    Awful
If you’re gonna do a podcast about a tv show, please know the story of the show. Know the characters’ names, who they are, who they are related to. Care about the show you’re talking about. Care about the listeners

    2016 election??
Recently started watching the wire, so I looked for the wire podcasts. I was gonna give this podcast a try until I see there is an episode dedicated to the 2016 election. I give it a listen to just confirm what I assumed. Just some liberal spouting orange man bad. No thank you. Not only will I not listen to this podcast. I won’t listen to anything attached to this network of podcasts. Keep your politics to yourself. It has nothing to do with a TV show.

    Long sigh
The Wire is the greatest show of all time and my favorite so anything to do with it I’m in! This podcast was so frustrating because of the host. She’s so unbearable I had to abuse the fast forward button just to get through each episode. The long tangents about nothing are the worst. The off base assumptions and taking everything so personal is very frustrating. Worst of all is her bleeding heart liberal takes from her moral pedestal, very disgusting. Rashawn was a delight and offered SOME balance but Natasha over powers her at times with her idiocy. They miss a lot of points and overall themes of the show because she wants to keep relating to her own experiences which would be fine if it wasn’t EVERY OTHER SENTENCE. So many times I wanted to scream through the phone and inform them about details that were missed or interpreted wrong. Rant over! I’m glad they took the time to watch and try to understand this iconic show but I don’t think they did it any justice

    Rewatched
Almost finished only 2 episodes to go. All 60 episodes took about 3 months. Fun project I’ve been wanting to rewatch The Wire for quite a few years and stumbled on Unspoiled when looking for something else so I figured I’d give it a shot Roshawn and Natasha have great chemistry and would be entertaining whatever the subject While it only took me 3 months in real time it took a little over 2 years and it was interesting to appreciate their growth as skilled broadcasters over that time span. Some of the comments mentioned their going off topic but that was one of the things I kind of enjoyed It have the show a conversational aspect like if you were sitting at the kitchen table with them with the advantage of being able to skip ahead 30 seconds at a time I highly recommend trying any of their podcasts and it’s worth throwing a couple months of Patreon their way to keep the lights on Next up for me Leftovers or Justified

    Great Podcast
Great concept to have one host who has never watched the show and another who has. Both add their own takes on the show and how it relates to life and personal experiences. Loved reliving the show again!

    Meh
Couldn’t get through the first episode of this podcast. Too much “I think” and “I can’t remember his name but”. What kind of freestyle mess is this?

    Ughhh
Just found this podcast. I love The Wire so I tried listening. Both hosts seem nice enough but they go off on long tangents a lot of the time. Also, Rashawn, Who has supposedly watched the series multiple times..Knows very little about the nuances of the show so a lot of the conclusions they come to are wrong! They also don’t research anything before an episode. I will try a few more of her podcasts but if they are similar to this..I probably won’t listen long.

    Wonderful
I had a fantastic time listening to this podcast! RoShawn and unspoiled host Natasha provide commentary to each episode of this amazing show, as well as spinning off into tangents on other subjects or stories from their personal lives. It's always insightful, hilarious, or both, and the hosts' levity tempers the serious subject matter which has only gotten more relevant since the podcast was produced. If you don't already have a group of friends with whom you can discuss the show, don't miss this podcast!

    Do research before the show
This is the only podcast I could find that talks about the Wire in its entirety. I’ve only heard 3 episodes, but the hosts constantly go off on tangents about nothing to do with the show that take up large amounts of time. The thing that annoys me the most though is that they don’t look up ANY of the names of the crew or cast before an episode. I couldn’t keep listening when neither of them could remember who played Omar. Really. It takes 4 seconds to look up “Omar the wire actor” and see that it’s Michael Kenneth Williams. 4 seconds.

    Meh
The host has some moments of quality analysis and discussion...but almost every discussion turns into an examination of her own problems. You’re here to discuss a show (the GOAT show), not to use the pod as your personal therapy sessions. Stop talking about yourself so much.

    Does it get better?
I’m on episode 3 and .... I feel like they are missing just being in the moment. I hope this gets a little better because I’m ready to move on to a better Wire podcast.

