Evan PhamInconsistent: Stale interviews and poor audio qualityGiven the caliber of guests and friends of the show… it’s kind of embarrassing. I’m tired of cranking my volume to max just to make out what folks are saying. This should be appointment listening, given the selection of pods available — but unfortunately due to the inconsistency, now I rely on the name talent to sway me to tune in. Rather than just randomly coming across a great conversations like I did with my first tune in, with Andrew Garfield and Josh’s sharing on loss. Also I’m sorry if it’s just me, but the interview questions are getting more and more softball. And the recurring segment of lightning round questions need to be shorter and refreshed. Seems like a struggle for Josh and the guests as of late... Not fun to listen to whatsoever so I can’t imagine going through live.

A Hungry ChildGreatGreat! Could you do Timothee chalamet pt 2?
-
losethethreadCouldn’t get through bad audioI was really excited to start this podcast but I tried to different, recent episodes where audio was inaudible and had to stop. So disappointed.
-
MSL1973You need better equipmentThe guests are great as are the interviews but the episodes I’ve listened to have the worst audio of any podcast I listen to.
-
Nate from CTLove seeing your beautiful face Josh😀Watching this was the only thing that was missing
-
kylormeltonthe host blows.the guests are legendary but the host blows. his questions feel so basic and he’s talking more about himself then an exploring of the minds of these talented artists and their journey.

tirshtainMore watchalongs please!Watchalong is exactly what I was looking for all this time! Make a weekly! Love it!

Difab4Audio QualityHello tried for first time with Nolan Pt 3. Audio dynamic range too wide, from unintelligible to loud. Not suitable for car listening. Tell your audio engineers to compress/limit the tracks to bring them up to a more uniform level. Thank you

littlebird1983Trump Trump TrumpWhy…why does everyone in Hollywood blame everything on Trump?! I don’t like the guy either but can we figure out how to tell a story or do an interview without bringing him up? It’s like he’s a character people depend on… surely creatives can Create something or someone else to talk about. Aside from that, phenomenal podcast. I’m here for the art, that’s the platform, im not here for anyone’s personal politics. That’s a different podcast, different platform. Newsflash, though all the guests may be democrats, I assure you your listeners are split. That should be welcomed, just as valued, we’re not defined by a color black white red blue, we’re all remarkable human beings. Make room for us all.

jgrass76Great show! The preamble at the beginning of each episode can tend to go a bit too long, but still always engaging and entertaining interviews
-
micromobileLoveOne of my favorite podcasts ever
-
LppCoGreat PodcastThis podcast was not on my radar until the Marc Maron interview, when I became an instant fan. So glad I found it. Now I’m hooked!!
-
BWDeluxeThe Theodore Roosevelt of Podcast InnovatorsThe dulcet tones of Josh Horowitz’s voice occupy a special spot between my ears with Marc Maron, Terry Gross and Ira Glass. His deep knowledge, provocative questions and profoundly absurd humor place him alongside this Mount Rushmore of Podcast Innovators. A must!

Nls123Besties!!!Josh I want to be your best friend! You always make me feel like I am best friends with you and whoever your guest is. So intimate and fun and makes me want more. Loved these interviews most. 1. Sam Heughan 2. Ralph Macchio 3. Brett Goldstein Thanks!

PodFanTiffGreat podcast with great interviewsI really enjoy Josh’s interviews, he is a fan who does his research and makes each individual interview his own.

Dr. Pigbert, PHDBest Interviewer in the IndustryPretty much whenever you see a big movie-related headline in the news, you can bet that it came from Josh’s Happy Sad Confused interview. He asks all the questions you could ever want an interviewer to ask, which invariably makes it a very satisfying listen. Even if Josh is interviewing someone you may not know or be super interested in, the conversation is always fascinating and worth checking out. Could not recommend Happy Sad Confused more!!
-
genxginaJosh always has the best guests!I really enjoy listening to your podcast. Happy Sad Confused is my favourite podcast. From the moment I hear Daisy say, “Prepare your ears, humans,” I feel excited and know I’m in for another treat! I listen every week when I’m cleaning and doing my laundry and sometimes at night if I can’t sleep or my eyes are too tired to read or stream a series. Love your guests, especially recurring ones. So happy to hear Brett Goldstein. Ted Lasso is a phenomenal comedic and heartwarming show. Thanks again! Keep up the good work and here’s to a great new year of Happy Sad Confused!

nanner410Josh is the BOSSJosh has connections all over the entertainment world and has the best guests on his podcast. Josh is a great interviewer who asks thoughtful, non ‘run of the mill’ questions that are high in entertainment value. Thanks for the content Josh!

