    I'm not even a storyteller
But I love this podcast. I started listening for the stories, but stayed for the amazing insights that have enriched my life in all sorts of ways. So much practical information for people who want to start storytelling, too! Definitely try it out. Hope he comes back, in the meantime, I'm re-listening to back episodes.

    Tim Tingle!
Awesome! An interview with Tim Tingle!? He taught my Storytelling class for the University of Oklahoma's travel study program in Santa Fe. I loved every minute of this trip with him as our captain. I am so looking forward to listening to this.

    My favorite podcast!
What a joy to be able to hear from experienced storytellers - their journeys and their 'take' on what directions storytelling may take. For an emerging storyteller living in a rural setting with little access or opportunity to see live professional storytellers, these podcasts are truly a gift. My understanding of what storytelling can and does mean has greatly expanded by listening to these wonderful shows. I travel with the Brother Wolf podcasts, and it certainly makes the trip shorter and more enjoyable. Thanks, Eric! Well done, and keep up the good work!

A 21st Century answer to forgotten Guilds
I cannot give enough laud and praise to "The Art of StoryTelling". When I decided to look at storytelling as more than just a hobby, Eric Wolf and his assorted guests made up the piecemeal apprenticeship to introduce me to the big names and show me the ropes a bit. Guests cover a wide variety of techniques, ranging from traditional tellers to a psychiatrist personalizing folk tales as part of therapy. I am impressed with the unique insight each guest brings. I never fail to learn something new about history, technique or theory of storytelling; sometimes I even feel like I should be taking notes from a master's lecture. A few technical issues like irregular volume levels, some hissing, and mono sound on a handful of podcasts. However, they do not detract from the over all value of the show. High kudos to "The Art of Storytelling".

    Awesome
This podcast has such value to new storytellers. I have wanted to be one for many years, but have limited myself to local schools and family parties. What a great wealth of knowledge I am gaining everyday. Now if he could just give me courage!

    Quality Stuff!
This is a podcast that is both broad and deep. It's practical, but in a way that allows the universal and even philosophical truths to be made known. It's also very engaging and very friendly. Brother Wolf is an amazing guy, and his guests are amazing, too!

    New to Storytelling
I am new to storytelling and I luckily stumbled onto Eric's podcast. This show is a one-stop for hearing from the best storytellers about how to tell stories. I wanted to learn how to tell stories to my newborn son when he gets a bit older, and I am learning that an a whole lot more from this podcast. What I love most about this show now, after hearning a lot of shows, is that there are many guests who engage students and audiences in social issues and character development through stories. It's just very inspiring to hear all of the possibilities of how stories reach people.

    Deep Stuff for all thinkers...
Eric Wolf's podcast invites superlatives but they seem beside the point. His show is just so good that words like amazing and excellent are weak. Educators from every discipline and thinkers of any stripe will find will find food that is truly nourishing in the words nd conversations collected here. I often listen to some podcasts more than once to get all the goodness out. Thank you Eric for this fabulous work.

    The Art of Storytelling...
Eric Wolf provides a welcome resource for any and all storytellers by including topics on his podcast from general tips and tricks to marketing your craft. Whether you are interested in storytelling in literacy, storytelling that includes music, or storytelling in business, there is something for everyone here. Eric has somehow mastered the art of an interview to the point that the caller feels comfortable enough to ask even to ask about the smallest personal concerns and the "celebrity" seems as though he/she is in the room having a cup of tea and relaxing right along with you. Thank you, Brother Wolf, from one of your newest fans! Tricia Tunesn'tales

    There is much to explore.
Eric Wolf picks up the charge where our Storyteller.net Amphitheater began. Now, with easier technologies, Eric has reached out to a huge variety of storytellers to explore the subtle nuances of our craft. Well done. Agreeing or disagreeing, there is much to explore in these podcasts.

    Fantastic content...very interesting!
Eric Wolf of the Art of Storytelling with Children does a wonderful job in documenting many of today's best storytellers. In his well-prepared interviews, he is able to get at the nuances that make great storytellers. His foresight to gather this body of knowledge will be used for years to come, not only by future storytellers, but by educators across the world who want to refine their ability to reach out to children.

    Love this Podcast!
Brother Wolf does a great job of bringing today's top storytellers, from all genres, to the microphone. His easy, comfortable style, allows his guests to explore their own ideas and ideals, often for the first time. I especially like the fact that he doesn't limit his definition of what a storyteller is. His interviews include "classic" storytellers as well as those with non-verbal, musical, comic, and historical approaches. Well done Brother Wolf, keep it up, we're listening!