    What a great listen!
I am super late to the game here as a friend just told me about Unspoiled podcast, but I am loving this!! I am a longtime fan of The Wire and it is a real delight to hear someone like Natasha react to it as a first-time watcher in such a genuine, hilarious, and nuanced way. And Roshawn!! Your voice is so unique and soothing and your laugh is delightful. The two of you have wonderful rapport and I hope you two have continued to work together beyond this and Harry Potter, because your chemistry and mutual enjoyment is really lovely to listen to. It makes work a breeze!

I’m a little late to the party
I’m such a huge Wire geek, so finding this podcast has been awesome. I’ve been listing every day while I work. It feels like I’m talking with my friends about my favorite show, except that most of my actual friends won’t talk about it with me. Nice work, ladies. I like the perspective of a newbie versus someone who’s seen the show more than once. (I’m wondering where in podunk, Texas Natasha lives; girl needs to move to Dallas, Austin, Houston, etc.!)

    Just what I needed!
I have often regretted that The Wire was not around in the age of social media and podcasts. I did a last ditch search recently for any shows that covered the wire l(one of my favorite shows of all time) and found Unspoiled! It blows all the others out of the water and covers the show from beginning to end!

    Prepare the skip forward feature
“Hi. I’m over thirty years old and can’t hold onto a rudimentary job, but let me rant about how everyone else is stupid.” It’s pretty good when they actually talk about the show, which is the best show of all-time. Unfortunately, most of the podcast is devoted to half baked socioeconomic political opinions that come off sounding like those of a one-year community college drop out. She completely misses half of the show’s message and beats the obvious points with a dead horse. This podcast is a prime example of why people can’t talk to each other, and nothing ever changes in society

A Great Companion to a Great Show
Roshawn and Natasha are terrific hosts. This is the second podcast of theirs that I've listened to and they've yet to disappoint me.

    Awesome The Wire podcast
This is a fabulous podcast. Roshawn has seen the show numerous times and is such a knowledgable guru and Natasha is new to the show but is a TV affectionado and adds so much to watching The Wire. I normally view an episode, digest it and then listen to this fab podcast. Natasha has a wonderful TV, Film and Book podcast network called Unspoiled. It is a great community and she turns you on and enhances the best of TV, Film and Books. I can't get enough of it.

Loved the Wire? Here's a great way to repeat the experience...
...I'd watched The Wire 3 times before listening to this podcast. Often I'd go back and rewatch a particular episode or even just a scene after listening to the show because the added insight and nuances of Natalia & Roshawn. I loved their banter and conversational style, and never fretted my insomnia after I discovered them. Keep it up, girls!

    You must listen to this!
Natasha and Roshawn provide a great discussion of The Wire if you're already a fan of the entire series, but the podcast is an exceptional companion to a first time viewer of the show. As a latecomer to the series, I might have listened to any available podcast in search of additional insight and to compare my thoughts about the show. Lucky for everyone, this isn't just any podcast. The other reviews already nailed the points about chemistry and insight. Thank you Natasha and Roshawn!

    One of my Favorite Podcasts!
I really love the show the Wire. It remains on of the best shows on television. I enjoy it even more reliving the seasons taking this podcast journey with Natasha and Rowshawn. It is wonderful hearing her different reactions to when characters first appear and then see her opinion evolve as she gets to know them. Rowshawn does an amazing job analyzing the scenes while not giving anything away to the cleverly clairvoyant Natasha. 1 more episode to go! Shaun @WriterShaun

    The more things change...
Years after this series first aired, Natasha is watching it for the first time. She and Roshawn, who is rewatching it, offer reactions and guesses about where things are going. They are thoughtful in their analyses and hilarious in their digressions. It is highly entertaining to hear how much Natasha enjoys the storytelling...and how depressingly relevant the storylines are to the news today.

