ZSamson64Great ShowThis show is amazing. There is so much infromation packed into every episode. No matter if you are looking to become a better trainer or a better just better in your every day training this show will do it for you! The great intro music is a bonus. This is the first podcast I started to listen to in 2015 and is the only one that I have have listened to consistently all these years. As a soon to be father of two girls I appreciate when he talks about his family. As a high school football and wrestling coach the information he gives is in a class of its own. Thank you for all the great episodes!

Duffman#17 years overdueI've listened to the ISS for 7 years now, or so. I originally followed Joe when looking for vertical jump advice. I came across several early podcast episodes of his talking about that, enjoyed them immensely, and decided to give the other episodes a try. Since that time, I have listened to every podcast of Joe's and it is the first podcast that I listen to Thursday mornings. I also have to give Joe credit for getting me into podcasts, as his was the first. This inspired me to listen to others, whether that was due to them being on his show (Rhonda Patrick, Mind Pump, to name a couple) or him mentioning them (Tim Ferriss). I have grown enormously over the years due to this, both in terms of knowledge and as a person. I've also taken a number of his supplements (whey, magnesium, vit D) for years and they are quality products. Joe's focus has shifted over the years, from developing explosive, powerful athletes to serving the washed-up meathead community with smarter training as we age, though he still gives us a taste of the old stuff on occasion (I do wish it were more, tbh, as I'm still holding on to that style of training for as long as I can). In my opinion, Joe is knowledgeable, entertaining, honest, reliable, and I think he does his best to lead with integrity. I will continue listening for as long as Joe keeps putting them out.

LMSM2015what can I say the others haven'tI can’t say enough good things about this podcast! 😩 Every episode is a delightful blend of enjoyment, entertainment, and education. Joe D feels like a relatable friend, brimming with valuable insights. His genuine passion for sharing effective strategies that help you achieve your realistic goals is truly inspiring. Plus, he’s hilarious! I find myself captivated even when the topic isn’t one I usually dive into. I’m eagerly anticipating episodes 501-1000—keep the updates coming! Wishing you and your family a fantastic holiday season! Cheers, Maureen

PlescanoEpisodes 499 and 500What a treat! Having the legend George D and triple H back to back. The only podcast I make time to listen to. Congratulations on 500! Keep it up.

JeffW0919Free Education that’s superior to your Degree from the overpriced university you attendedFact. This is the best podcast on strength, fitness, longevity, nutrition, etc. Joe D. doesn’t use the big scientific words that literally nobody cares about anyway. He gets to the point, explains everything thoroughly and gives the best advice out there. Beyond this, his articles, videos, and IG, that are also free by the way, gives you more than everything you need. If you want to go further, his Team Forever Strong on TrainHeroic has been life changing for me, and the CPPS certification is a doctorate for trainers. He’s almost at 500 shows and I don’t recall one that I didn’t listen to and take some notes. Thanks for providing endless info!

Chris is FLAChange your fitnessI’ve been listening to The Industrial Strength show for about 7 years. Joe provides excellent and straightforward strength, fitness, nutrition and overall wellness content every single week. Quite frankly he should be charging a lot of money for the amount information he gives away for free on the podcast!! It’s a must listen every week. This podcast will change your fitness and wellness.

Bambam SerranoOverall ReviewOne of my favorite podcasts to listen to. Joe openly shares his experience and knowledge with a no holds barred attitude. Very informative and useful, his workouts are epic. Thank you Rob Serrano

MTT1976Joe DHands down the best podcast out there. Especially for those of us 40 plus. The information is based on tons of experience. I have used Joe’s information to clean up my training and diet. I have been using his services for about 3 months on TrainHeroic and the results are amazing. I feel like I wasted years doing my own thing. Honestly the best money I have ever spent. Joe has made Thursday my favorite day of the week.

