Drive and Dish NBA Podcast

215

Welcome to the Drive & Dish NBA Podcast, hosted by Kevin Rafuse (@rafusetolose) & Justin Cousart (@JustinContheAir). We started back in 2014 as a way to discuss our favorite league like we would whenever we hung out outside of work. Two cities, and a couple of radio jobs later, here we are. We strive to give you the best in everything NBA both on and off the court on a weekly basis and keep it light and fun, the way basketball is supposed to be. Honestly, which league is more fun than the NBA right now? Our goal is to make you feel like you’re sitting on the couch, at the barbershop, or at a barstool with us. We cover the league year-round from opening night in October, all the way through the NBA Finals in June. If that’s not enough, we keep going in the summer for the NBA draft, NBA summer league & free agency. Segments include Who’s Ballin, Who’s Fallin, our NBA version of the stock market where we tell you what’s trending up, and what’s trending down each week. We’ve also got Hot Takes from Reddit, where we bring you the spiciest and most comical takes from NBA Reddit each week. You also will hear the best in NBA guests throughout the season and all summer long. Like we said earlier though, the show is all about fun, because if you’re not having fun, why do something right

    Left and I’m Back Again
Hey guys, I used to listen to you guys religiously but fell off due to life happenings. I was surprised to come back and see that it’s just the two of you now, so I listened to the last episode of the trio before jumping ahead to the playoffs and then catching up until now. Y’all haven’t lost a beat, keep it going and hope y’all have a good new year

    This stinks
Started off the latest podcast comparing Anthony Edwards to Klay Thompson. They were not tongue in cheek about it

Great consistent podcast for NBA talk
One of my favorite NBA podcasts; great minds out here from Kevin and Justin! Congrats on Episode 100 guys

    Better banter than Enes Kanter
I’ve been listening and interacting with Drive and Dish for about as many podcasts as games Nurkic has missed to injury, so a couple seasons worth. They provide the perfect distribution of news, opinion segments and quality general banter and have easily been my go to podcast for all long walks, drives and when I do the dishes (bad pun intended). I hated the day Kev somehow officially and undoubtedly anointed lebron the goat and ignored 2 decades that he was alive in of absolute dominance by one man (if the actual goat is even human), but if hot takes weren’t a thing, sports would be as interesting as high school calculus. Thanks for the frequent updates and for being the best versions of yourselves. Happy new year and just so they’re mentioned in an episode after they’re irrelevant, go hornets! Devote Graham MIP!

    REVIEW 200!!!!!
Long-time listener of the show. I’m a diehard Celtics fan first, though I’m really a fan of all things NBA, on court & off. This podcast strikes the balance between serious stat-driven show, & enjoyable/relatable banter VERY well. The ONLY knock against them—sometimes the banter can go a little long (I’m lookin’ at you, last episode with the actual podcast starting 18 minutes into the recording lolol). Overall, one of the best NBA podcasts out there. Definitely a must-listen for both the casual fan, & the more devoted fan looking for legitimate NBA talk. #ballin #notfallin

    Best
The best nba pod I’ve ever heard
  • Expendable Crewman
    Fun, but ill-informed
Entertaining pod, but I don’t think these guys know enough about the league as a whole to speak on every team. Even casual fans will catch frequent mispronunciations and outdated narratives.

    Great show, 10/10 would recommend
I've left a review before, but I wanted to help get you guys to 200 because you deserve it. This show is definitely a must listen for everyone, casual and serious basketball fans alike. The anaysis is excellent, both insightful and entertaining, which is hard to do. The chemistry Kevin and Justin have is incredible. I would listen to them talk about pretty much anything. Big fan, keep up the good work!

    Great NBA Podcast
I don't use itunes, but stitcher doesn't have reviews so I jumped in to give my feedback. This is my one of my favorite NBA podcasts. Guys are down-to-earth but also knowledgable. They are sixer homers but they admit it; it doens't seem to affect their analysis. I wish they could increase the frequency, but they have day jobs so I understand. I hope this pod keeps going. BTW, their day jobs help them to be smooth and professional-sounding, which is important to me. I've ditched good-content podcasts because the delivery was bad. You get everything with this one.