    Enjoyable
The Wire meets the Unspoiled format--the double whammy can only mean a great listen. The podcast really shines when Natasha and Roshawn relate their own personal experiences with the show. Their friendship is so apparent in their discussion, it can cheer you up even as the plot gets darker and Natasha gets proportionally sadder about it. However, it suffers from the same problem the BroadCast has: often, the political nature of The Wire can cause Natasha to go into frustrated rants about real life bureaucracy/The Man/etc. Without any other real life info outside of the show discussed on the podcast, those moments can feel like an angry argument with a political straw man. Nonetheless, I always look forward to listening to a new episode. Banter, insights, and personal anecdotes abound and make re-experiencing the quite grim story of The Wire nothing but enjoyable.

It's like I'm watching for the first time again!
I stumbled on this podcast in season 1 and haven't missed an episode yet. I've probably watched The Wire 5 times from top to bottom, and am now on my 6th viewing as I keep up with Natasha and RoShawn. Their insights are brilliant and fun to hear. I find myself participating in their conversations at times, which isn't at all strange. :) I have to add, the "chess board" piece that RoShawn shared during the Season 4 Finale episode was new information and completely blew my mind!! Thank you for tackling this amazing show. Yes, everything may be terrible, but it's told SO well.

    Soft Eyes
Thank you ladies for allowing me to watch this series with soft eyes. This is my fourth time watching the wire. Your insights are spot on. I am professionally very familiar with the subject of the show and the creators got it absolutely correct. Your appreciation for the nuance and realism of the show is commendable. Most people who are not in "this life" don't understand it. Well done ladies!

    unbasic!
Two great hosts covering one of the best TV shows of all time. Their chemistry is great and their insights are thought provoking. Roshawn is the best of Natasha's cohosts on the Unspoiled network, and I listen to almost every show on there. If Natasha and Roshawn's next project is about something I've never even heard of, I will consume that piece of pop culture and listen to the show with delighted glee. Five stars!

Natasha and RoShawn should talk about all my favorite shows
    Truth.

If you walk through the garden...
Great coverage of an amazing show. I'd never watched The Wire until Roshawn and Natasha decided to cover it, and I'm glad they did. Fantastic show and this podcast provides fantastic coverage of it. Roshawn and Natasha are an excellent team and just delightful.

    Doesn't quite gel for me
After listening more to the podcast, hoping that Roshawn and Natasha as a combo would grow on me, I'm not in love with the conversational dynamic here. Mind you, Roshawn seems like an awesome human being, but as a podcast co-host, she's quiet and laid-back, and Natasha ends up doing a lot of the conversational heavy lifting. That worked well with ASOIAF, when the boisterous Brendan was the unspoiled one, but it works less well here, and often, Natasha and Roshawn get drawn off into personal conversations and side issues that certainly interest them, but which are less relevant to The Wire listeners. Ultimately, there's an energy dynamic that's missing here, which is a shame.

    great insight!!!!
Hey Guys! I'm loving the podcast and hearing your take on things. I just listened to Season 2 EP 6 and I have to say I think you guys are off the mark with who is actually in on the murder of Dee. I just think it'll make a confrontation scene in Season 3 really confusing if you think this was a group decision. Also, I remember when BET aired this season on its network they edited out the dock worker plot line. I think a lot of people weren't fans of the change of scenery so to speak.

    Awesome podcast
Started watching the wire for the first time and really enjoy listening to these ladies talk about the show. Natasha and Roshaun (sorry if I spelled it wrong) are funny and witty while giving great insight to the show.

    Love!
Love this podcast! Insightful commentary and fun banter between Natasha and Roshawn. I only wish I could hold myself back from watching the show, because it's going to be a bummer to get ahead of them. Keep up the good work, ladies!

    Great show
I love this show and it's given me a chance to go back through and rewatch the series with my boyfriend.

    Great podcast!
I'm listening to The Wire, Breaking Bad, and the Harry Potter unspoiled podcasts all at the same time and I have to say I'm impressed by all of them. The hosts of each series have effective and interesting opinions through each episode and I'm having a blast. I do have a request if you guys are welcome to suggestions. Could you do firefly as the next series? Other than that keep up the great podcasts.

