    The ads are too obnoxious
The podcast is immersive and well-researched and amazingly detailed but the ads are so obnoxious. A real shame.

    GREAT podcast! I love it!
I’m addicted to ancient Egypt and this podcast takes you through the dynasties with so much information. His descriptions allow you to picture and almost imagine you were there. I’m so glad I found this gem. Thank you for all your hard work and time you’ve dedicated to the podcast Dominic!

    Very view new episodes
It seems the amount of episodes have considerably slowed down over the last 8 months. Not sure what the problem is however if I am to support the podcast I’d like more frequent episodes.

Excellent choice for any history fan
A great, very in-depth, narrative podcast on the extensive very ancient history of Egypt from it’s historical beginning. Also spends a good amount of time on ancient Egyptian literature, which while it of course is ancient and foreign, manages to be hauntingly familiar to a Westerner like myself. Bottom line if you like in-depth narrative historical podcasts this is a great choice. If you want something more bite-size and superficial, there are other great podcasts out there for you.

    Good history on Egypt
The narrator is easy to listen to and there’s so much history packed into each episode. I learn something new with each episode!

    Once Again, Outstanding
I’m currently listening to the episodes about King Tutankhamen. I’m always impressed with the superior job Dominic does with his research and the polished episodes. Keep up the excellent work. The only thing I find missing for this section of the history of Egypt is a clip of Steve Martin’s SNL song “King Tut”. Maybe it’s just a little too politically incorrect, or maybe it’s just way too expensive to air? Or maybe I just haven’t gotten that far in the Tutankhamen episodes yet? But I’m already in Tut’s burial part 2. I don’t know, but I think it would be funnier than the Simpson clips he sometimes adds. I guess I’m giving away my age with this review. lol Once again, thank you Dominic for engaging my mind with a fantastic podcast!!

    Exceptional Story-Telling - A Real Pleasure
This podcast is exceptionally researched and beautifully presented. Dominic is easy to listen to and his narration, although quite good from the beginning, has become more confident and companionable over the years. He finds delightful tangential topics for his special and mini-episodes. The original music is unfailingly wonderful and evocative. I like it so much that I’m binging it from the beginning. If you are at all a fan of ancient Egypt, this is more than worth your while. And if you’re not, this podcast will make you one.

    Riggs interviewed
I love this podcast with one exception the interview with Chris riggs. This person is more interested in being politically correct than anything else and it is all getting old. If the west is so awful maybe Chris would be happier spreading her tripe in a third world country. Now she is criticizing lawerence of Arabia….its a movie and a very good one. May be a very smart woman but she is also offensive.

    EXCELLENT PODCAST!!
If you are interested in Egyptian history, I highly recommend this podcast! The creator brings the Egyptian world to life using sound archeological facts and data, and deep study of Egyptological evidence. The creator is a captivating , humorous storyteller who brilliantly weaves the archaeological data into vivid illustrations of Egyptian life and history. I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish all historical podcasts were like this
I am a big history buff and visited a museum focused on Ancient Egypt and realized I only knew bits and pieces of the civilization’s history. I found this podcast by chance but I’ve gone through 5 episodes in a day! I am loving the storyline threaded through each episode, the very obvious fun Dominic has with the research and production for each episode. I have listened to other historical podcasts and I wish they all could take a similar approach! Some are too boring and lengthy or the host is not as engaging or telling a story about what they’re talking about. Happy to say Dominic has everything I’ve looked for in a historical podcaster!

    Good show
The only reason I’m not giving 5* is not because of the host himself. The show is done well. He tells when he is guessing and when it’s his opinion and gives other opinions on same subject. Very much appreciate that part. However I hate it when people bring their current politics into history. And having the guest Kara. She is supposed to be somebody who speaks about “facts” and logic. However as soon as she brought up climate change and fossil fuels. You would think these kind of people would be smart enough to see through the hoax. Obviously climate changes. Listen to how many times these history podcasts note the change in climate. I can’t take anything she says seriously after that. Skipped the rest of all interviews with her. Nothing she says after that holds any weight. I tried to email this sentiment but tried to make me get on Facebook. I don’t do social media I do real life. Keep up the good work and try not to turn off the audience with current politics of ether side. When they present their politics as fact it destroys credibility

    Wonderful History Podcast
Among, if not, the best history podcasts I’ve listened to. Host is knowledgeable, engaging, and articulate. In the spirit of History of Rome, Byzantium, et al. Overall highly recommend.

