To those who want improvement in being a human
This podcast has been extremely helpful for my own being and my interpersonal relationships. I have shared it many times to people I care about. Life can be so much more fulfilling if we put in some self reflective work. Thank you so much for bringing this into my life.

    Warning: massive incongruence
I've read Jayson’s book and followed his work for several years. From the outside, he has some great ideas and relationship wisdom. At the same time, you can tell a lot about a teacher based on their actual actions. Well, having witnessed the way he treats his students (paying about $10K for his program), I am blown away that he doesn't actually live and apply his own teachings. More importantly, I saw his true colors. Out of all the courses I've seen in my life, this was the biggest display of relational unintelligence. Ironic. I will be publishing a full exposé of the Relationship School Program soon. 😔

    Myth of Normal episode
This is a potent podcast. Host Gaddis creates free-flowing conversations and guests reveal themselves in genuinely personal, thoughtful ways. Episodes are packed with surprising insights, relatable info, or actionable suggestions. This show has become a must listen in my journey to more thoroughly comprehend the concept of “healthy relating.

    Appreciated
Really appreciated the latest episode in which Jayson & his wife talked candidly about their own relationship struggles over the holidays. It’s actually really encouraging to know that even relationship experts trip up and struggle sometimes!

    A let down
The episodes he does with couples can be interesting and helpful. He lost me on the episode where he talked about new Dads and in the middle of it said the episode was for the ‘well off families’. Sorry I’m not a ‘well off’ Dad that has to work overnight shift and a second job so Mom can be home more. I honestly could not believe he said that. Also, he cusses like a teenager. Hard to take a man and ‘counselor’ seriously when he talks like a guy your sitting next to at a bar. At times he seems unprepared and rambles. I had hopes for this podcast but for me it’s just a let down.

    Thank you & then some!!!
After repeating a never-ending argument pattern (learned that from one of your episodes 😉) with my husband of 25 years, I found your podcast & am loving it!! I immediately introduced my hubby to it & we now both have hope for the future of our marriage!

    Patronizing
I found Jayson's discussion of parenting very dismissive and judgmental. He repeatedly spoke about whether parents care about relationships with their kids, with assumptions that certain actions mean they do or do not. I did not hear any concrete guidance.

    A big thank you!
Stumbled upon The Relationship School Podcast and listened to Carolyn Bankston and Jayson Gaddis episode, you have just changed my life. After 46 years of living, stumbling, taking one step forward and five steps back, I see a light. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    Audio quality
I would love to see them improve their mic quality. There’s a lot of background white noise. The content of this show but the buzzing is distracting

Wonderful podcast- SO many valuable episodes
I have been listening to this podcast for several years now. Every episode has value, some IMMENSE value!! The people that Jayson interviews are knowledgeable and have a lot of helpful information, strategies, tools, etc. to share. Even the coffee talk style episodes that he has done with his wife Ellen, in recent years, are informative, have expanded my awareness in regard to myself and others and provide me with many great takeaways. Thank you Jayson for all you do to help make the world a better place!

Authentic style & content ~ accessible yet nuanced
Check out the extensive “back catalogue” of past shows. So many spot on & uber-useful life lessons from these folks. Pitched more toward those under 50 - so the language / presentation is of-the-moment and often fun. My only caveat is that, occasionally, there’s too much meandering chat between Jayson & his therapist partner. I am impatient for the excellent, straightforward topic content. (Oh, where is my mindfulness / compassion when I need it 🦑?) Usually, though, the TRS pod is truly worth your time.

    Hooked
I was introduced to Jayson’s work a couple of years ago. Recognizing my lack of skills, i was interested in his approach to relationships. I dove in and just completed my training to be a coach. This stuff helps with all of your relations and most importantly the relationship with yourself. Keep on growing, keep on pushing to be a better person… the world needs more caring & loving! Jayson and Ellen’s work is a BIG part of the solution for a healthy planet…

    Great content!
I’m a therapist in Alpharetta, GA and listen to this podcast often while exercising. I just finished listening to episode 395 on the anxious-avoidant couple. Such great content! I loved the opportunity to hear the way another therapist works. It is so helpful to hear how knowledge gets translated into practice. Thank you for your work!

