    Content A+, audio quality F
Great content, but my goodness, why do they mumble and whisper? Hey guys, this is audio.

My go to wine education source
Love the podcast. My go to source for all things wine education and finding some awesome wines - like the Do ferreiro Albariño!! I wish the website would list all the wines (and some of the non wine stuff) tasted in the podcast
  • JNLCIA
    Can’t rate
I didn’t bother to listen after reading reviews about host interrupting the quest. It plaques most podcasts for the the exception of Levi Dalton whom all podcasters should listen and learn

    Blind tastings
I love the blind tasting podcasts and how each person has a unique approach. I also like the structure component that is usually discussed. I noticed there was no tasting episode for July 2024- I hope it’s not going away!

    Let the guests cook!
I was disappointed in the recent podcast with Sother Teague. He was obviously very knowledgeable and I loved his hospitality approach- but the interview questions were terrible and answers consistently interrupted by Tanghe tangents and “epiphanies”. This happens frequently in previous episodes where Chris goes on a useless and unnecessary rant. I wanted to hear more about cocktails and knowledge on bitters- not how Chris was such a Boy Scout as a chef. Let the guests cook!

    Great podcast with Kelli White
Incredibly knowledgeable on the history of Napa Valley wine, I never cease to learn something new every time I listen to Kelli talk about wine.

    A valuable resource!
Thank you so much for this podcast! I love that it is relevant and educational for folks who work in the wine industry. It’s a valuable resource and a joy to listen to. My husband and I went on a bit of a podcast bender and listened to four blind tasting episodes yesterday, thank you!!

    My favorite podcast!
I love this podcast - I’m always waiting on the next episode to come out, especially the blind tasting episodes. So informative to wine lovers of all levels.

    Speak up!
Chris, love your knowledge but it’s unnerving most times trying to hear you. Your guests, on the other hand, project their voices nicely. I know you’re a laid back host but your monotone needs amplification to make the shows more engaging. Thanks.

    Great info/poor sound balance
Like the previous reviewer, I love this podcast BUT the interviewer/host is too quiet and I struggle hearing everything especially when listening on walks. But really solid interviews and very helpful for my studies in the Diploma program with WSET.

Great wine podcast for industry folks
Love this podcast and how connected to the full world of the wine industry it is. If I could ask one thing it would be for better (louder sound) I love listening while I’m out and about in the city but I miss a lot due to the low sound level. Looking forward to another year of great wine content! Thanks!
  • Arrowhead 501
    Chris please speak up!
This is one of my favorite podcasts. Chris is a wealth of wine knowledge. The issue that have is that at time he’s barely audible.

    Blind Tasting with Pez
I am usually a big fan of the podcast. The latest episode, however, was very disappointing. Just underscoring the fact that blind tasting is hard is not very helpful. I was really looking forward to some personal insights or at least those “rubber hose” aphorisms instead there was only “oh, well, it’s tough; sometimes I get it right, and sometimes I don’t”. I hope the discussion in Spanish version was much more fruitful.
  • Helen Baillie-Senger
    Episodes in Spanish
I absolutely loves and thoroughly enjoyed the episode in Spanish! It was everything I wanted to hear and more! Please, do not stop making these!
  • G Town Blues
    Great information
I’m a big fan. The information and presentation make it educational and easy to listen to
  • Alexstrath1
Goes deeper than any other show
Whether it’s Chris, Stacy, or Bryce leading the interview, or the blind tastings with Emily, I love this show and can’t wait for future episodes.
  • Pod Love
    Long Winded
It took 6 minutes for someone to actually speak about Sangiovese. But then we hear Carla talk like, “ sooo like “ aaand interesting? “ and I was like sooo amazzzimg and I was like soooo into it ? “ I ceased listening and moved on to Levi Dalton.

    Protest Geoff Kruth
Many interesting contents I would like to listen to but I will not subscribe or download because if Geoff Kruth.
  • ConcernedSomm
    Delete Geoff Kruth's podcasts!
The title says it all. I will be boycotting this podcast until Geoff Kruth's content is removed.

