Autonomy 🤸🍔✊ GMB Fitness

Fitness #236

Autonomy means deciding and moving. Ryan, Andy, and Jarlo aren't here to shill for some stupid supplement company. This show explores fitness as a way to play your own game and do more of what matters, all based on decades of training, coaching, and clinical experience. And truly awful jokes. If you hate every formulaic fitness podcast, you just might be in the right place.

    Moderation is exciting!
Very refreshing to hear fitness professionals acknowledge that enough is enough, that life has different demands. This is a sustainable vision of health.

    Good Podcast
This is a very useful podcast with lots of information on different muscle groups and joints. I would like to see a few more actionable items in the podcast. For example, a few specific exercises that would make it much more useful. The one on single leg exercises was really good with references to shrimp squat dragon squad etc. So something like that.

    GMB scores
Full of good info... and it is info, not a sales pitch. I appreciate Rose’s added presence as well.

    Simple, straightforward fitness advice
I use some of their mobility guides for the ankles, hips and shoulders, found on their website. I recently started listening to the podcast and love their simple, straight forward approach to fitness. Going to subscribe to their fitness programs when I get a chance.

    Foul
The foul mouth was too much for me. They must have a gutter-level listening base.

Your podcasts inspire me to keep working on what I cannot do in a manner of not pushing for results.

Humorous and fantastic health and fitness advice for busy adults.
If you want to learn how to do cool stuff with your body, and exercise in a way that actually makes you feel good and doesn’t consume your life, check out GMB! Their podcast is both humorous and chock full of great advice. Ryan and Andy are usually hosting and they are hilarious in a sarcastic and irreverent way. The episodes with Jarlo hosting are a bit more serious, but I actually enjoy the change of pace; His interview with Rolando Garcia is very emotional and uplifting, one of my favorite episodes. I’m glad they brought the show back!

Great Examples for any age or fitness level
The GMB crew has such a wealth of knowledge and teaches in a way that helps you understand the progression and have fun doing it. They don’t take themselves too seriously but I put a lot of trust in what they have to say

I have mad respect for these guys. They are really good at coaching and explaining things concisely and with humor and humility. I've purchased their focused flexibility program and it is really helping me regain some lost mobility and be able to work out better. I also really like their positivity and easygoing attitude. They bring a little sunshine to my day when I listen. Thanks guys.

    Challenge Yourself
Bring up lots of points about training that are outside the box. For example, take yourself out of your comfort zone. I took their advice and had the cold shower this morning and it feels great and wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Lots of great advice on various topics. Ryan has a very calm down-to-earth way of discussing things that make them very accessible.

Breaker, breaker one niner… What’s up guys. Love your podcast. I usually practice my handstands while listening to your show and guess what? Just reached my 12 week goal of doing 10 unassisted handstand push ups in a row!! I attribute it greatly to your advice. Keep up the wonderful work!

    Refreshing Alternative
Great Podcast! Not too long…usually around 30 min. If you are using Gold Medal Bodies programs this podcast will be very useful. Advice will range from how perform skills better, how to stay motivated, and habit formation. Very well rounded, and always entertaining. Listening to Ryan and Andy discuss their approach to fitness and movement has helped my attitude change in regards to these things to a more balanced and healthy approach.

Great info...with good sense of humor..
I'been follow GMB for a while. After two programs and check the Pose blog all the time. Funny enough I didn't catch the podcast :( finally I found the link and picked a random episode. Funny again, you guys where saying that nobody from Chile or Japan as been write any reviews. Well, Boom!! I'm from Chile and I writing this in Japan right now..Boom!! drop mic... The show have great info...and a very clear point of view about fitness and movement. Great energy in the panel. I didn't listen all of them yet but I'll. Keep going guys..!!

    Actually a very informative podcast
To be completely honest, the podcast has tons of quality information and is a great resource to have. I just don't like how they ask for 5 star ratings all the time, however, they've pretty much stopped asking in the later episodes, which is good because it allows the great content to really come through.

Better Way To Think About Fitness
I really enjoy these podcasts. They seem to address many of my bad fitness assumptions. I have focused on reps and have usually had too many goals at once. These podcasts along with GMB products and Posse have helped my finally find the path to fitness as fun and focus. It’s about time at 55 - LOL Keep up the great work all around!

    Made me a believer.
Before purchasing anything from GMB I listened to the first few podcasts. I've still got a way to go before I'm all caught up, but it's no nonsense and fun. I have now purchased the Level 1 bundle and become a member of the Alpha Posse to better increase my skillset. It also provides the most basic and comprehensive way to start doing gymnast style training out there.

These guys make fitness fun. They're great at teaching people how to move well and be strong. Whether you're a newbie or a seasoned aficionado... give a listen and you'll learn effective ways to improve your fitness. I've participated in and highly recommend GMB programs. Good stuff right here!!
This podcast is way funny and very entertaiining. It also exposes you to a wide variety of fitness and movement advice, sources, and more in depth information on the GMB method of skill based fitness. Definitely great for the fitness enthusiast who goes against the grain and does not buy into the arrogant, gym rat attitude.
