Can tell you how much I love this podcast. You can’t get more wholesome than this. The writers do such a good job at keeping all of the scenarios, realistic, and relatable. They aren’t ridiculously sensationalized. They pink such a lovely picture and I really appreciate it.

I’ve been married to a fifth generation small scale dairy farmer for 42 years and I can say with certainty that the ag consultants on this show know what they’re talking about. It is, by far, the most authentic and real depiction of farming I have ever encountered, apart from, maybe, the original TV series of All Creatures Great and Small, from the 70s. I’m consistently blown away by everything from the attention to detail, the realistic situations, the veterinary issues, and the financial struggles. Lately, their depiction of land access is of huge relevance! Even though I’m in the US, and the political landscape is different, the struggles of farmers dealing with a messed up food and ag system is universal. This whole program gets it astoundingly right.

When I was a child, I dreaded my mother playing The Archers on the radio (or in the evening if she had missed the earlier airing) because my brother and I had to be quiet. Even worse, was Sunday lunch when the omnibus episode was played and the whole family, including our grandparents, sat listening to the week in Ambridge. Things changed when, after emigrating to the US decades ago, one of the things I looked forward to on visits in the UK was listening to the latest goings on in Ambridge. I am so happy to be able to play the SAME program on Podcasts today. I literally grew up with these families.

It’s a show that takes a bit of dedication to listen to at first because there are quite a few characters but once you get into it it will be addictive. I’m on my 8 year now and love a quick break from the day with a cuppa and the goings on in Ambridge

I have become utterly addicted to this incredible programme. No wonder it has such a long history. The acting is superb. The talent it takes to get through to the audience with just one single mode: sound. No special effects or trick photography needed! Modern-day issues are brought to the fore and spoken about from a number of angles. And I love that I learn something new with each episode. Or see something from a different angle. I make it a top luxury of mine, by listening to it once I am in bed and relaxed (I’m an ex-pat living in New York). Lights out. Archers on. I cannot overstate how much this programme means to me and also does for me. Thank you to all of those involved in the creation of The Archers.

Someone should check the intro. The woman’s voice is cut off too soon. She seems to be saying BBC Radio Vodka. Of course it should be “BBC Radio Podcast” but the word “podcast” is cut to “podka “—- which with her lovely accent has a strong similarity to “vodka.” Just sayin’.

This is now verging on the ridiculous. Not only did Chelsea take WEEKS to make a decision, now we have Ben wallowing in self-loathing and making everything worse. This is not helpful to the many people/couples who are going through the exact same situation but who don’t have the luxury of time or sympathetic family/friends. Let’s move on for pity’s sake.

Loved the Archers for years now, and miss the normal 6 day week schedule! When can we get more please?

I just love The Archers. Real people. Real problems. Real heart. I’ve been listening for over 15 years and it’s just a piece of me.

Can we all say goodbye to Alice? I realize all the different characters are what make The Archers so enjoyable, but I’ve started skipping episodes if I see that Alice is featured. Waste of time and oxygen!

People bemoan having to bemoan [dull, veg boxes, soup, cows, blah] about TA and then an episode as we just had on 29 Dec 2021 drops. And all heck breaks loose. Well, good for the SWs. Twitter and TA FB groups blew up. The story touched so very many people so viscerally, and in myriad ways no less. Gee whiz, it was TA at its best.

Join the millions of people who listen to this really first-rate soap and fall in love with "Ambridge," a small fictional farming community and the fascinating characters who live there. The show is socially aware, moving at times, funny at others, with excellent production values. The acting is superb and the plots often include timely depictions of social problems presented in ways which are sympathetic and educational yet also entertaining. I haven't missed an episode in 12 years and I'm sure a great many listeners have better records than mine. It's a wonderful institution going back to 1951 which has been lovingly maintained and kept relevant.

I’m a red-blooded American male. I would not have considered the soap opera as a valid genre except for women. But then I met the Archers. Initially I came in for the rural soundscapes and the general emphasis on people who are neither nobles nor royals. As it happened, however, I sucked myself into the plot and characters. I miss Fridays and Sundays, but the show is literally a mainstay for me.

I love the Archers! Been listening for years now . However yesterday’s storyline was shocking!!!! Philip talking to his son about “selling his work crew on”! Selling for a good price! Selling?!?!?! Modern day out and out slavery!!!! Perhaps in a coming episode this could be somehow explained! Surely these working men cannot be sold off?!?!? Is this a common practice in UK?!?!?! Phew! The storyline has revealed itself and it had been played out beautifully. Philip gets found out... and pays the price we can only hope . It has been a very well written storyline about an important and little talked about issue.