    Most informational wine podcast available
There is no excuse for what Geoff Kruth did during his time in GuildSomm. However, if we disregard that and only focus on the content, this is one of the best, if not the best, wine podcast available. The guests on this show are the leading experts in the industry. The information is cutting edge. I have read a lot of wine books on my spare time, but the information provided in these podcasts expand so much of my knowledge. The hosts really have the knowledge to challenge the guest to reveal information that is one layer deeper than on the surface.
  • David Market
    Wildly tone dead
I guess they’re just going to ignore Geoff being a sexual predator.
  • DrewStansen
    Kruth’s creepiness on full display
Appalling that the episodes with Geoff Kruth remain available. On the other hand, a couple of minutes of his self-absorbed, supercilious babble confirms that everything he is now accused of is more than possible.

    Great content, Horrible Audio Mixing
On some episodes, the audio is “okay,” but several episodes are mostly unintelligible. I can hardly understand anything the interviewee is saying because the volume is too low and the mix is muddled. Please work on this. Mix to in-ear speakers please.
  • AlisonMT
    Great content, poor audio
Love this podcast! I enjoy all the topics discussed, and am learning more about wine as a result. I live in a winemaking region, and it gives me new insight into wine overall. Only one request: improve the audio, please! It sounds tinny and I have to adjust the volume frequently.
  • DPSTIX
    Amazing podcast!
Also a wine nerd (not a professional). The content is in this podcast, bar none. The best out there. Very informative and presented well. I especially like to here Geoff’s thoughts on blind tasting. I would like to see bi-monthly episodes, ideally more on wine tasting and basics of wine chemistry.
  • Polanyi85
    More (and more champagne!)
Not a professional, just a nerd, and this is some of the best content available. My only lament is that there aren’t more - a move to bi-monthly podcasts would be a real treat. Would love to hear you guys interview Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon about Roederer’s wines and viticulture.
  • After the Romans
    2019 Year in Review
Love the year in review podcasts. It is especially helpful to get insights from such a diverse group of wine people - wine writer, wine merchant, sommelier. Tariffs, cans, wines that they are excited about. Opinions that I disagree with but provoke me to think deeper and be more open to the broader wine world. Good stuff!
  • West Nasty Wine Club
    Great Pod!
As a wine nerd (not a professional) I find this not only to be the most educational podcast, but perhaps the best free content available. Geoff, Chris, Kelli, and Bryce cover a wide array of subjects with great detail. Even better, they bring the most complex subjects to a level that any interested listener can follow and learn.
  • SharvinJ
    I love this podcast
I absolutely love your podcast. I have a passion for wine and being able to listen to your podcast brings me so much joy not to mention all of the knowledge that is offered.
  • Acatalan
    Slow and boring
These podcasts usually have good information but the hosts have no personality. And the episodes turn out to be slow and boring.
  • Zeffross
    Excellent content and delivery!
Excellent content and delivery! Great resource for beginners and the more advanced wine professional. I’ve literally listened to a handful of the episodes (those that are more technical in nature to continue to develop a solid foundation from which I can learn) and I’m impressed at the quality of the interview, the focused nature that Geoff takes during the episodes I’ve listened to thus far, and their concise and succinct nature. I’m just beginning my preparations and study for the introductory Sommelier course and examination. The past 8 weeks have been a storm of reviewing study materials and trying to develop a curriculum that will both prepare me, but keep me from burning out or losing the fire of interest that has thus far driven me. This podcast will definitely be an integral portion of my “other resources” sections in my study outline. Thanks for the great work.

    Fantastic resource
This podcast is a fantastic resource for wine professionals of all kinds. I love being able to get my information in the form of conversations as opposed to lectures. It is a refreshing way to take in the deep world of wine. The content is superb, and I love geeking out on wine chemistry and other more nerdy aspects of wine, especially getting to hear from vignerons themselves! My only gripe is the volume level, and normalization of the different voices on the show. I often find myself listening while driving and need to turn the volume up far louder than other podcasts I listen to. There are also instances when one voice is loud and another is soft or variable in its volume. I believe some simple normalization of the audio along with a gain increase could solve these problems and would bring my appreciation (and review) up to a full five stars!

This podcast is a guide post!
This podcast is a guide post to sommeliers and wine professionals everywhere. Accurate information and detailed notes that anyone in the industry can use to sell more, teach more, and understand more. Brilliant.