    Perfectly Balanced
Dominic is like the cool professor all the students want to have. This podcast is fascinating for any level of history nerd. He is gifted at taking dry, heavy material and making it relatable and understandable to listeners. And I appreciate his touches of humor interjected throughout. I’m a Tudor history buff but this show has me quickly becoming an ancient Egypt one, too.

    Simply wonderful
I regret that I’m catching up to the podcast and can no longer binge on it during my commutes and between meetings. I doubt that you’ll find another where the host brings not only a depth of knowledge, but the willingness to say what can be proven, what can’t be proven and give an opinion on whether they think something is a good assumption or only speculation. All while keeping an open mind that further discoveries may change even what we think we can prove today. I also would like to commend his treatment of Howard Carter and the excavation of Tutankhamen’s tomb. It’s almost unheard of nowadays for anyone to make a clear distinction between a historical figure’s professional work and the morality of the person’s actions when viewed through shifting current attitudes. Like drinking water from from a clear spring.

Thank you for making history accesible!!
Love this podcast - I’ve spent a ton of time trying to wade through history books on Egypt and, while interesting, I find they’re often overly complex and lose me as a reader. This podcast is fun and interesting and makes ancient Egyptian history accesible for listeners! Thanks a ton 🙏

I’m grateful to have stumbled upon The History of Egypt podcast earlier this year after a trip to Egypt kindled an interest in the topic. Dancing By The Nile, The Ladies Love His Style
Undertakes the daunting task of telling the history of Egypt, long before the first pyramids were conceived, and building out a picture of a living, breathing society that grew and changed as millennia passed. There's an emphasis on archaeological sites which are explored in detail paired with looks at the daily life of the average person at the time. The host also does a good job of explaining gaps in knowledge and issues with translation and conflicting discoveries.

    Captivating Stories And Incredible Presentation
Since childhood I have been fascinated by ancient Egypt. Nothing I read or watched about ancient Egypt comes close to what Dominic put together in this podcast. How he weaves thousands of years of history and archeology into one captivating human story after another is simply amazing. I always anxiously wait for him to drop his next episode after listening to one.

    Exceptionally produced podcast
The time and care taken to produce this podcast should not be overlooked. Dominic’s beautifully spoken words and extensively researched information bring ancient Egypt to life in the theater of the mind. I’ve toured the ruins of ancient Egypt and watched many documentaries on the subject. I can honestly say, this podcast is the greatest learning tool I’ve experienced thus far. I highly recommend your listening journey begin with episode one. It will give you a solid foundation as you travel forward through the subsequent episodes. This is one of the few times I’ve been compelled to write a review or contribute to a podcast Patreon page. “Best ______ ever” is an excessively used phrase in our culture today. However, in this case it is warranted. In my opinion, this is the best podcast ever.

    I love this podcast
Keep up the good work! Thanks to this podcast I endlessly curious about the lives and times of the Ancient Egyptian people. I love the balance between historic / academic detail and the fact that it manages to make such a huge subject accessible and understandable to non-academic listeners like me!

    My comfort podcast
I started listening during the pandemic just to give myself something different to focus on. Now when life gets busy I find myself missing the show. I’m thankful that Dominic decided to share his passion for ancient Egypt with the wider world. I was in archaeology undergrad, and while life has pulled me in a different direction, I’m grateful to Dominic and this podcast for helping to reacquaint me with my first love, ancient Egypt. Thank you, Dominic. May Hathor continue to shower you with favor and may you always be found True of Voice -Bethany, KY USA

    (Nearly) Unending Tale
Egypt’s ancient history is a fascinating long tale of a changing society and its culture. It’s history is so long that their religion changed the chief deity 4 or 5 times. Even the ancient Egyptians realized that their history was long. I save up episodes so I can listen to 2 to 4 at a time.
