A great mix of intellectual weight and delight
I’m a mechanical engineering professor and this podcast makes me wish I studied philosophy, each episode is rich in its own way. I’m amazed at how much intellectualism is dropped in such short conversations! Dr. Cherry has a skill for asking thought-provoking questions that avoid redundancy and really draw upon the expertise of the guests. The ease of conversation and social relevance of the topics makes philosophy less intimidating and much more intriguing. I’m so thankful a friend sent me an episode of this podcast, it has broaden my intellectual horizons tremendously.

Essential listening for philosophers and non-philosophers
This podcast has felt like a lifeline to the kind of discussions that attracted me to the discipline. I wish it had been around when I was in grad school. I am hoping to use this podcast to introduce my students to philosophical discussions outside of the mainstream canon. As someone who teaches Phil of Race, i keep coming back to different episodes and I find myself incorporating new ideas into my lectures after listening to the podcast. The only downside, and this is no a dig on Cherry or her superb podcast, is that the apple podcast ap does not archive every single episode, so I cannot download some of the early episodes again (e.g., Kristie Dotson's podcast from way back has been my go-to episode for when philosophy gets me in a funk).

    Not Perfect but Excellent
So glad I heard about Unmute on Partially Examined Life. Very happy subscriber. Ms. Cherry focuses on Feminist, Identity and Black academics in a conversational, thoughtful manner. Yes, you might have to check your white privilege, but not your brain and heart.

Timely, relevant, and pushing philosophy in a progressive direction!
By highlighting the academic work, social and political concerns, and theoretical perspectives a diverse group of philosophers, Ms. Cherry has established a fresh and enagaging podcast that connects the lecture halls of academic philosopjy with the "streets" and "avenues" of of our broader cultures. I've benefitted immensely from this podcast and highly recommend it!