mm doubleIs Joe a mind reader?I’ve been following Joe for at least 15 years, from his old website articles, YouTube videos and “this powerful podcast” and he never fails to provide the best programs and advice! On a recent episode he talked about how his shirt sleeves were feeling a little loose so he added an extra arm pump workout that also helped with shoulder mobility. When I heard it I couldn’t believe it because had been thinking that MY sleeves were looser so it was like Joe read my mind! ( the workout worked too) This also happened a few years a ago when I injured my back, and a few weeks later Joe had an episode about dealing with back pain, which included a routine that fixed my back and I still use today. Maybe Joe is a mind reader but however he does it, I’m grateful for this podcast!! Matt

maxcavnyuQuestionReview: The Industrial Strength Show is by far the most valuable fitness content on the internet! Question: Joe, what are your best tips for bulletproofing the Achilles tendon? I’m scared I’m close to seriously injuring myself. Context: My right Achilles tendon has been achy for the last couple months. I practically can’t walk when I get out of bed but then once I warm up it feels fine. Also, I strength train 3 times a week and play soccer once a week. I used to run a couple of miles on off days but have just been walking since it started hurting. If you have time to answer this on the show it would be much appreciated. There is very little content out there on Achilles injuries and I’m sure other washed up athletes are suffering from them. - Max

Ol’ CoachEpisode 481Great Episode, Joe. Remember; Sports Research is only good if a coach can use it to help elevate his athlete. The sole reason I got my doctorate in sport science was so I could not only stay current in the field, but so I could utilize research to help people get better. Research needs to be applicable to those in the arena.

Sal TruzzolinoShould be renamed Over Deliver ShowThe amount of knowledge that I have gained listening to this podcast is amazing. And it is all for free! I have put that knowledge to good use as I am stronger than I have ever been in my life at the age of 46. On top of that it is always an enjoyable listen. DeFranco must mean Over Deliver in Italian because Joe D is Mr. Overdeliver. Thanks for the great podcast.

Joe DransFantastic Listen For All Fitness LevelsJoe DeFranco is a leader in the fitness world. Yes, his knowledge is vast and his training methods have been proven to work. Joe is willing to admit fault and is open to others ways of thinking/training. His interviews/guests are fantastic and always enjoyable. However, these aren't the only reasons you should give him a listen. Joe is relatable and does not attempt to speak over your head in his explanations. At times he can be rough around the edges, go off on tangents, and is a family man who clearly is proud of his children and their accomplishments. So if you don't like that about him or your podcasts, then no he would not be your cup of tea. As a fellow meathead from NY/NJ who shares the same values, I find the Industrial Strength Show to be the perfect balance of the above. So Joe, keep doing what you're doing because it's truly helping people! - Another Joe D

LizzabamFrom Box Squats to Shopping Carts - A Wild Ride of WisdomNot only does Joe give out fantastic strength training tips and have a great supplement line, but he also also teaches you to dodge the chaos at Samsung, the Apple Store, to sprint away from Sprint, and to avoid Safelight like it's the plague. And don't even get me started on Fitify. Keep putting away your shopping carts, my friends 💪💪💪

jasonrgarveyIt’s like being part of the podcast⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Joe DeFranco's podcast is an absolute gem for anyone dedicated to fitness, strength training, and athletic performance. His extensive knowledge, combined with engaging interviews featuring industry experts like Dr. Tom, provides listeners with invaluable insights and practical advice. Joe's passion is evident in every episode, and his dedication to helping others achieve their best is truly inspiring. One episode that particularly resonated with me was when Joe and Orlando discussed the importance of recovery. Following their tips, I incorporated more focused recovery strategies into my routine, and the results were amazing—I felt less fatigued and my performance improved significantly. Joe's anecdotes about his family add a personal touch that makes the podcast even more relatable and enjoyable. Thank you, Joe, Orlando, Dr. Tom, and the entire DeFranco family for creating such an incredible podcast. Highly recommended!

NJfitmomLove it!I look forward to this podcast every week. Joe always shares great info and literally makes me laugh out loud every episode. Love his brutal honesty, the best!

bbpodreviewEyeroll…Your evoked feelings from the vaca gym “fluencer” kid is priceless. It’s so amusing IRL to. Appreciate the pod.

