    Better without Cole
Baseball only! Don’t care about your personal lives

    Foolhardy!
What is your argument for the batting the two lightest hitters in the lineup Bailey (.637 OPS) and Jung Ho Lee (.641 OPS) ahead of Tyler Fitzgerald (.831 OPS) who was by far the best offensive player on the team last year with his speed and power?

Great interview. Love your chemistry. Love that Cole is a true fan and that Alex is a realist. Love you guys

    Permanently replace Cole with Laura
Laura adds much more to the conversation than Cole and is not nearly as annoying. Replace Cole with Laura

    Fair. Intelligent. Fun.
Giants fan or not, listen to these guys. They are refreshing.

Regular listening recommended for any SF Giants fan
As a fan who grew up on the West Coast (my thumbs just mis-spelled it as ‘sweet-coast’, which is pretty accurate), I am now living in the Midwest and don’t get enough opportunities to watch the Giants (always prefer a game in SF over Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland or Cincinnati!). Alex, the insider realist and Cole, the fan with familial connections and fan to listen for team updates, insights and discussions. They never let me get a word in, but I am talking over here trying to get in on the conversation regularly! Anyway, highly recommended!

As a long distance fan it’s so helpful to have a podcast like this to keep me up on Giants news and the stories behind the news. Everyone on the show has the connections needed for quality info. And while the 2024 Giants are struggling to stay above .500, the podcast has moved way up in the standings as far as sound quality. Shout out to the crew for listening to fan encouragement to attain the quality sound you expect from a sponsored, professional podcast.

    An Honest Podcast
I appreciate both of you guys. Alex you are honest when it comes to calling out players when they aren’t playing up to expectation. This is a mediocre team at best. They have underachieved all season long. So you give credit when it is deserved, but also aren’t afraid to call players out when they are failing. I enjoy the guest interviews with players, coaches and more. Alex please fill in for Laura Britt on pre and post until she returns. Greg Papa is awful! He is so arrogant and obnoxious that it is hard to watch. Plus his dye job on his hair is hideous.

Pavs does nothing for giant fans
What is the point of this show? They are never critical and fair. It’s 100% making fun of fans when the giants win 3 games. But when they lose, which happens more often than 3 wins, they never say the fans were right. Bad roster, fans over reacting. Giants under .500, pavs glosses over he is wrong again and again. Pointless to listen. Go to a different podcast who will be fair and accurate and not mock fans.

It’s the best option for Giants pods
The news and perspective that Alex brings is great, especially in season. Cole brings up topics that are relevant for fans. But the fanboy and Twitter talk aren’t enjoyable. Twitter is not real life so don’t make it the taking point. It’s better when it’s Alex and Laura. But if you want giants news in pod, and like the fandom stuff, it’s a good show.

Timely and insightful-must for Giants fans
I love the timely in-depth discussions and insights throughout the season. I also appreciate the off season shows to debrief on the previous season and feed our hope and anticipation of the next! The podcast is a perfect complement to the Giants broadcast team, pregame, and post game shows.

So good I often repeat a listen!
Love the juxtaposition of enthusiastic Cole and analytic Pavs. Keep it up!

Can someone buy Cole a proper mic?
Love the podcast, but with these big chain sponsors you’d think there be a budget for a better audio setup? I keep having to adjust the volume whenever Cole’s talking… it could sound so much better! Otherwise no complaints, Go Giants!

    Great Show
    But needs Laura more often.

    Laura Britt is the worst
This POD is 5 stars when Alex is on but Laura Britt is the worst. She doesn’t seem to know even basic team facts or history and is out of touch with what the fans want (We are clamoring for Blake Snell but Yamamoto wouldn’t have moved the needle???) Will change rating back to 5 stars when Alex is back.

    Waiting for Alex to Return
Cole is Cole. He is an unapologetic fan and it’s fine, I can tune him out. I cannot deal with his current co-host. I was not a fan when they were on 49ers talk and am less of one on Giants talk. The interview with Bob Melvin was well prepped and she was coached up, but the pod is just bad. I’ll come back when Alex is back.

    Love this podcast!!
As an avid Giants fan I’m always looking for more news and stories about the players and standings. This podcast provides all of that plus comedy!! Cole and Alex are the best duo, with Alex bringing the facts and Cole bringing the hopeful fan feeling we can all relate to. Would 100% recommend to any Giants fan!!
  • JayBennett
    Thanks!
Love the podcast, fellas. Here’s a question. Could you see Brandon Crawford play a season with the Savannah Bananas when he finally decides to retire from the Giants?
  • Review.0
    It’s perfect.
Unstoppable optimism meets unrelenting realism as a die hard fan and a beat reporter are forced to talk twice a week.

