    no problem sleeping
i’ve listened to this podcast for years now and most of the time i fall asleep in 20 minutes or less. the times i don’t fall asleep are either because i can’t relax (nothing to do with the podcast i just have trouble settling down for sleep) or i picked an episode that just doesn’t work for me so i just switch to something different. i personally have always skipped to the middle and set a timer that stops playing after time so i don’t get waken up by the next episode because the intros are a little too much for me (so i don’t have trouble with long ads at the beginning like other reviewers). i don’t care that he mentions politics at the beginning (since i skip) but i’m glad to know he supports blm :). i did take a star off because of the ads during the episode. they didn’t used to be there and if he kept the same tone from the story to the ad i probably wouldn’t notice but it’s a bit too loud in comparison. if that was fixed though and i couldn’t tell the difference between an ad and the story id give 5 stars.

    Fall asleep smiling
Quirky and delightful. Scooters silly turns of phrase and meanderings have me chuckling as my head hits the pillow. You can tell he really cares about YOU getting a good night’s sleep.

    Just perfect
I have no trouble sleeping at night; however, when the car alarms in our neighborhood go off in the middle of the night, I struggle going back to sleep. This podcast, with some white noise does the trick. Brilliant and saving humanity, on sleepy podcast at a time .

    Love sleep with me
This podcast never fails to get me passed out within 15 min. Scoots makes me feel comforted and does a really good job of setting a safe space. I was so happy to finally become a patron. He’s done so much to help me get to sleep over the last couple years, that I was happy to do it! To everyone complaining about ads, try to remember that he is doing his best to help people get to sleep, and needs money in order to continue to dedicate time to this. You rock scooter!!! Not to mention the song is always so catchy in the beginning.

    Usually like it
This works for me but last night I woke up just as it was ending having a big nightmare. I screamed myself awake. I was kind of wondering what set it off and I’m a little afraid of it. This morning I listened again to the last 30 minutes. It’s in a crawl space and a bit frightening! Update! 2nd night! I played the same episode and again I woke up screaming. I only know because my dog woke me up. She was worried shaking like a leaf. Is this some sort of healing and good for me or some sort of evil an bad for me?? I wish I could find out

    Scooter nails it!
Scoots podcast is exactly as advertised. He sends creaky, dulcet tones through the deep dark night to help you create a safe space to release your anxiety and fall asleep. I often don’t even get through the story. But..... I have the silliest, fun dreams which is a far cry better than the usual bad dreams. Thank you, Scoots. Goodnight.

Maybe not for you, but helpful nonetheless
I’ve been going to sleep with this guys voice for the better part of a year, may not be for you but if you have problems give it a try for a couple nights
    Not good for sleep
I don’t know if I just picked a wrong episode but the host spent like 12 minutes talking about ads and his patreon. Then he started rambling about other stuff that just stressed me out instead of helping me sleep.

Really helps when I am having trouble sleeping. Not for everyone though.
  • joeybaganugz
Post-intro ads have killed it for me
Did nobody think that loud, high energy ads when people have started to drift off were maybe a questionable idea?

    Cast has deteriorated
I give them a lot of credit for being a truly excellent concept. As an insomniac I’ve leaned on this podcast to help me A LOT during sleepless nights. But over the last year this has moved to almost a full half hour of advertisements before you get into the actual product (boring stories to help you fall asleep). What’s worse is that now there are intermittent ads along the way that can wake you after you fall absolute game stopper for insomniacs who struggle with sleep. Scooter, I really appreciate the work, but I cannot use or recommend this podcast anymore despite the concept being absolutely best in class. If there’s a way to shift back away from being so ad heavy I’d happily come back. But this is a must-avoid in its current state.

    I’m a fan
I read about this podcast and thought I’d give it a try since sleep has become elusive for me during COVID. I love the formula and Scooters voice is the perfect accompaniment to drift off to. Thank you, thank you for helping me to get some much needed and restorative rest ;-) I’m grateful.

    Works great for me.
This podcast is what I use every night. I have a string of episodes that play, so that when I wake up, I have something safe and happy to listen to. It's very comforting for me.

Longest ads I’ve ever listened to in podcast!!!
Was ready to quit before the show started. Unbelievable it just went on and on and on! I’m all about an artist getting their due and making their podcast sustainable but this was overkill.

Honestly can’t sleep without this podcast! Thank you for keeping me and my endless thoughts company! I use this podcast with an ocean sound machine and a humidifier to help have layers of peaceful sound. It’s absolutely perfect!