    Ultimate wine nerd podcast
This is the ultimate wine nerd podcast. I am not a somm, and most likely never will be (not that I haven’t thought about it here and there) but I love wine and digging down into what goes into it. This podcast really provides some amazing information about wine trends and the science behind wine. Additionally, the podcast has some great stories about people in the wine business and their journey. The blind tasting episodes are some of my favorite because you can play a long and really learn a lot about wine. Overall, a great podcast if you want to geek out over wine.
  • Chad92078
    Great Content
I'm not a wine professional, just a wine geek. I love the technical content and interviews. My only negative... I wish that more content was generated. Keep up the great work!

Where did the earliest episodes go?
I recently started this podcast at the beginning, year 2011/2012 and now those episodes are nowhere to be found. It now starts at 2013. Where did they go? I want the whole thing.

    Gallo
I’m a big fan of these informative podcasts. However the Gallo interview confirmed all of my suspicions of this company. They are simply focused on branding, marketing and market share. And show little or no passion for wine. Regardless of their purchase of prime vineyards or wineries. Once they make such a purchase I assure you the wines will ultimately suffer from bean counting and corporate mentality. Big business is fine if that’s what you are into. But in my experience it leads to inferior wine. I needed a shower after listening.

    Super educational
I listen to this podcast to help broaden my horizons and sharpen my knowledge on the world of wine. Please keep it up!

    Great for non-professionals, too
I heartily recommend this podcast to friends who are interested in wine, even for non-professionals. Once you start learning more about wine, you discover that this podcast features interviews with some of the most respected sommeliers and winemakers in the industry. Credit to Geoff Kruth for his efforts to educate professionals and consumers about his profession. Although geared toward sommeliers, Mr. Kruth's interviews always set a solid foundation for beginners to understand the topic.
  • Write about wine
Not so sure I like this podcast
It just seems that in her opinion everything from the olden days were golden, mostly because all of her limited tasting experiences were of wines someone had thought worthy of aging and did so properly. She knows little of the various grape growing and wine making Nuances of the 40's or 50's. Fast forward to the late 80's until the present, when she actually can talk to hands on people and has some first hand tasting experiences all the sudden she can speak with authority about irrigation and rootstocks and other important criteria. Almost all of mention of people are the shining stars. Generally speaking it does not take 1200 pages to get to the point of any subject and despite some very interesting points does not exactly hit the nail on the head at least on this podcast. Think I heard her with Levi Dalton on his podcast with a little more clarity.

    Very Grateful
2014 marked the beginning of my journey into the wine world. While preparing for my CMS Level 1 -Introductory exam, I have discovered so many wonderful resources to continue this journey. I am studying for my CMS Level 2- Certified and I find a podcast or site that directly relates to my current study. I can't get enough of it...

    "We Are Professional Grade"
This should be the subtitle of this series. Absolute detailed wine information for the wine professional. This series is not afraid of saying thiol and using it to illustrate objective quantifiable traits in the wine. The 3 of 3 cast on wine tasting is quite literally a master class and the best wine tasting guide I have ever seen, heard, or read. Really well done. Well structured, great information (I appreciate the forays into chemistry, as this is what taste and scent detection is about after all!), great emphasis on tying the general characteristic to perceptible qualities and to what that must mean about the grape, its growing conditions, and its path to the glass. As a WSET student I especially appreciate the series' desire to explore outside the CMS scene. There is a demonstrated desire to find the most effective way which builds upon multiple effective traditions. This may be the Jeet Kune Do of wine understanding and discovery!

    Very well done
Certainly one of the best wine podcasts around. I'm loving playing along with the blind tasting series, and the Alsace program was great. Looking forward to future programs on the Mosel and the Finger Lakes.

Good but turn your sound up!
Most of us are listening to these podcasts on computers or ipods...some of your guests make NPR radio hosts sound like rock stars. More sound please for all the marvelous knowledge.

Great free information for wine professionals.
I've literally never listened to podcasts. Just never could get into them. But I've already blown through all of these podcasts in less than a month. Awesome free info for any wine professionals from the leaders of the industry. Each person on each podcast has years of experience at the highest level. Good mix of content and guests. Did I mention it's frickin' free??!

Many thanks to the Guild of Sommeliers! A great teaching tool for getting me prepared to take my Advance exam. Excellent content and to the point.

Excellent deep dive into wine tasting
I consider myself a wine geek and really enjoy these podcasts. The guests and the host are unpretentious but very knowledgeable about wine and wine tasting. I wish there were more podcasts of this caliber.
