    The best podcast on writing!
This is my absolute favorite podcast on writing. Lisa M Lilly dissects every episode of Buffy and it’s like I get to experience them all over again while learning about writing. I enjoy her insights on the show, and how she often talks about things I never would have thought of. I’ve learned so much from this show, and I have often listened to an episode more than once, when I’ve needed to think more about a particular writing topic. Definitely worth a listen!

    Great
Finally someone who understands the purpose of Xander as a character and there is no bashing of Spike, or Angel. Just the art of storytelling! (Though I wish there were clips from the show.)

    So good!
This podcast is amazing even if you aren’t a writer or if you are a writer and haven’t seen Buffy. Love the way Lisa walks you through the episodes and her perspective on them. I was a big fan when Buffy first aired, but Lisa helps me appreciate it more. I really love how every episode is so carefully and thoughtfully prepared. It would be easy for one person discussing a show to be boring, but Lisa’s preparation and presentation make the show super engaging. Highly recommend!

Great podcast for aspiring screen writers
Lisa walks you through the episode pointing out what plot points are hit by certain timestamps to give the listener a good example of how to pace a story. And for non writer Buffy fans, it helps you understand why the story works as well as it does.

    Love this podcast
As a Buffy fan, I enjoy this podcast on multiple fronts. One is, Lisa walks you through the episode thoroughly enough that I can sort of watch it in my head— so it’s like I get to watch an episode of Buffy without being bound to a screen. Her angle of script analysis is just right—while I am not a fiction writer, I do enjoy critique and analysis, so it’s a bit of an education on how to critically think about a television show, without being overly intrusive, so it doesn’t interfere with my enjoyment of just talking about Buffy. I end up feeling validated about why I thought a particular episode fell flat, or why I especially love one.

    Great Podcast
This is really a great podcast. If you are a Buffy fan or are interested in the structure of stories you’ll love it. I’ve also read several of Lisa Lilly’s books and they are also excellent.

New Take on an Old Classic
There are umpteen podcasts out there about BtVS and most are just episode by episode recaps. True, each has its own unique lens through which it views the series, but Lisa’s commentary stands out. Viewing the series as a vehicle to learn storytelling, characterization and plot structure is a brilliant angle and Lisa is so smart and insightful in how she presents each episode. Can’t wait to hear more!!