I’ve been listening to the Archers for at least 45 years. I’ve lived in the US for 35 of those years. When I first moved from the UK my parents would record the omnibus edition on tapes. It was a special a day when a package full of tapes arrived and I could catch up with life in Ambridge. I’ve listened to those tapes on road trips. I remember we were driving through the Arizona Desert when John Archer was killed! Now modern technology lets me keep up to date in real time! I’m still a big fan in spite of all the difficulties with recordings made during this pandemic. Thanks’ BBC for this podcast.

How long is this slow unimaginative dialogue going on? Others have managed to play music, sing, and quite do quite a few other activities.

Great to have the show back but why must we listen to dogs barking their heads off in the background? We get enough of that in my own neck of the woods . I keep thinking "the poor neighbors!"

I grew up listening to the Archers in the 1960s while my mum did the ironing. Now I’m living is California and still able to feel like I’m home in Cardiff. Trivia Note: I once dated a girl in the 80s whose family lived next door to the agricultural story editor! I have now downgraded my review to 1 star because you mass deleted 2 months worth of episodes I was saving for a long road trip . Heartbroken I was not able to follow the events post explosion they COVID and furious you ruined my road trip I literally checked yesterday my episodes were there, this morning I turned on on the car to find out they’d been trimmed back to 30 days. I’m assuming you or apple did something to force the 30 day limit without warning me that I would lose the old episodes, and I’m sure you’ll both pass the buck but just to let you know you have someone who will never buy Apple again.

Living in the states for the last 15 years I really missed you when you went off the air. So glad you are back and although it must be challenging for you I am enjoying the new format very much. You are my happy place for my Britishness Please keep safe all of you.

Many people around the world look to the BBC as a dependable oasis of comfort and stability. I’m delighted you continue to produce quality shows like the Friday comedy with the participants in their homes, but don’t understand why you can’t do the same thing for the Archers. What you’re doing to this drama at the moment is half-hearted rubbish. If you don’t make the effort to fix it, this, the world’s longest running show, will have no audience and will be gone for good.

The Arches was a fabulous show. Since they started recording during the virus it is intolerable. BBC should be able to figure out how to record a dialog with multiple people. I am so disappointed. We wanted to find out what would happen to Philip. Please BBC engineers, get the characters to interact, even if they are social distancing.

Historic! The episode “Making Mince Pies with Jill Archer” is unquestionably the most hypnotically boring 13 minutes in broadcast radio history.

So grateful to have 15 minutes of UK here in Mexico! And so glad the present stories were pre-recorded before Covid-19- so refreshing not to hear! Thanks for stretching out the last reminder of episodes - even if we have to give up a day or two it’s still such a pleasurable listen!

What’s happened to Friday episodes? This is the second week they haven’t been available!

I watch the television and it’s coronavirus 24/7. I listen to the radio and it coronavirus 24/7. Can’t we for 13 short minutes a day be entertained without the thought of coronavirus?

This is my little piece of home from the sounds of the countryside to the local pub, Jills homemade cakes, the narrative the nostalgia all enjoyed whilst living here. in the desert of Arizona. I’ve listened for many years usually while soaking in the bath !

I now live in the US and my 15 minutes a day with the Archers keeps me connected to home. Love it. Always fun, relevant and never boring!

I’ve been à daily listener for about 25 years. Until today. Fed up with the homosexual propaganda. So voting with my feet.

I lived in the foot hills of the blue ridge mountains for 25 years and haven’t missed a beat of the Archers. Berkshire and Devon were my Home Counties, but I notice I now talk, mainly to myself , with a Borcetshire accent. Alongside the dear folks of ambridge I enjoy DUMTEDUM , dissecting every character and nuance of the archers characters. Looking forward to hearing their views of Brexit next week!

Now presently living in America, I am suffering real England withdrawals... minus the Brexit headaches!? I love the fact that every day I can listen to a good story about humanity, livestock, technology, and land..all .coexisting and forming wonderful relationships along the way. It has been such a pleasure to see this amazing series is still going strong. Thank you!

I’ve been listening to The Archers for about 10 years and Dumteedum pretty much since it started. Roifield and Lucy provide knowledgeable, humorous, socially insightful and personal commentary on our favorite “contemporary drama in a rural setting.” They have built an engaged community of listeners and contributors to the podcast. Folks call in with commentary and plot predictions not just from the UK, but the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, Singapore, and all corners of the world. Listeners are so engaged they have meetups all around the world and support each other during times of trouble. As a year round traveler, I appreciate the “around the dinner table” dynamic of the Dumteedum podcast which makes me feel like I’m spending time with people I know and care about. This podcast is a “must listen to” for Archers fans wherever you are in the world.

My little bit of home in Huntsville Alabama. Have been listening since the first one. Moved to the states in 1970 and my mother faithfully recorded every omnibus on tape and posted it to me. When she died a few years ago I started with the podcasts. I love my Archer family and the people of Ambridge. Some episodes make you laugh, some cry and some mad. Love it!!! 💙💙💙