    Do not purchase RS Courses
Customer service at Relationship School is incredibly disorganized and does not model the communication skills discussed in Getting to Zero. They have not provided the materials purchased, did not host the scheduled calls, and have been incredibly difficult to work with. I have provided explicit details of the various issued and not received a response or a genuine apology for the difficulty. Yes, I asked for an apology as Jason doesn’t believe you should apologize unless it’s meaningful to the person. I’ve asked more than once. The closest thing I’ve received is, “I’m sorry you experienced communication issues,” as they tried to blame emails going to spam. Later they confirmed the emails were NEVER sent.

    Beautiful and thoughtful conversations
Wow, just noticing myself wanting to take a few weeks off from my day job and listen to each podcast episode. Just stumbled across you/your podcast a few days ago. Started out looking for a couples therapist. Now very strongly considering applying for the couples coaching school for a number of reasons. Listening to podcast episodes is strengthening interest and alignment. Really loving what Im hearing, the people you attract, appreciating the sincerity and thoughtfulness and in many ways, re-connecting with displaced parts of myself.

    Thought provoking and on point
Thank you for these podcasts. The topics and discussions open my mind and have lead me to dive deeper into myself and my own limiting beliefs about myself and relationships. I know that there will always be work to be done but these podcasts help me navigate that road and get me to be better version of me.

    Disappointed
and concerned that you recently gave a recognized spiritual and emotional abuser another public platform. Hard to trust your show after that.

This podcast has become a main source of exposure to life-altering concepts and self-reflection. With humility and curiosity may you consider the content, take what serves you, and leave what doesn’t. If you want to grow and embrace relational adeptness you will find much that serves you here! Compassion and gratitude to those who choose this path!

    A path to growth
Coming out of a 21 year marriage and looking to grow and learn so as to not repeat my mistakes. Jason’s podcast has been instrumental in my growth and the fostering of an amazing relationship with my partner. Thank you. Working my way through all 300+ episodes.

    Making an impact
Should be a requirement in every school in the country for every age group. My daughter and I have learned so much together during our daily drives. Helping impact our future generations. Thank you!
  • FUOverdrive
    Incredibly helpful!
Wow. After 27 years of marriage where I felt like my partner and I were rarely on the same page (and totally his fault) I decided it was time to learn about relationships. I started with episode 1 about 4 months ago and have listened to about 250 episodes, mostly in order, so far, even the ones that sounded like topics that didn’t necessarily pertain to me. I’ve learned practical tools and techniques for communicating more directly as well as how to repair after conflict. And even more importantly, I feel like I’ve gone through a paradigm shift for what it means to be in a long term, committed relationship and how I contribute to how amazing that relationship is (or not). I feel truly grateful to Jason and his wife Ellen for freely sharing so much of their expertise. I highly recommend this podcast to everyone.

    Transformative!
So much value and wisdom provided in this podcast. Jayson provides knowledge with the added benefit of actionable steps to improve the listener’s ability to relate and communicate. For Jayson specifically: You’re very clear in your intention to integrate relational knowledge into education. So, I also want to add that I’ve integrated concepts that I’ve learned from you into a college course I teach on professionalism. I approach professionalism through the lens of self-awareness and include topics like emotional intelligence, navigating conflict, and giving and providing feedback. Just wanted to let you know that your goal of providing information to future generations is being realized. Thank you, sincerely, for your work and vision!

    Makes Me Feel Human
I don’t have a success story to share, I haven’t listened long enough. All I have is the way I’ve been able to personally relieve the stress of feeling like no one understands. The amount of different people, scenarios, examples and opinions that are available within the episodes of this podcast are extensive… I hear little bits of my problems in almost every different one, and when I don’t I hear a little bit about someone else’s problems in my life. You’ll be able to relate, and benefit just from listening and feeling no longer alone in your problems. I hope one day I’ll have a success story and be able to leave another review!

