Wonderfully composed. Good for anyone who loves math.

    Audio editing nightmare
Listened to the 6 handshakes episode, the audio editing was so terrible it was unlistenable - long stretches of silence, phrases stitched together forming incoherent statements, overlapping voices... won’t be listening to any more.

    It's a podcast!
There aren't a plethora of mathematics podcasts, but this one certainly is good. I would appreciate it if there were more technical expositions available. I would like to be able to listen to the experts freely speak of techniques that they use, however, this seldom happens. On the whole it's a good podcast for general audiences.

Great Podcast, Thanks so much Samuel! Also check out The Other Half! Favorite Equation: e^{pi x i} = -1

    The True Final Frontier
When a child goes through school, their exposure to math as field is, in actuality, is incredibly small, and, unfortunately, many grow up believing that is all math is. Relatively Prime seeks to change that. From understanding the 4th dimension to the creation of art through math, or more aptly how math *is* art, Relatively Prime brings the viewer on a guided tour through the unknown and unimaginable.

    Fun and informative
Really nice to listen to while soldering/taking care of menial work. Find it interesting and well produced. Worth a listen!

The podcast I was looking for!
As a math major, I've been trying to find a podcast about math that isn't about teaching math. Favorite equation is lim of (1 + 1/n)^n as n -> infinity

    An original and thought-provoking podcast
Great podcast that brings amazing people from the math world to the surface for facinating conversations. So excited to have this podcast back after its hiatus!

This is one of the very best math and science podcasts.
This is a wonderful place to come to in order to learn more about math, science, and do it in a way that's fun.

    Fun and interesting
Math is everywhere in the world. This podcast helps bring attention to those fields when we take math for granted. Awesome show.

    Awesome!
    Informative and entertaining

    New viewpoints on math
All the stories are very different. They can by turn be fun, politically important, or absolutely riveting (listen to Chinook—just do it). Great stuff

    Really quite refreshing!

    Mathcast for Everyone
Sam does a great job of telling Math-related stories in a way that makes you feel like you can hang, even if you haven’t done any math since high school. It’s a smart show that entertains and informs and I defy anyone to listen to an ep and then try to make the argument that math isn’t interesting!

    Great Mathy Podcast
A great Math podcast about a variety of topics.

    Smart and accessible
Math isn’t exactly my personal strong suit, but I think its important to not be afraid of math, its science and worth paying attention to it. Samuel creates a good balance, making mathematics accessible, without underestimating his audience and adds a nice dash of humor.

    Storytelling meets mathematics
Samuel Hansen is not just a mathematician. He’s not just a great podcast host. He’s a talented storyteller with a great nose for finding the interesting, HUMAN side of mathematics that most people rarely get the chance to see. Relatively Prime is great listening, and the math side of things just makes it even better.

    Worth your time
I was consistently impressed by the last season of this show. I particularly liked the episode about "solving" the game of checkers. Just a really great set of interviews and subjects, presented so that you don't have to be a math expert to understand. Excited about the new episodes!

Who knew math was this fascinating?
Sam explores mathematical stories that aim to be simultaneously fun and captivating. As someone who was glad to see the backside of mathematical academia upon graduating, I was skeptical diving into Relatively Prime. The sometimes tongue-in-cheek narrative is balanced well with facts and interviews with vetted experts, and it's almost like jazz in the way it walks the line between playful and masterful.

Season 1 was great - really looking forward to season 2!
Fascinating stories from the realm of mathematics, reminiscent of Radiolab at its best!

    Great, great podcast.
This is a great podcast series. Its an awesome combination of interesting (and accessible) math, as well as truly interesting war stories from the front lines of applying math to fascinating real world problems.I love it! I just supported it with $50 on Kickstarter.

    Making math accessible
I was looking for a podcast about mathematics along the lines of Radiolab, and this fits the bill. Good math based stories that keep you interested but are not so technical that they leave you dizzy. The stories have led me to research a number of topics after being introduced to them on Relatively Prime. The episode about Chinook is particularly good.

    Absolutely love this!
I actually like this podcast more than radiolab, I always wished radiolab would talk more about math and this was a god-send. I recommend this to anyone who is curious about math. I hope he gets enough donations to start this podcast up again! I would if I could but I can't.
  • RevoTeeKay
    Sadly boring.
I love math. I love RadioLab. So when I heard this was like a combination of the two, I was excited. How disappointing! Topics that should be fascinating become dull as experts are allowed to ramble, with no smart editing to make them cut to the chase. The background music is applied with almost no sense of context. And Samuel, the narrator, is grows irritating with his painstakingly deliberate enunciation. As much as I'd like to given the great concept, I just can't recommend this.
  • Arithmaknit
    Brilliant
Samuel does an incredible job getting to the pieces of math that should excite everyone. The material is far from boring and it keeps me coming back for more. The content is ample backstory with strong ties to the maths involved in each interview. Love it, love it, love it. I hope to hear more very soon!

    Not cheesy!
I was very pleased to find a podcast that didn't have to resort to cheesy antics. It discusses the subject seriously, yet has fun with it as well. The production quality and the quality of guests are top notch as well. I've been thoroughly pleased!
  • William Campos
    Smart
I've been exposed to more than a couple interesting ideas that I'm happy to have learn because of this podcast.

Thank you from a math student
I immediately love this podcast. It's really nice to be a math student now with podcasts, online lectures, interactive programs.. it's amazing. When real-life teachers get me down, this podcast reminds me of the things I love about math.

    Getting better with each episode.
A lot of this stuff is over my head but I love leting it fall on my eardrums. If you've feasted on RadioLab and are still hungry this is the second helping you've been craving.
  • EW314
    Super!
Thank for bringing math and the discussion to the community.

Favorite New Podcast - Very Interesting and Entertaining
Love Relatively Prime. No math knowledge required. The first episode, "The Toolbox" was so good that I have listened to it three times. Seriously. Excellent topics and great interview subjects really set Relatively Prime apart.
  • Chuck Noren
    Great Podcasts!
I love these podcasts! Listened to the first three, each very interesting. While these have a math theme, no deep mathematics is required The podcasts engage both the seasoned mathematician and the novice. I listen to these during long, boring exercise workouts -- and it makes the time go quickly.
  • Traveler-J
    Good fun
Listened today for the first time, and was really surprised with how fun and intelligent the podcasts are. Not at all stuffy or academic, they discuss ally interesting topics with a mathematical bent. Highly recommend giving it a try!

    Money well spent
I donated to the kickstarter that ended up funding this series, and I couldn't be happier that I did. This podcast is Sam at the top of his game, and it shows. Look, I don't care too much about math (or maths), but Sam's podcasts make me care. And that's an amazing thing.

It turns out math is cool after all
I have recently begun homeschooling my fourth grader. I was dreading math but, it turns out that I am enchanted. Thank you for putting out a show that inspires me to rediscover mathematical ideas in useful and quirky ways. Where we're you when I was struggling in the early grades??

Really fun interesting podcast with great interviews that give great background on a subject. Very accessible and well made.

Fascinating & Fun with Math (says a sociologist!)
This podcast is incredibly well-produced. It is easy to listen to and anyone paying attention can learn from it (no mathematical background required!). I especially liked the inquisitive, excited tone. Huge thumbs up to the latest and greatest podcast in my rotation!

    A great surprise
No really math centered person, I enjoyed this to my surprise. Audio quality is not there, but really fascinating subjects and does not bog down too much, keeps moving.