Harveston87FOREVER STRONGBeing Forever Strong and training for longevity is more than just a saying to me. Being a dad to a son who is on the autism spectrum, I need to be capable and around for as long as possible to potentially have to take care of my son for the long haul. Father Time is undefeated but the longer I can stay in the game and stay as fit and jacked as possible for my son and my family the better, and Joe D and his training advice help me to do just that. I’ll be 37 this year and am starting to be able to see my abs while preserving/gaining muscle for the first time thanks to this podcast and the Team Forever Strong app! I’ve been listening to the Industrial Strength Show since about 2017 and haven’t looked back since. Joe Defranco gives you real world practical tips and tricks that you can actually use to improve your health and fitness and practices what he preaches. Anybody can give you a 12 week program to (insert goal) but few trainers help you for the long haul to feel as good as you’ll look. With that being said Joe D has earned my trust and respect and he is my go-to resource for health and fitness. Give him and this podcast a chance, you won’t regret it. -Hunter

Samtheman_38A show that changed the way I trainI’ve been listening to the podcast since 2020. Since then my training habits have gone up and down and in between, but when I hit my highest points it’s been taking Joe’s advice. His advice on bench press growth helped me set the state record bench press for my division in my first powerlifting meet. If you like training, this show is a must. You will get more than you could ever expect from something that you don’t spend a dime on.
-
mikegullionExcellent adviceJoe D is the man. He gives it to you real and talks about real world results and doesn’t bore you with the science...well...maybe some occasional bro science but it’s all good advice. Great guests. Lots of information and has helped this washed up meat head on more than one occasion. Just recently mentioned a little nugget about his limber 11 warm up, which he created over a decade ago. Added it to my routine and my hips/low back feel so much better.
-
David PonathIncredible Strength and Conditioning PodcastI started listening to the Industrial Strength Podcast about 7 years when my college strength coach recommended it to me (Shoutout Jeff Jones), and I haven’t missed an episode since. As a coach in the private sector, working with athletes of all ages, the content Joe provides is so relevant, and I always appreciate the variety of topics he covers. Additionally, it’s impressive how consistent he is, as week in and week out, he produces a podcast no matter what. I would recommend this podcast to anyone, thanks for all the great content Joe!
-
jjw98765Amazing content for everyone!Absolutely love Joe D and his podcast. His podcasts are full of great insights, information and advice. He keeps everything extremely understandable and applicable. As a personal trainer, there is a take away from Joes podcast every week. So SO happy I found his podcast. Big thank you for giving away so much education for free. Only wish you dropped more than once a week. Thanks for keeping it real!
-
Costly Mi$takeGreat for beginners, experts, and everything in-betweenThis podcast is a treasure trove of practical wisdom seamlessly delivered through years of well-honed experience. The valuable insights, workout ideas, and personal answers have forever changed my understanding of working out and being healthy. Joe's honesty, guest appearances, and dedication to building knowledge make this podcast an invaluable resource. From 20 to 26, it's been a crucial companion on my fitness journey. And I know as i build my foundation for health his words will ring true for the decades to come. Working to become a 'strong bastard' has never been more fulfilling. A resounding 20/10! Jordan

Jake_weaverThe freaking best!I’ve been hooked on anything Joe D. since I came across a Brian Cushing training clip on YouTube. The information given on this podcast is incredible. And being able to carry that info over to Team Forever Strong is priceless. The down to earth, no B.S. of Joe is what tops it off. It’s like listening to an old friend or coach I’ve known for years. As a father of 2 kids both under the age of 3, I don’t get a lot of free time… but when I do, this podcast is top priority for me. You’re the freaking best Joe D.
-
KWB1989Joe D. Is my heroHi Joe, I am a long time listener, and have loved your podcast since Day 1. I am a washed up former personal trainer who has struggled with my fitness since becoming a dad. Every time when I feel like quitting, I will listen to your show and your topic will motivate me or inspire me to try something new. Thank you for all the information you’ve provided me with over the years. It has kept my family and I on the right track and moving forward. Here is to you and you’re great personality and accent. Thank you for all you do, Kyle Bloedorn