    Very Helpful Information
Eric, I thank you for making your interviews available on iTunes. I am on Pacific time and can not catch the interviews live. I am a storyteller trying to make storytelling my fulltime business. I learn from each of your guest. Keep up the good work. kbjbht

A Gift to the Storytelling Community
Eric Wolf's roster of guests reads like a who's who of presenters from regional and national storytelling conferences. What's more: while talking with Eric, the guests, all of whom share practical advice and hard-earned wisdom, don't limit themselves to storytelling with children. From marketing to artistic process to community outreach to education, Eric's guests will provide anyone interested in storytelling with useful information from diverse perspectives.(And yes, if you work with children, you will also get practical advice on performing for those audiences). Each podcast takes the form of an interview, done via conference call, recorded as is, and then archived on the Web. The beauty of the conference call feature is that it allows listeners to participate, and ask questions of the guest. The work Eric is doing here is profound in so many ways. It's elegantly simple, and yet, within the storytelling community, it's avant garde: First, he seeks out people that he wants to learn from. He's not setting himself up as the expert. He's inviting the experts onto his show. (Also, his interview style does a fine job of modeling attentive listening) Second, he invites us to not only listen in, but participate in the discussion, both on the conference call, and via comments on each episode's web page. Third, he maximizes accessibility: you can listen via iTunes, you can download any of the shows, or you can just click around on the Web site and listen. Fourth, he makes this invaluable learning resource available for free.

    I LISTEN & LEARN
Well, I just wanted to chime in here and say what a VALUABLE RESOURCE this podcast is in my life. When my paperwork piles up and it's unpleasant outside, I hunker down and turn on these conversations. I SO ENJOY hearing knowlegeable people who've spent alot of time in a praticular area waxing on elegantly (or not) on their topic. I find Eric to be provocative and supportive of these luminaries, some well known and others completely new... it's just a wonderful resource! Out here in the middle of the Pacific, these Art of Storytelling with Children has proven to be a golden opportunity to go on delicious field trips. BRAVO!

Great podcast, but MAY NOT satisfy You...
Although this review may seem somewhat negative, it is NOT. This is a GREAT program, but it is definitely not a program designed for new, amateur storytellers who only want to entertain and educate their own children and friends. While the podcast is about storytelling WITH (not precisely "to") children, the majority of episodes seem to center on the business of storytelling, and not so much technique and style. As a new amateur storyteller, seeking to learn about storytelling as a medium to teach and entertain children in my neighborhood and church, the podcast is mostly unfulfilling. In terms of learning about the "storytelling movement," how to participate in and run storytelling festivals and events, or how to make money as a storyteller, the podcast is incredibly smart, fun, educational, inspirational and well-rounded. I highly recommend The Art of Storytelling with Children. Brother Wolf is an exceptional host, with great programs. But if you are looking for a place to learn about basic storytelling FOR children, this is not going to satisfy most of the time. Good episodes for storytelling FOR children: #003-Medicine Story, #006-Judith Black, #008-Stephen Hollen, #013-Cynthia Changaris, #027-Karen Czarnik, #028-Brother Blue (BEST EVER-All Husbands Listen to This!), #032-Heather Forrest

    A Gift for Storytellers
What an incredible resource. As a professional storyteller, I have gleaned much from all of the interviews that Eric has had on this podcast, and I've only listened to half of them so far. From beginners to the most advanced of storytellers, these interviews and the information shared increases the quality of what we do. I am humbled by all of the things I have yet to learn, but energized and motivated to do that learning. Thank you Eric and all of the storytellers that share their time with you and us the listeners.

Eric's podcast is a delicious Salad Bar for storytelling
This podcast is the Storytellers’ Salad Bar for anyone entering the storytelling world. All it’s many episodes can give nutritious and sumptious information for people who listen to, teach, perform (whether casually in a family or professionally on a stage) stories. If you’re a teacher wanting “how to” engage the bored student with storytelling, or the season professional looking at new approaches or even just want to listen to viewpoints gathered from the collective wisdom of the storytelling community this podcast is grand feast (second and third helpings encouraged!). This podcast is very well produced. We think Eric has done a fine job of interviewing, asking the deeper questions about this Art form, and most important conveying the Art of Listening. We HIGHLY recommend this podcast. We will definitely make it a permanent subscription on my iTunes and tell others to log on, sign up and plug in! Great job Eric!