    Too much small talk
Guys. Think you have good insights. Love that you have a pod reacting to a Friday night game on Saturday. That’s why I’m listening. But… Way too much small talk to start off. You seem like interesting people with interesting lives, but I am listening to hear you talk basketball. Please save the Smalltalk for the end of the show.

Terrific podcast, definitely give it a chance
I love Kevin and Justin, it feels like I’m just chatting about basketball with my buds. I have been meaning to write a review for awhile but med school has kept me pretty busy. Anyways, they’re perfect for me as someone who is somewhere between a casual fan and a die hard stat cruncher. I listen to the Ringer as well, and sometimes Lowe Post and Dunked On, and I think Kevin and Justin offer great, fresh perspectives I don’t get from the bigger pods. Keep up the good work!

Strong, independent podcast. Has maintained a spot in my NBA rotation for over two years. Takes are solid, definitely worth a listen.

Can’t go wrong with this podcast...
Fantastic NBA podcast! Two Sixers fans who don’t act like homers - they cover the whole league like pros. Great insights & enjoyable discussions. Give it a listen, folks - you’ll be happy you did.
  • Steel City Celtic
    Yes, do listen to this!
I love the laid back vibe these guys have. There content is valuable and their chemistry is awesome. They consistently delver a great podcast and they do a great job during the offseason too. Even though they go a little heavy on their favorite team the 76ers sometimes, they spread the love and represent the entire legue.

    Best nba podcast
Suns fan who started listening because of Tim Tompkins. Even after he left this is still the best national podcast out there. Great chemistry even when I don’t agree with opinions I am always entertained.

Great NBA podcast covering all aspects of the best league in professional sports. The three hosts often have differing views which leads to some good NBA debates. Hot takes are welcome.

    High quality basketball talk
I am a rookie NBA fan, only becoming a full time fan in 2015. It was extremely easy for me to immerse myself into the world of the NBA with a high quality podcast like this one. The hosts are knowledgeable and entertaining. This is a great show for rookies.

The Glue Guys of Basketball Podcasts
Tim, Kevin and Justin are the glue guys of NBA podcasts. These guys contribute to the podcast world like your Draymond Greens or Joe Ingles. They provide the chemistry, passion for the game and comedic relief when needed. When it comes down to it, glue guys are all about making each other better and winning and that's why this podcast is a WINNER 🏆. Keep it up guys and remember that the glue guys almost always get that 💰.

    A MUST listen NBA podcast...
Big fan of all 3 hosts of the Drive and Dish Podcast. They have good opinions and up to date insight for both the casual and hardcore NBA fan. Great mix of NBA/Comedy/Chemistry. They always deliver a great episode like Stockton to Malone - Thank You!

Love the guys. All total pros and totally funny.

    Very good podcast
Started listening at beginning of season. These guys love the sport & that comes through in the podcast. Knowledgeable but not arrogant about it. An excellent listen for all.
  • Twolve
    Terrible
Don't waste your time with these three. I would be shocked if any of them actually watched the NBA at all. They far far to often pronounce players names incorrectly, there ideas seam to be un-original, and there is absolutely no chemistry between the hosts themselves. I apologize for being so harsh for whatever reason it seems as though someone has made all of you believe that you all have a future in this industry. I am no gatekeeper myself however as a consumer I can tell you gentlemen you should all give up. Do it for all the children out there who deserve proper basketball news and analysis done by trained professionals of the industry not whoever these three gentlemen are. As if you needed anymore reason to not listen the guy is wearing a minions t-shirt!?!? A grown man wearing a minions t-shirt come on people that should have been your first deterrent!

    Good stuff
Casual but intelligent commentary just generally good stuff.

    Ball is life
My favorite NBA pod. Kevin is a funnier version than Seth Rogan. Justin is the younger brother you always have to hear his opinion. Tim is very moody, kind of like Sybil, you never know who you're going to get. They all know what their talking about. Subscribe to this or you'll regret it.
  • ClutchHutch
    A1 NBA podcast!
I've known Tim since November of last year, discovering his work on NBA twitter. Since joining the 16 Wins A Ring network, I've been able to listen to the podcast more consistently. I love the production job and the general rapport between the hosts. Keep it up boys! - Austin Hutchinson