JoshuaUWFrom middle school to Division I sports! This is by far my favorite strength and conditioning podcast! As a former college baseball player who is now retired, I continue to listen weekly for the fantastic training info. I first started listening in middle school because the strength and conditioning resources for baseball players have long been behind other sports (especially football). I devoured your YouTube videos, the blog, and completed numerous cycles of WS4SB in high school in order to gain an edge. I remember getting up at 5am to train at a commercial gym before classes started because the strength training program offered through my high school was lacking. If it weren’t for this podcast, I’m not sure I would’ve developed a love for strength training and reached my potential in baseball. Without Joe D., I don’t even know if I would’ve played college baseball. Thank you for being a constant voice for many years and I look forward to your insight as I transition into being a washed-up meathead!

elultimotechnicoFirst Review of 2024!!This is my first time reviewing ANY podcast ever, and I’m proud that it’s the first review for The Industrial Strength Show of 2024! I’ve been a long time listener of the show. Being a fan of professional wrestling, I was first introduced to Joe D when he appeared on The Taz Show back in 2015. He talked about training Triple H and how he helped rebuild the Game. I never heard of his style of training so I was intrigued. I gave his podcast a shot and I’ve been hooked ever since. His advice and expertise are top notch, and I can’t believe he gives it away for free! My other ‘first’ with Joe D was when I bought my first training program. I always found free ones, but when I heard Joe describe this particular one, I had to give it a try. Enter - ReBuilt 2.0. I had never trained like this and my body responded amazingly. Muscles started popping, fat went down, and most importantly, joint pain was reduced. I ran the program 3 times last year! I can’t recommend and thank Joe D enough. I also recommend following his instagram, @defrancosgym, which was the reason I got on instagram to begin with! So much great and entertaining content there as well. I appreciate all that he does for his fans, which includes recording 3 shows with a lost voice! Talk about being a man of the people. I wish you and the family a great New Year Joe, may the gains ever be in your favor and the shopping carts out of the parking lots you park in. Thank you brother and enjoy the week off to let that voice heal!

PEISERT74Best Training podcast out there.Of all the fitness podcasts out there industrial strength is the most authentic. From Joe’s personal life stories of his training and his family are great. What really sets him apart is his ability to simplify ways to help us help our clients or our own lifting. His latest episodes on his cues for the squat, bench and deadlift while simple have already helped me improve my clients technique. Thanks for all the help coach!
-
TXmed73Greatest strength training podcast in historyThis is my favorite fitness training podcast. Joe D nails it every week with great info that is very applicable whether you’re a trainer or meathead. Many times he does the show when he has good reasons to skip it. Best of all, every week is like a seminar or staff development session. If you’re a trainer or coach and you take your coaching seriously, then you owe it to yourself to listen. Travis B.