Jayson is the Man, So Helpful!
I started my self-improvement journey with Jayson in 2016, I've added other podcasts but 5-years later his podcast is still in my queue while others have been dropped! Not one episode missed or skipped, this dude has something valuable and worthwhile to share with every single episode. If you haven't subscribed yet, there's no reason to wait. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, "Do It, Do It Now!".

    Great action-based tools
So much great info, with juicy tips and questions to ask yourself to help you find a healthy relationship. It helped me end a relationship that was loving but not serving my non-negotiable needs with grace, heal and grow in clarity—and now, establishing a relationship that works for me and my partner.

Self-promotional and disrespectful to both the highly skilled professionals he interviews & audience
I really wanted to like this podcast because he has some amazingly skilled couples therapists and attachment pioneers on from time to time, and I tried hard to give it a chance but every episode left me with a high level visceral experience of disgust. For all the 20-25 minute short podcasts, he spends the first 10 minutes rattling on about wanting people to leave him great reviews. Self-promo should not be 40-50% of the episode - that feels really self-serving and was a real turnoff not just from the podcast but the "school" itself. I saw him use a lot of other hyper agressive toxic patriarchal marketing tactics on instagram and fb ads and wish this guy would give being real and authentic a try instead of using those approaches which are such a turnoff. One of the other awful things was I kept feeling like he's not fully present with the people he interviews - he often cuts them off in the middle of them making a really good point to interject with a question he things is more important, but it's usually nowhere near as interesting as what they were saying. Then he has these amazingly gifted relationship therapists on and I swear I could hear him checking out at times and wondered if it was just me, but nope - then I could hear his keyboard super quickly and loudly clacking away WHILE HIS GUESTS ARE TALKING. Instead of listening to this great, skilled professionals and learning from them so he can get better at what he does, he wastes the opportunity by multitasking which is rude to them, but also rude to listeners because then they have to navigate the distraction instead of being able to soak up the wisdom of these incredible people. Jayson seems to very focused on himself, which I get comes from some unresolved wounding and insecurites, but wow - to think you are trying to teach other people from that place instead of taking what these people who are more skilled and experienced in and learn and grow. Honestly just awful. Don't waste as many hours on it as I did. There are so many other relationship podcasts out there that actually respect the people it interviews and where people are humble and take responsibility for their humanness.

    Thanks after break up
This is helping me work through a recent break up and see the reasons it happened and what key elements were missing from the relationship. Makes me actually feel positive about the future and confirms that what I sensed was missing was valid real stuff that matters. Thanks.

    Opportunity for growth
I came across this podcast earlier 2020 and have added to my tool box so many more options. Thank you
I wish everyone in a relationship could listen to this podcast. So many amazing gems. The inability to resolve conflict leads to 10 years taken off of one’s life. This is how essential it is that we learn how to work through problems, trauma and conflict. Thank you for sharing this gem and your amazing podcast!

    Just what I need, always
Jason, thank you for the work you do to keep us learning. Anecdote alert- these days have been a struggle for me mentally. As I got on my car, I asked God to send help my way today and like usual, I decided to listen to an episode. While the topic was helpful (Fear of Abandonment), Jason started the recording by saying: “whatever you’re facing today, you’ve got this...” and that was the help I needed. Thank you, always.

Couldn’t have done it without your podcast!
I love this podcast! I could not have made it through my previous toxic and abusive relationship (and healed from it!!) without these episodes. Jason is so knowledgeable and has the best guests. Keep up the amazing work. 💗👍🏼

Nothing Else Out There As Useful as This Podcast
Jason, thank you for all of these podcasts and your continued work to help us do better in relationships. I am thankful for these free and highly educational talks that are immediately understandable and relatable. What a gift you are, thank you. Most recently, I appreciate episode 323 with your wife in which you outline the four questions that couples can examine about the kind of relationship they want to share. Again, you guys are the best help out there.
