XJHHJXExcellent podcast for freelance designersAs a freelance graphic designer who started straight out of design school, I’m very grateful for your podcast! For the past eight years I’ve been freelancing and haven’t dedicated much time to continuing education, but I’m slowly changing that. Your podcast has been teaching me new things and helping me refine my process. Thank you for taking time to share your knowledge!

AricDEpisode 106: Best YetI just want to thank you Ian and Arjun for being so candid on this episode with how you have coped with anxiety, self-doubt and imposter syndrome. I myself struggle wit these issues on a daily basis with projects. Am I good enough? Does my work look professional? Is the client going to like it? Am I communicating their message correctly? Does this look to much like another logo that I’ve seen somewhere else? These questions and more come into my thoughts on almost every project, and more often than not, my clients love the work I present them. Yet every project those same questions keep popping back in my head. I love your openness to therapy and building confidence through your podcast. It has helped me on so many levels and I have listened to almost every one. I do, for the most part, work in a bubble. Perhaps I will start bringing other designers and like-minded individuals into my fold to help me gain more confidence in my work and help advise me on how I can push the projects further. Once again, thank you so much for this episode.

Unit B CreativeGo-to drive timeIan’s podcast has become my go-to listen in the car. Colleen Gratzer (ep 73) sums it up: graphic design isn’t art, it’s solving a business problem. From creative to business operations, Logo Geek covers it all. And it’s not simply Q-A, Q-A—Ian gives the interviews room to breathe, getting the best from his guests who are able to get their points across! Worth every minute.

smART mindsTop notch podcast with valuable infoIan recruits the best guests and asked important questions. A personal favorite episode of mine was with the trademark attorney-not something you'd expect on a logo podcast but nonetheless of immense value. It's that type of thinking that keeps this podcast fresh, interesting and informative.

anna4213Great listen for designers of all experience levelsI love this podcast! I’m a professional graphic designer with a BFA in Graphic Design and 8 years of professional experience and I come away with a new insight, lesson, or tip after every episode. Ian covers the bases from school learned basics (which every good designer needs an occasional reminder of) to more complicated matters faced in every practicing designer’s daily real world. It's great to get inside the brains, processes, and insights of truly accomplished designers and realize we are all in the same boat navigating the application of design in today’s world!

He does it in a very humble and clear approach. Sometimes I pause the audio just to take notes for my next meeting. I love to listen to the designers stories, their niche and their advices. It makes you feel less alone in this entrepreneurial journey.

Mr. SillyValuable to anyone in the field of logo/brand designI thoroughly enjoy this podcast and am a regular listener from episode to episode. As a graphic designer of several years continually looking to improve my approach and education regarding logo design and branding, this podcast has been a wealth of information. So many guests have offered great insight even into the details of their process, their styles of delivery, approaches to gaining new business, etc — very practical & applicable bits of knowledge, not philosophical of theoretical musings. And the interviews not only provide great professional tips, they also offer great insights into the personality and character of the guest. I find that getting to see the “human” side of the guest brings so much more value to their wisdom — it makes it feel more like a chat with a mentor than a textbook lesson. I look forward to the future of this podcast and the great guest interviews to come.

SamPorter418A Quick Note on Ian Paget and Logo GeekThis will be brief. I have thus far listened to four of the episodes of Logo Geek. Ian has helped me learn so much, and it’s cool that he is able to talk to so many industry leaders. You will not regret listening to this podcast.

delihumsHighly RecommendedThis podcast is amazing for several reasons. First of all, each interview provides answers to probing questions designers have about logo design, branding, and even marketing their freelance business. Second, the podcast features insights from top designers around the world, which is amazing having access to their expertise. Lastly, Ian the host is a true expert himself and has a clear passion for logo design and many accolades. I can't recommend this podcast enough to anyone looking to grow as a designer.

DanielBoone84Real life design Podcast, from a real life designerI'm always on the prowl for a good design podcast. I've been listening to all kinds of podcasts for a very long time, on all kinds of topics, and I feel like the design worlds ability to make a big spalsh has been a slow build. There is definitely other good design podcasts out there now, but what I love about Ian and Logo Geek is that he makes design and the pursuit of a career in design seem very human. What I mean is, Ian is in the same boat many of us are in, especially myself, which is trying to find a way to make this a career while navigating the necessary struggle of just starting out, and he has a way of bringing that human nature out of his guests. Bravo Ian ... Definitely highly recommend this podcast.
-
BigRenoskiPerfect podcast for all logo geeksIan quickly established his podcast as essential listening for designers, landing multiple heavy hitters in the first season. What I enjoy is that he tends to focus more on process than most other podcasts, which seem to lean more on personality and background. For example, Aaron Draplin has a larger than life personality and so many great stories. Ian steered much of the conversation toward Draplin’s actual design process, which I don’t feel we’ve gotten enough of in other interviews. This focus makes Logo Geek very insightful and useful for designers of any level.
-
Lopezt7Great contentIt's inspiring having to listen to Ian and his hosts discuss their professions. A lot to learn about design and the business of design. Very well done!
-
Dana Craft DesignExcellent PodcastThe questions Ian poses help direct the podcast conversations in such a way that graphic designers of all walks of life can glean highly useful information. Hearing about how the designers started out and what they did to become who they are today has been entertaining as well as educational. This podcast is jam-packed full of tips and resources. A true embarassment of riches for any freelancing professional trying to make their way though this world.
-
theryanrobinsonFilling a much-needed voidLoving what I'm hearing out of the first few guests on this show. One of the things that isn't talked about enough in the world of logo design specifically, is how to price yourself above the "Fiverr" designers of the world and make more than $5 a pop doing logo designs. Ian's done a great job of bringing on guests who've built careers out of creating high-quality branding and logo assets for major brands from around the world—and the best part is that everyone's experience so far has been really relatable. Great advice and actionable strategies. Pumped to hear more!

JLSARMSo Far, So GoodI'm familiar with the Logo Geek blog and was happy to hear about the podcast. So far the guests (Chris and David) have provided some valuable information. My only critique would be the lack of flow during conversation (or Q&A rather). I noticed sometimes it'll seem as though either the guest or host was awkwardly at a lost for words. I didn't notice this very much with the Chris Do podcast, Chris seems to carry a conversation very well. But even with a guest who doesn't know how to carry a conversation or who isn't as talkative, the host seems to shy away from taking that lead. Resulting in some awkward gaps of silence.