Gino0007Educational and EntertainingI have been an avid listener of Coach D's podcast for quite some time now. Being on the other side of 40 and with a family, my priorities have shifted from pushing as much weight as possible to having a healthy, long life. The breadth of health topics covered, ranging from workout tips to supplement and nutrition information, has greatly contributed to my overall well-being. Coach D's ability to present complex concepts in a straight-forward and engaging manner is truly remarkable. I never leave an episode without taking with me some newfound knowledge. Love the podcast. Keep up the great work, Coach!
-
RAD_Rob89Won’t miss an episodeI’m a 55 yo washed-up meathead athlete. Joe gives the tools and info to remain strong, capable, and healthy. He is relatable and easy to listen to. The podcast sounds good but is not over-produced.
-
TFD_EFDPerformance for the Long RunTwenty years ago as I was starting my military career, I read an article on T-Nation by Joe DeFranco and he quickly became my go-to resource for athletic performance and how I trained myself and the teams I led for multiple trips to not super awesome places around the globe. Two decades of active service later, I am now a senior officer and he is still my go-to resource for performance, but also for washed up meatheads like myself who continue to train hard and want to look, feel, and perform amazingly, but acknowledge the realities of careers, families, and acquired wear and tear. His podcast is top notch, like the rest of his products and content, and I cannot recommend it enough. Thanks Coach for what you do and the passion you do it with. You truly make a difference. Tim
-
charliebrownfitnessGreat fitness podcastJoe has one of the most knowledgeable fitness podcast. Learn something new every episode. Never miss an episode. He is an inspiration to young trainer like myself. One day hope to knowledge that he possesses so I can share what I know with future trainer and clients
-
IndyDevGuyGreat podcast!Joe drops the knowledge bombs and entertains all at the same time. This is one of the best podcasts out there! In an industry full of charlatans, Joe tells it like it is and goes above and beyond to share valuable advice for free.
-
Collin_CalisthenicsFive Stars From a Fellow NJ ItalianJoe, I’ve been listening to your show since it’s inception. Aside from being a fellow NJ Italian, one of the things that I like best about your podcast is how relatable you are to your audience. You’re a guy with a family, a job, stress, and a real life. Many of those in the fitness industry are either egocentric and/or portray a false exterior. Joe’s a true genuine guy that wants to make a real impact on people’s lives and be a difference maker. I personally enjoy the physiology conversation(s) that you bring into your shows as well. You make hard subjects like anatomy and physiology more digestible. The best sports science/fitness/healthy living Podcast out there. -Collin D.
-
StrengthCoachHartHighly suggested!I have kept Joe D and his guests on my podcast rotation for a long time! Joe D’Souza work has been on my radar since originally reading WSSB on T-Nation many years ago. It was great then and can still be applied today, but everything I’ve seen from Joe since then has been great! Being in tactical S&C, I very much appreciated the episode with Joel Jamieson among many others. Keep up the great content Joe!
-
BP WriterGreat podcast, great hostRecently discovered this podcast and loved your conversation with world-renowned Physiotherapist Dr. Andrew Lock! What really resonated with me was your candid conversation about low back pain and posture and tactics to help! Am plagued by poor posture and low back pain and got tons of amazing takeaways in this episode! Thank you so much! 🙏

joejones64Life saving podcast!I found the Industrial Strength podcast in 2017 as I started my Fitness journey at the age of 53. I was about three months into my fitness journey and was just about to start doing everything wrong again. The first podcast that I listen to by recommendation of a coworker was Joe’s explanation of liss versus hitt. Yeah I was just starting to do everything wrong again. After learning the importance of low intensity, steady state cardio along with a smart strength training program, I began following Joe’s advice. It was very fortunate and I’m not gonna say I did everything right because I am hardheaded. But I always came back to listen to what Joe was saying. Sometimes Joe‘s advice didn’t hit home until I had an ache or pain or an injury. But Joe always was proved right If you are looking to improve your health and longevity you have to listen to this podcast and you have to pay attention. Or you could do like I have several times and learn the hard way. I have listened every week to Joe‘s podcast since I started. I have learned something new every single podcast. I guarantee this podcast is fitness gold!!
-
Michael J. EwingExceptional Training Insight, Unforgettable Stories and Invaluable Life Lessons!Joe DeFranco's "Industrial Strength Show" is nothing short of exceptional. As a long-time listener, I really appreciate Joe’s blend of fitness expertise, personal anecdotes, and wisdom that goes beyond the walls of the gym. This podcast is a truly unique and compelling resource for both seasoned coaches and those on the journey to better health and fitness. A must listen every Thursday!
-
Ebt75TopSource of information for trainers and general populationJoe, as someone pretty much same age as you and also a personal trainer, your podcast is an essential source of quality information for myself and my clients. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience every week!! I look forward to your podcast every Thursday!
-
Scotland360Top quality info from a REAL coachThe enthusiasm and knowledge Joe has for training after so long in the industry is incredible. He’s a genuinely great person I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and a fantastic knowledge source for all things training as well as being a healthier person in general. The show is entertaining but full of info without being too dry like many other fitness pods out there. Can’t recommend the podcast, the insider, the CPPS or Forever Strong more- all incredible value to any coach, meathead or athlete who wants to be better. Joe is a valuable resource for EVERYONE! 10/10 podcast, every program/ebook/piece of content is gold.