    The Definitive Wire Podcast
I stumbled upon Unspoiled in a “Best Song of Ice and Fire podcast” thread on Reddit. It was voted number one by a landslide for good reason. The Unspoiled: ASOIF is probably the most addictive podcast I’ve ever encountered. I listened to 300+ episodes in a very short period of time, and found myself a little sad when the well had finally run dry. Luckily Natasha has become something of an obsessive-compulsive podcaster -- running 5 other casts for different shows and a book series. I started on The Wire since I’ve seen the show three or four times (it’s that good) and I find myself every bit as addicted to this podcast as I was ASOIF. Recently Natasha asked a co-host of hers what quality she bringsto podcasting that another ASOIAF podcast doesn't. I’ll tell you what that podcast don’t bring. Entertainment value. They might be informed about the book series as George RR Martin, but they are not personalities that shine on radio. Natasha, on the other hand, is tremendously entertaining. She’s hilarious. She’s insightful. She’s a good storyteller. She’s very observant. It’s just very easy to listen to her talk…well, about pretty much anything (and you will get just about anything on the Wire cast, because they end up talking about a LOT of different subjects). It’s very easy to tell that this is what she loves doing and her energy for the subject matter becomes quite contagious. If you’re already a fan, you’ve finished of the ASOIF cast, and you’re trying to decide which series to listen to next, go with The Wire. The interpersonal chemistry between Brendon and Natasha that made for a great podcast is most definitely replicated on The Wire cast. Roshawn matches Natasha for hilarity, for insight, for being observant, and for telling some really fascinating stories. She’s a natural. You would never know that she’s brand new at podcasting. Give this one a try. It’s an excellent companion piece for what might be the greatest television show ever made.

    This is great!
I recently started watching The Wire for the first time, and the deeper I got into it, the more I couldn't stop thinking about it. So, the search for podcasts began, and this one is perfect! Since Natasha is unspoiled, and I have deliberately stayed unspoiled for this show for years in anticipation of watching it, I love getting to listen to discussion about it without details from later seasons coloring the hosts reactions. Roshawn is great at not giving anything away, and her laugh is adorable! Natasha is incredibly insightful and engaging, which has led me to check out her other podcasts. I'm so glad those fools in Baltimore brought me to this wonderful podcast! Keep up the great work, ladies!

    Love this Cast!
I just started watching The Wire this week, and this podcast could not come at better time. Great insight and back-and-forth between the hosts. Will be subscribing to all the Unspoiled Podcasts (scandal??? Hell yes). Can I thrown in a request for How to Get Away With Murder? Anyway - so happy to find these!
  • PaulVidal
    Yes!
As a long-time fan of both The Wire and Unspoiled, I had a few misgivings about what kind of approach Natasha and Roshawn would take with the show. The subject is definitely a bit different than that of her other projects, but the quality of this show's output feels as good as ever. Both of the hosts seem to have a natural talent for noticing subtleties and nuances, and bringing out the best and worst of their subjects and keeping things interesting, everything I love about Unspoiled. Even though I'm writing this as they're only two episodes in, I can already see that Natasha and Roshawn will do a great job here. As with the previous shows, I'm finding myself realizing things I may never have if not for this podcast, and appreciating the show even more than I already did. The two of them definitely have a real chemistry together and some good insight, and I'm sincerely looking forward to their reactions to future episodes. I think we're all in for a treat.

    FINALLY!
I've been following Natasha since her days of covering ASOIAF chapters in the Unspoiled! Podcast and have followed along with her other incarnations of covering Breaking Bad, the Walking Dead, and Scandal. When she asked her listeners what show she ought to cover next I was probably one of the few people dancing for joy when "The Wire" won the listener poll. Honestly guys, she needs a break from heartbreaking TV. Granted... *sigh* what am I saying? We traded in Ramsay Bolton-esque options like "Hannibal" and "American Horror Story" for the seedy underbelly of King's Landing. I look forward to more episode-by-episode recaps of this critically acclaimed TV show. The addition of a new co-host to play off Natasha is great and I really love the dynamic between her and Rashawn (sp?) so far! Welcome to the Game, ladies. And remember: "Come at the King, you best not miss."