Give it more than one shot
I don’t really use it to fall asleep, but I have PTSD and anxiety it’s soothing and I appreciate the company.

How does anyone love this? Half hour more of ads and rambling

    Gets the job done
This podcast is so difficult to follow and so boring I fall right to sleep. It’s that instant sleep that you used to get when your professor would drone off about revolutionary asteroids that landed on earth between 1700 and 😴😴😴

    It’s not political
Saying BLM isn’t politics. It’s fighting for black lives that have been being oppressed for centuries. Love the podcast.

Scooter couldn’t follow a train of thought if he was chained to it and it’s so wonderfully relaxing
If you struggle with your brain but haven’t listened to to this then I think you should give it a shot. It is one of the things that has consistently brought me comfort and relaxation. Thanks Scooter

Every time I hear the greeting, I get a little teary thinking about how inclusive Scooter is (friends beyond the binary, Black lives matter, etc.). Thank you, Scooter, for making a safe space for everyone. I don’t know what I would do without your podcast!

    Grateful for this podcast
This podcast is a gift to sleepless humanity. I have learned that even when I don’t think I will like the story, just hearing Scooter’s gentleness in telling it lets me relax, smile, feel safe and unconcerned about my usual stuff that keeps me awake. And that’s all I really need. Keep up the good work, and thanks.

    Scooter is a household name
I love this podcast! It helps me go to sleep in about 10 minutes. My husband streams until late in the night and when he comes into our room and he hears this podcast...He knows I’m knocked out. I also adore the titles.

    Listening for years
Been listening to this podcast every night for the past 5 years or so. It’s so effective at distracting my brain from self defeating thoughts at bedtime. Thoughts of dread, anticipation, or problem solving. These thought normally keep me distracted for hours at night but with Scooter I’m able to listen to his boring stories and not have all those thoughts. Thanks Scoots
  • Luray78
    Thank you, thank you

    Thanks, Scoot! BLM!
Imagine being so triggered by less than one minute of someone saying that Black Lives Matter than you need to leave a one star review saying “politics ruined the podcast” - news flash: Black lives are not politics. They’re LIVES. Plus the podcast really does help me sleep. I love knowing I’m supporting a creator whose values align with mine.

    Superfluous cat comfort
My cat has learned that it’s not really bed time until he can hear Scooter’s voice. When I turn on the podcast, he cozies up next to me and then I have everything I need to feel safe and drift off...

    Here from my favorite murder
I know it’s ironic that MFM adds to reasons that I can’t sleep so at least they recommended a podcast to help battle the insomnia. Love this podcast. It’s nice to concentrate on something else so I forget my worries, but I’m not stressed about knowing the end so I can drift off into sleep. Love love love.

    Sweet Sleep at last!
I have struggled with anxiety and insomnia for years, no other sleep videos or podcasts helped for more than a week at a time. This podcast either puts me to sleep in a super natural way, as in I just doze off without realizing or if it’s just one of those nights, scoots keeps me company through what I call “resting my eyes” if I can’t nod off. Wasn’t sure about it at first but I’m really glad I gave it a chance, and thank you very much for your help. 💜💜💜💜

    Hear me out
I know what you’re thinking, because I was once in your place. You’re probably thinking why is the first 10 minutes just ads spoken in a monotone, meandering voice? Why is there now a weird song that doesn’t rhyme? Oh it’s an ad too? The first time or two may seem awkward and weird but give it a couple chances. Scoot’s soothing and calming voice will soon create a feeling of a good old friend just keeping you company in the background. I remember exactly zero of the bedtime stories because I literally fall asleep so quickly. I love following his tangents in my drowsy state, trusting Scooter to lull me to sleep by sending his voice through the deep, dark night. 10/10 recommend!

    Premium Podcast
I used to listen to this podcast a few years ago and loved it. The sponsor plugs were front-loaded to the first few minutes of the show, which I didn’t mind as I settled into bed. However, I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately due to pain, so I downloaded the latest episode last night. Boy, how it’s changed! The plug for the Patreon is nothing new, but now promises ad-free episodes. I didn’t mind the ads before... But now the sponsor plug time has increased three-fold, long enough where I started to get uncomfortable. It’s the longest sponsor plug of any other podcast I listen to. Even the new transition music is a plug! 😰 Eventually, Scooter switched into his signature rambling. I thought, “Okay, I can do this,” and I started to drift. I was snapped awake a few minutes later by Scooter yelling *another* sponsor plug. I realized I’m going to be continually punished for not subscribing to the Patreon. I had to shut it off. I just laid in bed angry for the next hour. 3 stars because at least I can listen to old episodes.

