Tiffany teaches you to love your voice - and that’s the holy grail!
I’ve studied with many voice teachers, but NONE of them have placed the emphasis on finding your unique voice - and loving it! - as much as Tiffany. At first, I was reluctant to listen to her because I had a LONG list of things I wanted to improve. In working with Tiffany one-on-one as well as listening to her podcast, I know that she DOES respect our li’l negative-Nancy lists, and she has definitely helped me with all my “problem areas.” 😀 BUT… what she has done most is help me find MY unique gifts as a singer. She has fully encouraged my love of both classical and hard rock singing, and together we have created me to be a “ropera” singer (her term)! I couldn’t be more thrilled! And while I still have a little way still to go in loving my voice unconditionally, Tiffany’s advice both on this podcast and in voice lessons always reminds me to begin with self-appreciation. Because of her mentorship, I have come to trust myself more and more as a singer, and there is nothing better than performing with that kind of confidence! Thank you, Tiffany!

A great path to begin and Improve singing
I listened to all episodes of this podcast over about a year and in the end decided to reach out to Tiffany to help me start singing to accompany my guitar playing. The Green Room lessons were exactly what I needed to get the basic technical knowledge and confidence to discover my voice.

    No voice warm-ups?
Every single YouTube video, every single instructor, and any person in the singing career will tell you that you simply MUST do vocal warm ups (many people say at least 15 minutes or longer), and I notice that in the intro to this podcast - at least in Episode 289: 4 More Easy Tips To Sing Better and Release Tension - the hostess says “… without any vocal warm-ups …”. If you try to sing without warming your voice up, it can cause PERMANENT damage, and leave you with a scratchy voice - even if you only sing along with your favorite songs in the car on your daily commute! I am not saying that anything the hostess says is wrong in any way, or that I am an expert on singing - I have just started listening to this podcast in hopes to get tips to help expand my vocal range - but if you want to sing, it is highly advisable that you warm your voice up with simple siren warm-ups, scales, or any other tried and true vocal warm up technique. This is simply safety advice, and it is possible you can sing without first warming your voice up, but in that way, you can cause more damage to your voice than you are able to: A) Expand vocal range, B) Sing clearer, and/or C) Improve vocal quality; and may even cause, as aforementioned, permanent damage to your voice.

    Wow
This podcast is everything I’ve kind of wondered about but didn’t really know how to ask about when it comes to singing. I came across it at just the right time and it has been so helpful in redirecting my efforts toward a way of being and practicing that has already helped me get better. It’s short enough to not be overwhelming and Tiffany is awesome!!

    More warm ups, less talk
I would love if she would just do more full warm ups and cool downs instead of talking so much.

    A SMART Interviewer.
I've done my fair shar of interviews and what made Tiffany unique is that she wasn't afraid to ask tough questions. She didn't make it a cake walk for me which I appreciate. This helped make the interview more interesting and productive. Thanks for the nice opportunity Tiffany! Robert Lunte

    Very Helpful
Ms. Boxtel's voice lessons are very helpful for people who are just starting out and trying to find their voice. (I can see these lessons being good for any level of singer, but as a beginner, I can definitely say they are helpful for my level). Ms. Boxtel is easy to follow, she goes at a reasonable pace, and she is very encouraging at each step. Her book about the lies that prevent people from singing is also a very helpful tool in overcoming one's fears and trepidation in singing. In short, Ms. Boxtel's lessons are a real gift, and I recommend them highly.

    Highly recommended
If you want to improve your singing, check out this podcast. Tiffany VanBoxtel will help you get better. As a drummer who sings "by default" (in other words, because the other guys in the band don't want to), I wanted to learn to improve my range and my breathing. Simply put, Tiffany's exercises work. I listen to and practice these exercises as I drive to work and they do make a difference. Maybe the biggest benefit is in how my confidence has improved as I sing. I highly recommend this podcast and look forward to future programs.
