn't take himself too serious! Your time will be be well spend here, while your social work skills become refined.

If you ever wanted to know about social work
I love this show, from the Klezmer music at the beginning to the explanation of terms, history and practice within.

    Like the show
Hello, I am a social worker in Michigan, and I like the show. It has been helpful in various ways for lots of projects and professional dillemas. My issue is a lack of feminist theory, focus of people of color, specifically working with African Americans in the US, and shows on working with men. There is so much to discuss in this area that is unsupported in the mainstream, and is being perpetuated on podcasts and any media stream. Let’s hear about how to work with cultural, race and gender issues in this patriarchal structure we are all thrown into.

    Quality is here
Dr. Singer has a “warm while informed” approach to every interview and the experts he engages in this podcast. His ability to dive deep into issues in 30 minutes is fantastic. I just finished the 3 part series on the code of ethics and I now recommend this series to my students.

    Excellent Resource
Dr. Singer’s Social Work Podcast is an excellent resource for social work practitioners, students, and academics. I often assign these podcasts for both undergraduate and graduate students as he has a variety of topics and guests. Students really enjoy them and appreciate the knowledge they gain. As an academic, they also allow me to stay up-to-date on relevant social work issues. Thanks Dr. Singer!

    Wonderfully insightful!
Jonathan has a really nice touch when interviewing subjects. He’s curious and thoughtful about how social workers approach social work and how they delve into issues, scratching beneath the surface to really educate listeners - social workers and lay people alike. If you’re studying or considering a career in this field - this podcast is like a grad level course on therapy, practice, and social justice. Also love the podcast Social Work Talks, in which NASW tackles social work current events.

    Thought provoking content!
Thank you for covering a variety of topics. I have referred my MSW students to this podcast. There is always content that every social worker should be informed about, but it’s also accessible to those who are not in the field. The interviews are very engaging!

    Wow
Jonathan Singer is an engaging voice in what are often difficult subjects - to address and to hear. However, he approaches them with empathy and compassion, bringing insights and world-class guests in to shine light on bits of our darkness. There are nuggets anyone can use in every episode. Thanks!!

    I love this podcast!
It doesn’t matter if months go by without listening to this podcast. Every time I listen it’s like the first time. I love all the topics and how easy it is to listen to these. All the guests are always precise and speak well and the host does an amazing job in his introductions.

    This podcast was EVERYTHING
It’s relevant. It’s thought provoking. Engaging. Informative. Needed. From the aspiring social work student to the seasoned veteran. There is something here for you. I was the aspiring new graduate testing for a license. Listening to easily 30+ episodes in a short amount of weeks really assisted in taking all the academic knowledge and synthesizing it to practical use. It reinforced what I’d learned and allowed for better memory retention. A must for all people in helping fields. The only con! Need more social work podcast! Brilliant and amusing. If I could run to this and NOT lose interest, believe it was gooooooood

    Education, Entertaining, and Empowering
As a current BSW student, this podcast has and continues to educate me on a plethora of Social Work content. This podcast brings us history, theories, research from other professionals, and laughter. I discovered this podcast a few months ago, and I began to listen to the most recent shows. After listening, I decided to start from the beginning because I enjoy this podcast so much. I suggest this podcast for all students, professors, and other Social Work professionals. Subscribe, download, and become more educated on Social Work areas of all!

Stay Up to Date at the Pace of Today!
Love the wide range of sublets discussed and am so grateful on breaking info (I.e. most recent ethics) - I can stay educated while walking for exercise or driving to work - in fact, NASW should consider issuing CEU’s for listening ... not sure how to make that happen, but it’s just an idea. You will find yourself referring back to some podcasts again and again. I’ve also made little cheat sheet reminders on some of the content presented during these podcasts (you know those things that you just want to keep on top of your mind). Highly recommend for professionals and students as well as professionals from similar-like professions to social work!

    Informative and Important
The podcast touches on an array of important topics in the social sciences/social service field. Although it is educational and being taught in BSW and MSW programs alike, it is also a program that can easily be enjoyed by any outside of the field as well.
  • jasonpauljohnston

    Outstanding
Dr. Sanger never fails to provide interesting, relevant topics that inspire me to become an educated and better ethical social worker and professional in the mental health field. I look forward to every episode. What sets this podcast apart from the rest is that he is responsive to his audience, asking questions that practitioners and academics are curious about. Definitely listen to this one!

    High quality podcast
I have a bugaboo about podcasts that are poorly organized and more navel gazing than substance. This podcast is none of those things! The Social Work Podcast is professionally conducted and provides current material and interviews with folks who know what they are talking about. Informative and a pleasure to listen to - you win my respect and loyalty! Thank you for producing a quality and relevant podcast!
  • Johnny Fries
    Educational and engaging
This podcast is educational and engaging. The host covers many topics that will keep a social worker interested. Keep up the great interviews!
  • K.Bryde
Every social work student should be recommended this...
I am in my first year of my MSW and it's hard to feel connected to the social work field in more ways than physical presence. I read articles, I attend workshops, I volunteer but I didn't realize that I was missing a more communications base of social work. There is unlimited learning here. Jonathan gives us an interview, an insight, a question, a point of view (etc) and lets us do our own learning whether we listen to the entire episode, know one more person in a certain field, search all the concepts talked about, ponder a program or current research for hours, or simply spend one more hour of the day immersing one's self into the ever expanding field of social work. As a social work student, I could not be more grateful for this podcast. Thank you, Jonathan. Was recommended this podcast by one of my TAs and I continue to recommend it to others.

WHY I LOVE THE SOCIAL WORK PODCAST
The Social Work Podcast is an excellent learning resource for audiences ranging from persons who are just interested in the topics, to Social Work students, to seasoned clinicians. It offers a versatile mix of study reviews and of information that Social Workers need in order to stay abreast of the field and remain informed. The format is clear and easy to follow. The host is charismatic and funny, asks great questions, clears up TLAs (Three-Letter-Acronyms) and clarifies concepts. I listen to it all of the time and even volunteered to transcribe episodes. I love the Kletzmer music: it prepares me to listen to something exciting.

I've been listening since I was in grad school and always encourage colleagues (and supervisees) to tune in.