    Wholesome and Useful
I originally subscribed to Sleep with Me about a year ago after hearing it recommended on My Favorite Murder. I opened it once, thought, “I don’t know what to think of this”, and quickly shut it back off. But now, roughly a year later, I decided to give it another chance. Day 1, I really loved the inclusive nature of this podcast and decided that even if there was no way I was going to fall asleep listening to it, I would let Scoots keep me company until I was tired enough to turn on my other go-to sleep meditation podcast. Day 2, I started really enjoying the way Scoots says “Thanks everybodaaayyyy” and began dancing to the mystery bard’s song. Still didn’t fall asleep to it, but the show just continued to grow on me. Day 3, I passed out almost immediately. It’s been about a week since day 3, and I’ve been listening to the show all night long ever since. I joined the Facebook community, and to say that it’s one of the nicest and most caring groups I’ve joined would be an understatement. This podcast brings out the best in people, and I truly think it is because Scoots cares so much for each and every one of the SWM listeners. Thank you, Scoots, for not only the help falling asleep, but also the humor, smiles, and friendship before I fall asleep.

    I listen every single night
When i first listened i thought it was odd that the host didn’t have the most soothing voice -yet i passed out hardly 20 minutes in. Then again the next day. Something about the sameness of this podcast, the routine of ads and jingles brings me comfort in knowing that nothing unexpected will happen in the podcast that will draw my attention and keep me up. i fall asleep to that podcast every night and i’ve never made it to the end of an episode before falling asleep. Thanks Scoots, for saving this insomniac!
  • BishopJess
    Thank you
I am grateful for this podcast, and Scoot’s creaky dulcet tones to help me fall asleep more nights than I can count. This podcast is well worth a try for anyone struggling to sleep, ever.

    I appreciate your existence
Idk why but I fall asleep every time 😌 love your booooooooring stories........btw the newest episodes of Dr Who (Eccleston - Whittaker) are on HBO Max! Would love to hear more of those. Also David Attenborough is my hero and his animal movies are MOVING 🧐🧐 watch his ‘witness statement’ on Netflix and dare me not to change the world
  • Bluewizzarf
The voice of the narrator is very loud and not very comforting or monotone. It feels very chaotic to go to sleep to
  • virg9898
    thank you
A lovely podcast that works. I love how much the host truly cares about his listeners. Also, I love his inclusivity and mentions of BLM.
  • The Taint Burglar
    Doesn’t work for me.
I dunno just feels like grift. Feels like just ads. Not relaxing. Not amusing. Irritating. Tried 3 times and it didn’t work. Your mileage may vary.

    Worst podcast ever!
Sorry I could not take it.
  • LalaMe6
    Really gone downhill
This used be a great podcast. Always enjoyed scooter, he put me to sleep & many times he was so funny, at times even brilliant stream of consciousness. Now more than half is just a rehash of the same & on & on about his sponsors. I accept sponsors pay the bills but then cut back on the repetitive intro & annoying always the same horrible music portion. Bring back Nuns in Space.

I love this podcast soooooo much
I love the podcast I love your voice I fall asleep in the middle of it. Also question on my podcast app it says that episodes are explicit are they actually?

I’m convinced this guy is an absolute genius. How else could he talk about about nothing for over an hour multiple times a week? Incredible. I have so much trouble falling asleep. I’ve tried everything. I’ve tried other podcasts, meditations, soothing sounds... nothing worked. For two nights in a row I’ve fallen asleep before this podcast it’s over. I can’t explain how happy I am. The host says it takes a couple tries, but from the first time I listened this worked for me. I now believe in miracles, it’s been over a year since I’ve been able to fall asleep I under 2 hours. Can’t thank this guy enough. Also I saw some reviews talking about how annoying the ads are and I don’t get it? You don’t even think it’s an ad, they blend seamlessly into the podcast, it’s part of it and in no way annoying. Maybe you’ll even fall asleep during the ads! Anyway while this might not work for everyone it definitely works for me and I wish I could give this 1,000 stars.

This podcast works like a charm. Me and my younger brother fight over my phone just for this podcast (in a good way). Also can we get an Otter Things Bernie the Butterfly cross over?

I can’t thank you enough for what you’ve done for me at night. For some reason my mind shuts off when you speak. You are truly gifted at what you do. I enjoy your childlike sense of humor & look forward to every episode. You’ve been helping me sleep for years now. When all else fails I run to your show. Thank you so so much.