Five Stars and a side of Ranch
While enjoying the Official Giants Podcast lunch of chicken tenders and garlic fries at the ballpark today, I silently gave thanks to Alex for his work in making the side of Ranch dressing available. It was then that I realized I was overdue in leaving my five star review of the podcast. So here it is. This is my favorite podcast. I enjoy the Giants news, interviews, and discussions. I was a charter subscriber to the original podcast, and was sad when it went away for awhile. But, the current version with both Alex and Cole is even better. Both hosts do a great job with their different and entertaining views on the Giants. I look forward to the new episodes, and I thank you both for providing such great entertainment and information for Giants fans.

    meh
I really want to love this podcast but I just don't. Your mileage may vary. Cole Kuiper is just not a great podcast host and his slacker goofball vibe wears thin. The only real upside for me is when his dad shows up because Duane actually has credibility and is genuinely funny. Pavlovich is a veteran of Giants coverage and knowledgeable but he just seems kind of dour and cynical for somebody who covers baseball for a living. Even when he tries to be funny it just kind of comes off as disingenuous and condescending. The discussion of the Giants is OK and that's what you come for, but the personality mix just doesn't work for me. Again, YMMV.

    Great podcast
Addictive, fun listen. Especially great fix during the off-season!
  • Joser2112
    Informative fun listening
Been listening to the podcast since spring ‘21 Dubón interview. Cole and Alex are an excellent mix of reporter/fan viewpoints. Realistic assessments of day to day and not some of the hyper-critical vitriolic nonsense of some other Giants-centric media/twitter. Other sources quote Alex, so you might as well hear it from him on the podcast.

    Thanks for CO
As a Giants fan that moved to Colorado 3 years ago, I really appreciate this podcast. It’s always informative and entertaining. I look forward to listening each week! It’s like having a piece of home! Thank you Cole & Alex!

    The freaking best
I freaking love this podcast. Cole and Alex are fun, passionate, and honest. I grew up in Northern California and now I live out of state, but I feel like I’m back home again every time I listen to these guys.

I enjoy you guys so much! Admittedly I am a bit inconsistent, but I always catch up. Thanks for the San Diego food recommendation and shout out on the pod. I thoroughly enjoyed my tri top nachos. You lift my spirits even when the Gianta struggle. Keep up the great work!

    Enjoyable if sometimes irritating
Overall I enjoy this podcast. I especially enjoy when they bring in Kuip or have interviews with players and coaches. I also enjoy the lighthearted banter and it doesn’t bother me when they go off topic. Sometimes Alex comes off as kind of dismissive/full of himself but that’s my only complaint!
  • Albuquerque Bill
    Enjoying
You are “must listen pod” for me. Great news and takes👍🏼
  • Ryan Burnham
Would be better with just Alex
I’ve been trying to like Cole but he brings things off topic too often, especially with his woke views on everything to signal to the listeners how morally good of a person he is and just how much he cares. I used to like the podcast that Alex did solo. Cole’s analysis is usually about how handsome certain players are and how the team’s uniforms look. Alex tries too hard to be funny and wants to be like the barstool guys (he uses their lingo and humor and it’s cringe). He also interrupts Cole nearly every sentence. You might be wondering why I bother listening to this with all of those criticisms, and the answer is because of Duane.
  • RSRP14
    Cole is the best
I am giving it 3 stars because of Cole. Alex, humble yourself….we get it you are the giants beat writer you don’t have to look down on peoples questions. Some people don’t have the time to Pay attention to every giants game or moves, but the fact you always single out people and ask to not @ you on Twitter is so arrogant.
  • kilterlvr
    Alex is a little baby
I asked a question on Twitter he gave a stupid response then blocked me…lol you’re a joke my friend!!
  • duyrendy
    Keeps me updating. Thanks. :)
First of all, you’re the best. I am a HUGE giants fan. But as you know, before the 2020 season, they basically sucked. So I stopped being involved. But in 2021, I was searching giants on podcasts. And I find this podcast called giants talk. So I listen to one podcast. And I found out that the giants were having a great season and with so much information, I got involved again. Without you guys I wouldn’t know the GIANTS MADE THE IMPOSSIBLE POSSIBLE! The 107 wins would be all wasted. But cause of y’all, I know. Now I basically listen to it every day. (It’s amazing.) so thank you so much Alex and cole. Keep it up.

I don’t t listen to any podcast but had to try this one since I’m a life long fan! You guys are great together and of course Kiuper is and always is wonderful whether on radio, tv or Giants Talk!

    C’mon Alex
First off, I love the interviews and the content you have both been providing. But Alex trying to say the ATL Braves stadium move was motivated by race is laughable. Stick to baseball and out of politics m, especially when you’re uneducated in that realm. The Braves moved because the city refused to sell them move space for parking and other attractions. Now you’re educated.

    #ForeverGauchos #ForeverGiants
I got into the habit of taking my dog on all of these long walks in the hilly West Side of Santa Barbara during Giants' night games all summer. With so many off days during the postseason, I started to decompressed (& process) with Alex & Cole more regular-like. Alex has been doing this for more than a decade, & our junior Kuiper, well, he grew up in the Giants fam. They're smart, they're fun... they're still young. I did feel like urging them to try PT Anderson's Magnolia a couple days ago – Interview with the Vampire is a prestige Tom Cruise movie?! What? ;) But otherwise, they clearly know what they're talking about. :) Given the magnitude of tonight's LA/SF Game 5 at Oracle, I'm sure I'll jump on this ASAP. Was trying to think of some sort of #RallyZito hashtag & then I just keep remembering that they're ALL from UC Santa Barbara. I'd love to get this pair at least to talk to some of the Gaucho undergrands I currently work with — in person (or on Zoom) at some point. In the meantime, there is this regular program, a fine addition to my podast repertoire. #GoGiants #BeatLA