Mama CKLove Joe D & the Industrial Strength Show!Top notch podcast! Love the passion that Joe D. brings and how he over-delivers every week! My husband turned me onto Joe and the Industrial Strength Show a couple of years ago and I haven’t missed a show since. And it’s not just for former meatheads but for anyone and everyone interested in health, fitness, and wellbeing. Thank you Joe for the amazing Clean Greens powder as it is a part of my daily routine. Helps me feel great and tastes awesome! I’ve also been known to steal my husband’s sweatshirts from time to time as well! 😀 Thanks again for everything! Joe DeFranco is definitely a fave in our house! Stay strong! 💪🏼
-
NPfitnessValue & ApplicationOne of my go-to health and fitness podcasts! Joe always delivers great information and value to his listeners. I love how the information he shares is easy to digest and apply. In addition, I appreciate that Joe goes beyond “sets and reps” and dives into important personal health items such as regular blood testing, blood pressure, and other important biomarkers. Keep sharing the great information, Joe. Your listeners appreciate all of the time and energy you put into this podcast! Be well and keep living, Matt
-
Youngin1310Amazing info for everyoneMy name is Nick and I’ve had the pleasure of listening to Joe’s podcast for some time now. As an active lifter of 4-5 days a week, I can tell you that what I thought I knew, was NOT everything. The way that Joe runs through information from how to safely perform workouts, how to mix things up with variation, and what to change up/swap is so beneficial and has helped me throw some variety to my routines. I workout at home, with a smith machine cage (not insanely fancy), Olympic bar with weight plates and dumbbells from 10-60lb and continuously adding. Just listening to Joe run through additions and variations has allowed me to ensure that I can do more than enough without spending money to go to a franchised gym. My next thing to do is once I finish my current supplements to invest in the ones that Joe produces based on the thorough breakdown of what he says is in them and how they assist the body to perform not only when lifting, but just in general living. Looking forward to trying the protein powder and the pump n prime once I get the chance. Keep up the great work Joe, you don’t know just how much of what you do truly benefits those who strive for a healthier living! Thank you Nick
-
iatrapperBest Podcast Out ThereJoe D. shares more top notch health and fitness knowledge each week than any other podcast out there! If you aren’t listening, you are missing out big time! I’ve been listening since the beginning and it’s the only podcast that I regularly listen to that’s a must listen the day it comes out. #teamforeverstrong 💪
-
brianmarSRNJThank You Joe!What’s up fellow Industrial Strength Show listeners, I hope you’s guys are having a great day. I have been listening to Joe religiously for the last three years and even if I wasn’t biased since were both from New Jersey, I’d still say it’s the best podcast out there. Listening to Joe speak is way more informative and comprehensible than any higher education exercise science course you will sit through. In my mid 30’s now, I've come to the realization that my days as an athlete are way behind me and that training for longevity is the main focus. Joe has completely changed the way I have focused on not only training myself, but fellow clients along the way. With two young sons, it is my goal to one day to be able to train with them and pass along the wealth of knowledge I have learned from listening to this show. Joe, as a father, fitness enthusiast and washed up athlete I want to thank you for everything you do for the many listeners of this show. I highly recommend this show for everyone looking to live a life that’s strong and long! #jerseymeathead PS: my two year old son knows how to put a shopping cart away, stop being a lazy bastard ! Brian Marcinczyk

Chenoweth202Best of the BestJoe D. has some of the best fitness, business, and life information on this podcast. I listen to episodes more than once because they’re filled with so much pertinent information. If you don’t learn one thing from each podcast you ain’t listening. Making this podcast a daily listen has been a game changer for me and it will be for you.

BigMatt44SoldAfter 30+ years of self programming and 18 years of work as a Doctor of Physical Therapy I broke down and purchased my first program from someone else and that was Joe D’S Rebuilt 2.0. Let me just say I couldn’t be happier! His knowledge and expertise is second to none and he truly does things the right way. I highly recommend his podcast and programming for anyone looking to get stronger or remain fit and healthy throughout their life! ~Matt