Foodiesnob2014Wonderful interviewerIt’s so fun to listen to the conversations the guest have with Josh Horowitz—he comes to the table well-prepared and knowing his stuff, but remains relaxed and normal when engaging his accomplished guests. They are disarmed and the result is that we get to listen in on an unguarded conversation, and bear witness to an easy, friendly chat: highly unusual to see in today’s society, when stars are often heavily “spun” by PR agents, interviews edited to be sensational or trite or overly promotional, etc. Josh is the opposite. Honest, casual, smart.
-
Rochalita5Intelligent, respectful, and human, with the perfect balance of depth and funJosh is a true professional who really knows his stuff when it comes to the movie-making world, and his personal connection with many of the actors and filmmakers he interviews makes for a relaxed but focused atmosphere where people open up not only about their careers but their lives and humanity as well. Josh is great at asking intelligent, thoughtful questions that go so much deeper than the typical interview questions actors and filmmakers usually answer, and it leads to some really beautiful insights and stories that get to the heart of these interesting people’s lives. It’s clear that Josh’s enthusiasm in these interviews comes from a genuine place of love and passion for the filmmaking world, and the contagious energy he brings makes for a truly enjoyable and comfortable place to spend an hour of my day.
-
rkbrown24Stop Saying Spirit AnimalJosh, stop saying that Michael Shannon is your spirit animal. It’s cultural misappropriation unless you are American Indian/Indigenous American. Listening to you fanboy over everybody that you interview is enough. But that faux. pas is unacceptable.
-
lc250w82Best actor podcastWithout a doubt. Josh is an absolutely awesome interviewer. Really smart questions and the guests often remark on it and feel his care and genuine love of film and acting.
-
LibbyloooliooloCould have more ladiesNoticing a disparity between male and female guests. Not sure the cause, but would love to hear from more diverse actors.
-
ericel castro arismendyI love it, but I really needI love your podcast but you really need to have Florence Pugh as a guest

mcsilver99AspirationsHow do I become Josh when I grow up?!
-
Barry Bro 55Do betterI enjoy the interviews and applaud the thoughtful style, but am appalled at the uneven representation between sexes. About 7;1! Women comprise 50* % of the world—give them equal playing time. It’s boring to hear from so many men being interviewed by a man—you’re only catering to one segment of the listening population—mix it up (and you’ll have more listeners)!

shinkaI39Great show!!I started listening to this podcast as a big Tom Huddleston fan, but now listening as a pure fan of the show. Josh is honest and respectful, and have good sense of humor and I like to feel that the interviewee is enjoying their conversation very much, as Josh has done good amount of homework and asks good questions. I also listen to this as brushing up my English. The conversation is interesting and real, which makes me want to be able to talk English better.
-
Rra89Love itMy absolute favorite podcast. Josh is the best interviewer and interviews some of my all time favorite actors. I’ve even started getting into film and theater just for the sake of the art, beyond the entertainment aspect, due to some of the conversations in this podcast. It’s even a motivation tool because I only let myself listen when I’m doing chores lol (#lifehack)
-
At55This is GreatLove to see what you’re doing here. Keep going!
-
knischolLove this! One of my favorite movie podcasts. You can tell how much Josh loves movies and really creates an intimate space for his guests. It kinda feels like you are just hanging out with these people, which I think is the best type of podcast. My only tiny nit would be for Josh to not over explain his questions, it undersells him and the guests and some times the guests end up misinterpreting the question.
-
therealhalfbloodprinceLove this Podcast! You’ve had Daniel Radcliffe, you’ve had Rupert Grint, now PLEASE have Emma Watson!!!! P.S David Yates would be amazing too!
-
FJNINJAMy favorite new podcastLots of great interviews
-
Nitwit who bought a fitbitNo Politics!!!A good podcast with interesting interviewees becomes annoying to listen to when the host feels the need to make totally unnecessary political comments that add absolutely nothing. Keep it to yourself please.

badger3452Political BSLove the podcast josh but can you keep your political views to yourself. I mean I still listen but I can’t stand you talking about your political Biden views. Therefore I kindly ask you not to talk about what may be the end of the world with Biden if trump loses legal battle he has to win even if you can’t see that and probably won’t. Other than that excellent pod.

JavaAmeH.S.C. Addict!Seriously becoming addicted to Happy Sad Confused. Josh Horowitz is an engaging, knowledgeable, entertaining host who respects and enjoys his guests and what they do; he manages to bring out the best in them and they clearly enjoy sharing with him - which really makes for interesting, laugh-out-loud listens! Thank you!
-
SquittleWhy is there reverb on this podcast?Every episode sounds like they’re in a cave, who thought that would be a good idea? Good show but podcast engineers, leave your reverb and delay at home for when you’re making music
