ScuttlePuck NHL Hockey Podcast

45

In the ScuttlePuck NHL Hockey Podcast, irreverent Hockey Outsiders Mike Bonn and Dale Hoard give their less than expert opinions on all things hockey. Whether it's the National Hockey League, the International Ice Hockey Federation, Canadian Hockey League, NCAA or Minor Hockey, we give our take, from a fan's perspective. We focus mainly on NHL events and discussions but if there is a good hockey story to be told, we're on it!

    Great podcast
This is good talk show and some hockey though in great voice Seems like a very kind people you would love to sit down and just talk hockey about for hours. Might need new mic upgrades but still sounds fine. Overall really good podcast

    Highly entertaining, superb production value
As a non-traditional hockey market fan, I can’t tell ya how much I enjoy this show—it’s like visiting with two Canadian buddies and listening to them banter for about an hour. Mike and Dale are well informed (mostly) and bring a great fan perspective to current hockey events. I also enjoy their reflections on the role of hockey in Canadian life and culture (they don’t make a point of doing this, just kinda comes out along the way). Drinking Game Rules- 1 sip- Mike saying “as an Oilers fan...” 2 sips- Dale saying “anyways...” as a transition phrase (a la Doug McLean). 5 sips- either of the guys giggling when they use the Roadmaster to edit sound effects/jingles into the show. Finish your drink- when Dale mentions the “summer of 50”/Labatt 50. (Probably gotta listen to some back episodes.) Keep up the good work guys, appreciate what you do!

    Great hockey podcast
New to the cast, definitely gonna keep listening. Honest, funny, informative, and I love the Canadian accents. Mite hockey dad to an avid 8yo Capitals fan/5yo Dallas and Vegas fan, 3yo future MMA fighter, in Connecticut by way of Long Island.

    Must Listen
I've been listening to ScuttlePuck for awhile now and it's great. I'm not an oilers fan, but the insider info Mike has on them, I'm becoming a fan. Dale's rathole is great - I think I know what he's going to talk about but then he uncovers so much more that I never knew. If you want to get into hockey, this is a good podcast to start with - it's like sitting at the bar and talking about hockey all the time.

    Scuttlepuck Podcast
Probably the best hockey podcast on the internet. Straight forward, informative and non biased. Deep coverage on NHL news and standings with ole time hockey stories thrown in from time to time. Just fabulous!

    Excited for each episode
I love this podcast. It’s a great place to hear about hockey and what going on around the league. And recently they have been giving a piece of hockey history you would normally never hear about.

    Nice show
This podcast makes me feel like I'm sitting around drinking beers and talking hockey, with friends that know more about it than I do.

    Scuttle Puck review
This podcast is billed as a two-man show (Mike and Pete) but what you get essentially is Mike's efforts to provide hockey insights and analysis with attempts to engage Pete that generally fall flat or evolve pointlessly. Mike is a stalwart Oilers fan, Pete a Canadiens fan. And even when it comes to his own team, Pete has little to offer. When called upon, Pete generally cannot be bothered to muster an insight, and even expecting recognition of players' names and how to say them seems to stretch his capabilities. Mike and Pete share an fairly easy repartee about their personal lives and such, but it's hard to fathom why these two have teamed up in this endeavor.

    Awesome Weekly NHL Podcast!!
This is my first full season listening to the ScuttlePuck Podcast and it didn’t take me long to place them in my “top 10” regular weekly listens. Both Mike and Pete are very knowledgeable and have topics that span across the entire NHL opposed to one team. Both are very good at connecting with their audience via social media and have an impressive informative website with all the tools to connect. I highly recommend you give these guys a listen because both are fun hockey guys and really good conversations with intelligent guests. Keep Up The Awesome Work Boys!!

    Very enjoyable podcast!
This is a weekly podcast that covers the major topics in the NHL. Mike and Pete are both very knowledgeable and friendly host. It's a pretty safe podcast to listen to around work or wherever with an occasional curse word or two (Sh*t is about as strong as I've heard). The podcast last around an hour and even though one host is an Oilers fan and the other a Canadiens fan they give a fair amount of time to all the teams that need it.
